I'm here oo ❤️❤️

ADAM

"Are you people making out in there?"

That was the first thing I heard as I woke up, from my slumber and the first face I saw was Kunmi, staring down at me with...

She looked away immediately she saw that my eyes were opened and I couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped my lips before I pushed myself off her thighs into a sitting position.

I didn't want to notice how she was quick to put a small distance between us but I did.

"Are you guys doing something together in there? The voice asked again, a hint of suggestive undertone in her voice, a suggestive tone that made me turn towards Kunmi whose cheeks were busy turning tomato red.

"I know you guys are doing something because it's been long you guys have been together," Sophia continued, sounding so stupidly stupid, "And I'd have loved to leave you guys alone to do whatever it is you do when you make out but Adam, your mom is already around so everyone is looking for you since you're like a criminal now."

And that's it. Sophia would never have sense again.

"You people should open the door oo, I'm not ready to be a godmother oo." And that statement was swiftly punctuated by heavy and loud knocks on the door. Her knocks were so loud that I was sure she was disturbing the school.

The Sophia everybody know, Top ten model with millions of followers on social medias. The one who had graced the red carpet and attended big events with top notch celebrities all over the world.

The Sophia I know, the one banging at door right now with all her might. They were like two different people, like two different personalities in the same body.

Kunmi was quick to get to her feet and to open the door when the persistent knocks grew even louder and whose hand was already raised up in a fist and ready to knock nearly tumbled into the studio when Kunmi suddenly opened the door.

I eyed her warily before I pushed myself up to a standing position while she kept looking back and forth at Kunmi and I.

"Oh God!" She breathed out in relief before standing upright. "You guys are still fully dressed so I'm relieved."

Kunmi was looking at her as if she was the splitting image of horror film. Sophia, on the other hand did not even look like she knows what she was saying at all.

"I thought you guys would be undressed and doing things you shouldn't be doing. Emotions and hormones can be pretty tricky, that's why I was knocking like..."

"Sophia,"

She looked up at me, her expression eager.

"Gbenu dake. Does your mouth have a filter at all? Cho Cho Cho Cho Cho. Are you a parrot?"

Her mouth parted into a small surprised O and her expression morphed into that of feigned anger.

"Of course, you can talk to me anyhow now. Shebi you've already gotten baby Kay back, you can push me away now."

I shook my head at the sheer stupidity my best friend embodied while Kunmi on the other hand just looked like she wanted the ground to open up and swallow her.

"Anyway, you're being called in the principal's office for damaging someone's face and..."

Oh shit... The realization dawned on me. Mom was in the principal's office right now. I just had to get her summoned to the school because I had gotten into a fight despite everything going on with her.

Good! A definition of the perfect son.

"Well, if you're done standing there like a zombie, you should start going to the principal's office now." Sophia said again and that was when I noticed that she already has her hand wrapped around Kunmi's elbow and was propelling her out of the studio.

Kunmi turned back, smiled encouragingly at me before Sophia finally dragged her out of my view and the last thing I heard was Sophia telling her that she was going to show up in her, Kunmi's house the next day.

Again, wasn't Sophia supposed to be too busy and up and about with her modelling career?

**********

"I never taught you to settle issues with your fists, Korede so I don't understand where all this rubbish is coming from."

That was what mom screamed at me immediately we got to where she parked her car. I ignored her, opened the car's door, dumped my bag on the back seat before relaxing fully on the passenger seat.

I was going to ignore her and all her words.

"Are you not the one I'm talking to?" She asked again after entering the car and starting the ignition.

"Couldn't you have just talked it out like someone sensible?"

"Why did you even have to apologise to his mom? Did you do anything wrong?"

"So, I should have gotten into a physical brawl with her after you beat up her son that much?"

"Mom... He said insanely rude words about you... I couldn't have just stood there and allowed him to call you... To call you..." I trailed off, feeling frustration and anger course through my veins. It was one thing to see people post all those rude comments about mom online everything, it was another thing to have someone like Rahmon say it rudely to my face like that.

Mom did not say anything for a while, she just kept driving and navigating bends while looking overly serious at it.

Maybe she was really angry at me...

"Korede, I'm not against you getting into fights with your classmates but at least, take a few punches while at it." She turned sideways to look at me and she grabbed my chin with one of her hands as if she was trying to examine my face, "I mean, how is it that you look perfectly fine after beating up someone that badly?"

