My baby girl. I had a baby girl. She was so precious and I loved her so much. She had John's eyes and smile, but my hair and nose. She reached her tiny hand up and touched my face and I almost cried from how precious she was. 

"My baby, I love you little Amber." 

She smiled at me and my heart melted all over again. I pulled her up more onto my chest and held her close. I pulled out a bottle and after she ate she started falling asleep. Her sleepy little face made me tired as well. I knew it was a terrible idea to sleep in bed with a newborn so I called for John. 

"I'm here, is everything alright?" He almost ran into the room and I thought it was adorable. 

"Yes love, everything is fine. Amber and I are just a little sleepy. Could you wrap her up and put her in her bassinet?" I smiled at him and he took our sleeping daughter from my arms. 

John wrapped her up and set her in the bassinet without waking her back up. I turned on the fairy lights above our bed and he turned off the light. I got comfortable under the blankets and John glared at me for a moment. 

"Chris, there's room enough in this bed for two."

"Not after you knocked me up. No, my dear, you gave up your bed privileges about a year ago." I buried myself in the blankets and didn't say a word after that until John decided to worm his way into my blanket burrito. 

We ended up tangled together and completely content by the time my exhaustion took over. John kissed my cheek and sighed out a few words that completely melted my heart. 

"Thank you for giving me a family, I'll never repay you."

I looked up at him and gave him a soft, sweet kiss. "Never do that to me again and I think we have a deal."

We both laughed and he kissed the top of my head. We talked and talked until we couldn't anymore. At that point, I had laced his hand with mine and looked at the ribbons we used as wedding rings. John looked at them too and laid his head next to mine. 

"I love you, my darling."

"I love you too my dearest."

We fell asleep together, kept safe by the other's warm embrace.

"Hey lazybones you have class, get up."

I groaned and got up. Should have known all that was too good to be true. Just a dream. Now I'm gonna be all pissy because I miss it. 

"Yeah yeah I'm up. Remind me again why I don't just drop out?" I looked at John and he was probably disappointed in me. 

"You do want to be able to succeed right?"

I shrugged. 

"You can doodle and draw the whole time. " I perked up at that and John laughed at me a little. "Get up and get your books."

I threw a pillow at him and laughed when he almost fell over. I grabbed my bag and a pair of shoes and walked out into the living room. Brian gave me a fond smile and ruffled up his curls. 

"We're in the same Astronomy class, aren't we? I recognize that crazy head of hair from the row in front of me." I offer him a soft smile and stuff my books into my pack.

"Yeah,  we are aren't we?" He returns the smile and walks out the door with me.

We talked all the way to class and I decided to sit next to him instead of in the back alone like I usually did.

I caught him staring at the little doodles I did based on the constellations that our professor was talking about and he smiled.

"Maybe you and Freddie can work together on some cover art, you're really good," I heard him say and I blushed as I turned to a blank page.

"Maybe... I'll talk to him about it," I said and smiled softly at him as I finally started to pay attention.
