Chapter 3
Percy's POV
As I walked out of the crater I hid my feelings so Annabeth wouldn't see fear written all over my face. I couldn't worry her so I had to pretend that I didn't see anything down there. As I reached the end of the crater where Annabeth was waiting for me, she started firing the questions that I knew were coming. "What was down there?"
"Oh noth-
"Was it Destruction? Does he know where we are? Should we start running again?" I laughed to calm her down.
"Calm down my dearest fiancé. It was just Destruction trying to scare us by showing off his power." The way I shrugged it off like it was no big deal seemed to calm her so I continued, "He has no clue where we are, he just knows that we're far away." Yes I know what your thinking, but the lie was for a good reason. "We can rest in this place for a while so how about we go find a restaurant that has some good pancakes?" As my stomach rumbled quite loudly, I smirked. She caught my mood and gave me another one of her heart melting smiles.
"Well I wouldn't want you to die of starvation, Seaweed Brain. Let's go." As she walked out of the sand and onto the board walk, I tried to keep my mind off of the more serious parts of my life. As I walked behind her I looked around for a diner or some place that looked like they had pancakes. There were plenty of people around to see that huge crater, but I don't know what the mortals really saw with the mist shielding their eyes from all magic. The longer I stayed at Camp Halfblood, the harder it was to see what mortals see with the mist. Now no matter how much I tried not to, I could always see past the mist. It didn't effect me anymore.
As we continued to walk, I passed by this guy with an Avengers t-shirt. I really wanted to see the new movie, Age of Ultron, but I've been so busy lately. If I were an Avenger I think I'd be Iron Man, mostly because my skin used to be iron before I took a wash in the Little Tiber. Jason would be Thor since they're both all freakish with lightning. Nico would be Captain America since they were both born in the 1900's and should be super old by now. Thalia would be the Hulk because when someone messes with her friends, she gets pretty scary. I wouldn't be surprised if she turned green and buff one of these days.......
I had been so lost in my ADHD thoughts that I had just noticed that Annabeth had been trying to get my attention. I figured I was zoned out for a while now cause she seemed pretty annoyed. "Huh?"
"Percy, you had one of your moments again." She sighed. "You can't keep on doing that. I don't have the patience to try to get your attention for ten minutes almost every single day you go out in public."
"Woops." I blushed and let out a small laugh, "Anyway, please tell me that you found some pancakes by now. My stomach is gonna eat itself." She glared at me for a second but cracked a smile, not being able to keep a straight face. She pushed me towards this diner that I failed to notice was right in front of my face for the past 5 minutes.
"Come on I'm hungry too. I think your pancake addiction is rubbing off on me."
"Your welcome.
"Shut up, Seaweed Brain."
"Only if I have pancakes stuffed in my mouth"
"Then shut up so I can get a table for us." She got me there. She smirked at me as she asked for a table for two, knowing she won the argument. As we sat down I looked at Annabeth and sighed.
"You sense the monsters too, right?"
"Yeah, there's at least three or four of them."
"Lets just hope that they have some decency and decide not to attack us until after we eat." This caused her to laugh as she questioned my sanity. I just shrugged. "A demigod's gotta eat, Wise Girl." She also shrugged. So we finally ordered ourselves twenty pancakes.
Four cups of orange juice and twenty pancakes later, Annabeth and I sat back in our chairs both satisfied. I sensed that the monsters were watching us by now. They probably were waiting until we were too full to fight. Of course as ADHD demigods, we almost always had energy in reserve. I motioned to Annabeth and she left our money on the table as we walked out the door. I uncapped Riptide as Annabeth drew a knife that was hidden in her clothes. "Alright monsters, you can come out now." I swung my sword around lazily as I called out. Annabeth used the mist to make sure there were no mortal interruptions during the fight.
Four Cyclopes appeared from the shadows. Each of them were at least seven feet tall and almost as buff as Thalia - I mean - the Hulk himself. Then I realized something. These monsters must have been sent by Destruction. They're gonna tell Annabeth about Destruction's message. I could not let her find out about that. I became more serious as I gripped my sword and charged them.
I surpised the Cyclopes so I was able to swing at one of them and turn them to dust. Before I could regain my footing after that swing the nearest monster punched me in the gut with so much force I flew back at least twenty-five to thirty feet. I hit a wall hard and slammed back down onto the ground.
"Percy!" Annabeth tried to run to me but the other two Cyclopes blocked her path. That made me get up. I had to get this one-eyed, ugly guy out of my way so I could help Annabeth. He was running towards me with his head down as if he was going to head butt me. That idiot, I thought to myself. As he got closer to me I jumped up onto his back and brought my sword up above his neck. He anticipated this and spun onto his back causing me to hit my head hard on the board walk. He got up, but I could barely stay conscious, much less stand. These guys were not your normal Cyclopes. These must've been more powerful because of Destruction. Then I realized that Annabeth was over there handling two of those monsters at once.
That triggered something inside of me and I smelled the ocean coming closer behind me. A huge wave engulfed me, instantly restoring my energy. Another wave pushed the Cyclopes away from me. I then rode my wave towards Annabeth and used it to throw her two Cyclopes towards the third. When they were all together I summoned a hurricane around them and it swept them all the way to the ocean. They probably turned to dust before they reached the ocean. As I turned to Annabeth, I let go of the wave that I was riding. I saw that she had tears in her eyes and before I could say or do anything she started yelling at me.
"WHAT DID DESTRUCTION SAY IN THAT MESSAGE, PERCY." The two Cyclopes must have said something to her.
"It's no-
"DON'T LIE TO ME. TELL ME WHAT DESTRUCTION SAID TO YOU." The tears were now streaming down her face. She probably already knew what the message said, but she wanted to hear it from me. I sighed. I knew that this was the end of our day at the board walk.

HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, I hoped you enjoyed the chapter. I know that this story has almost NO reads whatsoever but here's the random Percy Jackson Question: (and remember the first person to get it right gets to know a major event of this story that may or may not be coming up) What was the last thing Annabeth said to Percy before they fell into Tartarus?
Okay that's the question! And if you're a certain person who I gave the whole storyline to then don't bother answering the question because you'll ruin it.