What?

I just kept staring at mom, unable to believe what just came out of her mouth. I thought she was going to get all angry at me and probably go all out to say she did not raise me to become like dad but she was... What?

She removed her hand from my chin at the same minute a low chuckle escaped my from my mom.

Mom... Really? I just couldn't stop staring at her in wonder and amazement.

"See, Korede, it's normal. Boys get into fights every time. Don't beat yourself up, hmm?"

Oh wow.

"And you can check back seat. I got you domino's pizza on my way."

Oh wow.

And true, there was a packet of domino's pizza on the back seat and that just made my mouth to open in amazement.

Really?

"Mom, you're probably the only mom in the whole world who buy snacks for her son after hearing that he got into a fight in school."

She shrugged, a smile touching her lips as she took a turn.

"And that makes me the coolest mom in the world."

Her smile was so contagious that I started smiling.

Coolest mom in the world? Well, definitely!

"Do you have an idea how many divorce cases I've won back in Abuja? More than 100, Omolara, more than 100! And what? My own sister has been living in a nightmare of a marriage for more than 16 years, mi o de mon." and I did not have an idea, "What kind of sister does that make me? Ehn?"

That was what mom's elder sister was saying when I stepped out of the main house into the compound. Big mummy had gotten here very early in the morning and since then, they've been talking non stop.

Me, I knew I did not even want to stay in the house and I was stepping out to ask the driver to drive me out, to anywhere.

I stepped out at the same time the the same the Gate man opened the gate and two girls stepped in.

Sophia and Kunmi.

Kunmi and Sophia.

Sophia broke into a short race the moment she saw me standing by the main entrance.

"Surprise!! Pretty Boy! Are you surprised?" Sophia wouldn't stop grinning at me when she got to where I was standing but me, I wasn't even paying any attention to her, my whole attention was on Kunmi who was walking ever so carefully towards us as if she was going to hurt the ground if she walked more than that.

I knew what must happened. Sophia must have gone to their house like she said she was going to and she must have blackmailed, threatened, cajoled, begged and forced Kunmi into coming here with her.

My best friend is a big hoodlum but she's the vibe and highlight of the group.

And I don't think anyone would want her any other way but this.

Kunmi soon got to us, her eyes fixed on the floor as if that's where the people she was here for were and I found myself mouthing Hi to her. Beside me, Sophia chuckled.

"Oh, come on, why are you guys acting all shy? Come on, grab yourselves and do all the romantic gestures couples do and hmmmmm." She was cut off abruptly because I pressing her lips together with my thumb and index finger.

"Just shut up already. How... God!" She pursued her lips before winking suggestively at me.

"Okayyy. Okayyy." She said immediately I removed my hands from her lips and she started clapping her hands together with her eyes glinting with excitement as if she just thought of something exciting.

"Show us the way to your room na abi you'll keep staring at us like that?"

"My room or the sitting room?" I asked her but she was already grabbing Kunmi by her hands and dragging her towards the main door and I knew there was no talking her out of it. Luckily, my room was located at the west wing of the house, making it far away from mom's and making it impossible to hear what mom and big mummy were saying.

"Ohhh, see neat boy's room. Kunmi, have you ever entered his room before?" Sophia asked immediately we got to the room and I found myself glancing at Kunmi who was in the process of looking around.

"No," She shook her head gently at Sophia who was quick to push her further into my room and she actually made her sit on my bed.

"How do you people in relationships do it? I'd be living in my boyfriend's room if I had one."  She said and I resisted the urge to gaggle her.

"So..." I started to say but she was quick to interrupt me.

"Have you seen his sketch pad before?" She asked an obviously flustered Kunmi, "He has sketches of you in it and no single sketch of me and he's supposed to be my best friends, can you imagine that?"

"Maybe he has sketches of you in his other.."

Sophia's mouth twisted up in mock disgust, "Of course, you'll be quick to defend him. I stand no chance with you guys."

God! Sophia!!!

"Anyway, are you fine? I thought you were shooting a music studio this morning?" I asked, walking further into the room and sitting down on my study chair which was directly in front of them.

"Yeah, I went to Kunmi's place after the shoot and..." She glanced briefly at her wristwatch before she looked up again, "I'd have to leave now self, I have an important party to attend."

