Peachkit awoke in a strange den with a strong, tangy, leafy smell. This must be the medicine cat den, she thought.She sat up, hearing the yowling of fighting cats. The foxes must still be here... She thought. She was sore, but realized that she wasn't alone in the den. There was another cat in there, young but not a kit. "Who are you?" Peachkit said as the cat stepped Foward. "I am Sunpaw," the cat spoke. For the first time Peachkit realized that the young, ginger tom had stars in his fur and was slightly transparent. "A-are you a Starclan cat?" Peachkit asked. "Am I... D-dead?" The tom chuckled. "No Peachkit. You're not dead. But I have come to warn you," he said growing serious. "You are more special than you and any cat could ever know, Peachkit, so you must be careful. Listen to me. I may not be a true warrior, but i fought bravely in battle. Though I died, I learned that the greatest honor is dying in battle for your clan." A loud shriek pierced the air making Peachkit jump. "Was that..." She began to ask but jut then, a grey tom walked into the den. "Rainblaze!" The young kit squealed, looking at her dead father. "Yes Peachkit. I'm sorry for your loss." Sunpaw said sadly. Her father spoke. "Peachkit, For a young kit, you fought bravely. But sadly, you cannot be a warrior." This news shocked Peachkit. Why not, what's wrong with me? She thought. "Peachkit, I have 2 questions for you." "Ok..." She replied to the Starclan cats. "Say I have a sore throat, what herb would I-" "honey for a sore throat, why?" Peachkit said immediately. She didn't need to think, she just knew. "Next question. A cat has a broken bone, wh-" "bindweed to keep it in place, poppy seeds for the pain, but not too many since poppy seeds make cats sleep." She said effortlessly. She began to wonder how she knew all these herbs since she had never been to the medicine cat den. "Peachkit, you made a wish out there, right?" Sunpaw asked. "Y-yes." Peachkit replied. "I-I wished that I knew how to help my clan. I felt so useless so..." She said shyly. "Peachkit, do you know what this means?" Her father asked. "You will be the most important medicine cat ever, and the clans will remember your name for generations to come. You were always destined to be a medicine cat, but now, you are Bramblebug's apprentice, Peachpaw." Her father said. "Bramble...bug? What happened to Snowfoot?" She asked. Suddenly a scream echoed through the den and a graceful she-cat padded in. "Hello, Peachpaw." She said. "Snowfoot! But how?" She said sadly. "Me and Bramblebug were returning to camp after our meeting with Starclan. I have just made her a full medicine cat as I knew I would die. Starclan told me that foxes were attacking, and they said that I would save my sister. You are now the medicine cat apprentice. We have already warned Coalstar, you have nothing to worry about." They said as they began to fade.