Kunmi looked like panic attack just as Sophia started to get up.

I did not even know what to make of that. She just got here like 10 minutes ago and she was already leaving...? Why was she even here in the first place?

"Where...Where are you going?" Kunmi asked Sophia who was now on her feet and well, I just kept staring at the duo, overly interested in where the whole thing was going.

"I got invited to Castron High's Karaoke night." She said casually but I did not miss the hint of pride in her voice and if course, she had to be. I mean, we were talking about Castron High here.

"I hope you're not going there to singggggg..." The look she sent my way made me trail off immediately.

"But why did you insist we should come here when you... When you knew you'd have to leave almost immediately."

"Baby Kay..." Sophia drawled, looking sheepishly at the girl who still looked like she was on the verge of a panic attack. "You should know me by now. I tricked you here so you guys should..." She gestured to the both of us, "Spend quality time together." She smiled when she said the last part and she walked out of room.

Just like that.

Kunmi kept looking at the closed door as if someone just put a knife through her heart.

It wasn't even unusual for us to be alone in an enclosed place like this but thinking about it from her perspective, I knew this... Being in an enclosed place wasn't even appealing to her at all.

She just sat there, fidgeting with her hands and looking at everywhere, her hands, toes, my bed, the walls, but not at me.

"Uhhhmmm, are you okay?"

"Are you okay?" We both asked at the same time and that made my lips to stretch into a smile and her head to jerk up.

I was quick to stand up from where I was sitting to sit beside her in the bed.

She shifted away instinctively putting a small space between us in the process.

"Are you okay?" I asked again, searching her eyes even though she was wasn't quite looking at me.

She said nothing for a while and she just kept staring at something on my collar before she heaved a sigh and looked up.

Her eyes looked like heartbreak and betrayal and hurt.

"No, I'm not." She replied in a very small and broken voice that was barely audible but still managed to scream heartbreak and my heart broke into a million pieces for her.

I reached out with one hand and I grabbed her two hands that were clamped together on her thighs. She visibly paled and her hands went slack underneath mine. Looking at her, I could tell she was dying to pull her hands away, just like she had wanted to the other day at the Art Studio and I also knew that she was fighting whatever voices were telling her to pull away.

That she shouldn't be allowing anyone to hold her hands.

In the end, she did not pull away.

"I'm not fine," She continued, eyes fixed on our hands, "I go to bed every night wishing everything would be a nightmare and I wake up every morning to that rude awakening... It's... It's too much of a betrayal to get used to."

I heard her, heard the slight trembles in her voice, watched as tears welled up in her eyes, watched as she painfully winched and I knew she was reliving the words in the diary.

And they were too much of extremely horrible words for anyone to even remember.

"The things Ami... The things she wrote in the diary... They're nowhere being true... Kunmi, you should know that."

She scoffed and said nothing to my words but I knew deep down that she did not believe that.

I wasn't even going to push it.

Like Kunle said, it was going to take time and it's always one step at a time. At least, this was a far cry from how she was when everything happened. She was sitting right here in my room and on my bed and she wasn't fleeing or avoiding me or telling me she doesn't want me anywhere near her.

"You... Are you okay?" She asked suddenly, jolting me out of my reverie and when I met eyes, they were full of anxiety and worry for me. "Your mom and dad..."

"They're getting a divorce." I interrupted her, confirming what had already been circulating in the news and blogs. "Mom is finally getting out of this nightmare. I mean, I couldn't even be happier."

"Ohhhh. I'm happy that you're finally getting all the happiness you deserve."

Yeah. Just like you deserve to too.

"She's even around. You should meet her before you leave."

She looked like I just told her we were jumping off a flying plane.

She looked absolutely horrified.

"What? Your mom is around?" She asked, her voice filled with panic while I just kept staring at her, not understanding why she was panicking.

"Yeahhhh."

"God!" She was quick to shrug my hands off and to stand up.

I stood up too.

"I should leave." She was quick to say and I frowned, "And besides, it's already getting late."

It was barely even 5pm.

"If you're leaving because of my mom, don't worry, she's the coolest person on earth and besides, she's very busy at the moment."

She did not even look the least bit convinced. "I should still leave. My curfew starts by 6."

That was an obvious lie and I was sure she had an idea that I knew she was lying.

"Okayy, just sit here and give me 6... No, ten minutes. I need to get something downstairs."

She actually hissed underneath my breath because, clearly, as written all over her, she just thinks I'm being plain stupid.

"Alright... 10 minutes." She said before she sat down on my bed. Not sat down per say because she was sitting like she was just waiting for me to come back so she'd run away.

Yeah. She looked like someone that was ready to run away.

"I'll be back." I told her before I walked out of the room while contemplating within me that what I was about to do will just give her enough reason to run away.

***********

"Adam, you said you only needed 10 minutes, it's being more than..."

The rest of the words died in her throat when I stepped fully into the room and she kept looking at me as if I had grown thirteen heads.

It looked like when I was doing was dawning on her because she stood up, ready to bolt out of the room.

Well, none of us was going to leave the room without...

"I should leave now since..."

"I cooked for you, Kunmi. You have to eat before leaving."

She looked at me as if I was personifying the devil himself. Her eyes kept following me, following my every movement as I walked over to where my bed was so I'd drop the tray.

"I'm not hungry..." She started telling me as if I was really dumb enough to believe that. I did not even say anything. I just pulled her by her hand, made her sit down on the bed.

"I'm not really hungry, Adam." She started saying again all the while looking at the covered plate as if she was sitting with a bomb.

She was looking at the plate in absolute petrification.

She was getting afraid of food... Of the calories she'd be consuming if she should even eat anything at all.

I knew all these because that's majorly what I've been reading online all these days.

"This is the first time I'll ever cook something, Kunmi. I've never cooked in all my seventeen years so we can't waste it."

What did I even cook? I opened the lid slowly to show what I've been cooking for almost 40 minute.

Noddles.

Well, well garnished noodles if that was going to make the difference.

Kunmi looked like she was going to throw up.

"Well, my cooking skills are close to nothing but at least, I'm sure it's edible."

She was still looking at the plate in absolute panic.

"Cold Noddles always taste terrible." I said, urging her to start eating but she just kept looking at the food and I knew what must be going through her head.

That she was going to eat, then get out of my sight as soon as possible so she'll get rid of the food.

Too bad I wasn't going to allow that to happen.

She picked up the cutlery, started to stir the noodles together only to stop suddenly.

No, she froze suddenly and she looked up at me, eyes misting over with anxiety.

I did not need to think twice before knowing what it was all about. It had to do with another thing Aminah had written in her diary.

I stood up promptly from where I was sitting in front of her, then shrugged off my tee without even thinking about it.

Kunmi almost sat up in pure terror and fright at the sight of my bare chest and she promptly shielded her eyes.

"What... What are you doing?" She croaked out and I resisted the urge to burst into laughter at her reaction.

Nooo, I actually started laughing.

"Come on, babe. I'm not doing anything. I just need to," I pointed to the other side of my room that led to the wall in closet, one that was fully shielded from my bed, "I just need to work out there while you're eating."

She mouthed ehn ehn underneath her breath while I just shook my head, wondering just how obscene her thoughts were.

She still did not remove her hands from her eyes till I was fully out of her sight and that was when I let out all the stifled laughter with a smile warming and touching my heart.

I was more than happy to see her slowly going back to her usual self. To see her smile and joke and laugh and just take up space.

She deserved all of that.

And Aminah... I didn't want to but I couldn't help but think about her from time to time. I couldn't help thinking about why she was that way.

I pushed my whole body to the floor, then started doing push ups at the same time I heard the sound of ceramics and cutleries.

I smiled to myself.

I was still doing the push up and she was still eating when I started hearing footsteps coming towards the room.

My room!

"Korede, I'm coming in."

The rate at which I ran from the closet to the door and then pushed my whole body against the door so it closed back at the same time mom was opening it was so alarming that I felt intense pain shoot up at my sides.

"Mom, I'm naked." I was quick to say while trying to calm my racing heart. Behind me, Kunmi clamped her two hands over her mouth so her laughter won't be heard.

"Ehn ehn? What have I not seen there? Please, open the door."

She started to turn the knob again and I heaved a sigh before opening the door just a little so I was sticking my head out and the rest of my body was behind the door.

"Mom, I'm seventeen," I said in a very low tone so Kunmi wouldn't hear a thing, "I'm seventeen and I'm naked. Why would you want to come into a full grown ass man's room when he's naked?"

"My son can never be a full grown ass whatever to me and besides, why are you whispering?" She whispered back to me, her eyes dancing with mischief before she attempted to push the door open. "Are you hiding something in there?"

"Mom," I groaned, feeling extremely exasperated. "Please!"

"Anyway, I'm going out with my sister. I just came to tell you that." She announced before she turned back and started walking down the hall.

I heaved a sigh when she finally disappeared from my sight and that was when I finally turned back, closed the door and leaned against it.

Kunmi just burst into a full blown laughter.

Me, I just shook my head, pushed my body off the wall, shrugged on my tee before slumping on my bed.

"I thought you were Jet Li," Kunmi was telling me, teasing me, her voice and eyes dancing with amazement.

"Don't remind me." I replied, still trying to calm my erratic breathing while Kunmi wouldn't stop laughing.

************
KUNMI

I was starting to feel a sense of peace and belonging I was starting to feel especially since that day at Adam's house. My initial resolve had been to eat the food and sneak away immediately after eating but after his mom tried to come, we only ended up talking and talking till it was late at night.

Till the food I ate was well digested.

And it was only when I got home that I realized this. Needless to say, I had a mild panic attack that night and my brain wouldn't stop reminding me of the amount of calories I had consumed and what those calories were capable of doing to my body.

It got worse from that night.

But I was losing weight and I think... That's all that matters.

So the sense of peace and belonging I was drifting to included losing weight and also talking to Adam and Sophia.

Kunle... He wasn't even showing up in school like that or he was probably just skipping classes and spending his time at the basketball court.

Alex and Gab were like two egberes and emeres. They wouldn't stop following themselves around and disappearing to only God knows where at any free period.

We were done with our JAMB and the results were out and the whole school wouldn't stop hailing and hyping Gab for breaking the school's record and scoring 345.

I had no idea of Alex's and Kunle's scores.

But I knew Adam and Sophia scored 290 and 284 respectively.

And I... Well... I scored what I scored and I made it to the top ten in the school.

And I wouldn't have known about Aminah's score if some girls from class C weren't talking about it one time like that.

"I heard she scored 190 something in Jamb."

They had been saying that day in the toilet.

"Yeah, I saw it." The second girl had been quick to answer. "Funny how she not only went from grace to grass but also from being a brilliant girl to such a dullard."

I did not even know what to make of that. Aminah was brilliant, she was legit one of the most brilliant girls in the set so it was basically impossible for her to score that low

But then, the idea that she might have actually scored that low wouldn't stop nagging at my mind, wouldn't stop bothering me.

That was when my thoughts started falling all over the place.

And then one day, I was just walking down the hallway of the block that was used for club's activities and I was about to walk past the door that led to the room of the Choreography club when the door opened and Aminah stepped out.

No, she did not actually step out, she just stood there by the door watching my transfixed self and just as I was about to quicken my steps so I'd get away from her, she grabbed me by my hands and pulled me right in.

Into the studio.

I lost my breath.

I've never been into the studio before, into any dance studio for that matter but this small studio of hours, with the top to floor mirrors covering all the walls.

I just felt like I was going to die.

There was nowhere to look, nowhere to fix my eyes on without seeing myself so I focused on the floor, on my shoes and subsequently, Aminah's feet.

They were bare... She wasn't wearing any shoes which was normal because I knew that she had been practicing dance judging from the loose crop top and pair of jiggers that she was wearing.

I could see that her whole body was practically covered in sweats.

She must have been practicing so hard, after all, our social and Variety nights were fast approaching and she had always said she wants to give a stellar performance.

Maybe she still wanted to do that.

What wasn't normal was how swollen her feet were. They were swollen and bloated and I could actually see blisters from the sole of her feet.

Why...

Why dance that long till her feet were in this condition... In this extremely bad condition?

"Kunmi..."

I nearly bolted to the door.

What was I thinking? Why was I even in this room with her? Why did I allow her to drag me here? Why?

I turned back, started to make it back to the door only to stop abruptly because she had grabbed my hands.

"I... I've been meaning to talk to you since..."

I wasn't even listening to her per say, I was just focused on where she was holding my hands.

"I... I... I wanted to come and meet you the other time at that corridor but I couldn't... I didn't... I wasn't sure if... I did not know how you'll... If you'll listen to me then."

What's she even talking about now? She came up to me, stuttered a stupid apology before I walked out on her and what? She's saying this now?

"I didn't..." She started saying again, not meeting my eyes and her tone starting to sound like heartbreak and pain. "I know I deserved everything I'm getting, all the hate and bullying and everything... I totally deserve it and I don't even deserve you guys forgiveness because what I did is unforgivable..."

Then leave me and just let me go and stop sounding like you're in so much pain and sadness as if you're the one that was screwed over by this!

"But I can't... Kunmi... I can't anymore..." She was actually on the verge of tears now and when she looked up, I nearly staggered back because a face never looked this broken, this sad, this full of tears that they were legit falling off in torrents from her eyes.

My eyes squeezed painfully in my chest.

"I can't handle it anymore... I can't take it anymore, everyone hating me, you hating me, Kunle, Sophia, everyone... I feel like I'm losing my mind everyday... It's so lonely without you guys... I'm not... I can't..."

She let go of my hands and she just...

She dropped to her knees, her two knees with her palms pressed over either of her thighs.

"Kunmi, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry..." She was wailing now, her lips trembling, her whole body shaking with sob with tears streaming down her face while I just stood there, paralysed. I did not even understand what was going on. Why she was on her knees, why she was apologising like this, why she was crying like this.

I did not understand why I was feeling sorry for her, why I was on the verge of tears myself.

"Kunmi, I'm so sorry. Just forgive me, hmm? I'll be good from now on. I won't... I can't... You guys are everything to me and... I can't... I can't... I can't live in this nightmare anyone. I just want to be your friend again... No noo. Just forgive me, hmm? I can't stand you hating me. I can't. It's killing me. Please! Kunmi... I..."

My heart was breaking into a thousand pieces, wouldn't stop breaking into a thousand pieces and I wanted to tell her that I've forgiven if only that will make her get up and stop crying this much.

But I couldn't... I couldn't, not with the words that were forever etched in my brain, not with the words that were forever wrapping up my throat and making it hard to breath...

So...

I took a last look at the crying girl on the floor, the girl that used to be my best friend, the girl that looked like she was being tutored by the devil in the deepest part of hell and I turned back and walked out of the room.

The tears started falling off from my eyes immediately I stepped out and her, Aminah's nerve cracking and gut wrenching tears followed me down the hallway.

Why am I even hurting so much?

********

We did not even cross part again after then. It was like she didn't even want cross part with me or us.

And Tolase too, was going up and about like someone something terrible was going on with. There was the fact that she had been crying as if someone was beating her days ago, there was another fact that I had seen her on numerous occasions try to talk to Aminah who ignored her blatantly.

And there was the fact that she had bumped into me two days ago, intentionally.

I started to walk away almost immediately.

"Hey Kunmi." She was quick to say, her voice sounding hoarse as if she had been spending quality time crying and that made me halt my steps to take a closer look at the fair girl.

And it wasn't only her voice that sounded like she had been crying, her face looked like it too.

I felt oddly satisfied.

"See... I... I've been meaning to... I'm... I've been meaning to talk to you and probably your other friends too."

I just kept staring at her as if she was saying utter rubbish.

"Uhmmm... Hmmm..." She was just stammering, unable to articulate a coherent statement.

What's wrong with this one?

"I made a mistake." She wailed and my heart stopped for like 10 seconds before it started beating again.

Pounding this time around.

She made a mistake?

"I was stupid and..." She trailed off, took off her pink fancy bag, opened it and started rummaging through it. She brought something out of the bag. "Just try to read this." She said to me while I just kept staring at what she was stretching towards me.

A notebook.

A notepad.

A diary.

I stepped away from her with my inner voice silently whispering God forbid to me.

God forbid.

God forbid.

God forbid.

God forbid I open Aminah's dairy to see other things she must have written about me.

Tolase dropped the figurative image of doom on the floor when I wouldn't take it from her.

"Just read it," She said again, her tone pleading just as she took to her heels.

I stepped away from the book on the floor, my mind whispering God forbid to me over and over again.

God forbid.

That was like two weeks ago. Aminah kept showing up in school every other day since that day. She kept to herself, kept to herself till WAEC started. She was doing all her things all alone, reading alone, sitting alone, walking alone, doing everything alone.

She was alone.

She kept doing everything alone, everyday she showed up in school for tutorials or exams.

She kept doing all that...

Until she stopped showing up in school.
