Ch. 4
“Hello Roman, hello Remus.” Logan nodded at them. “How are you today?”
Roman and Remus Prince were identical twins. Both sporting red hair (though Remus had dyed one strand grey in rebellion,) emerald eyes. Roman’s skin was a golden tan, while Remus’ was paler.
Roman was fit, with a jawline that was clean and sharp, a nose that was perfect, and white, perfect teeth. Remus had unhealthy circles underneath his eyes, and the beginnings of a mustache above his lips. His jawline was a bit less sharp, and his teeth weren’t as perfect, but he was still very handsome, in Janus’ opinion. He had this sort of ‘rugged, runaway royal’ vibe going on. It was difficult to explain.
Roman was wearing a red letterman’s jacket over a white sweatshirt, accompanied by a pair of jeans. His converse were a matching shade of red.
Remus, in contrast, was wearing a black sweater and a dark green jacket. His ripped jeans were black, as well as his shoes. Janus used to wear that jacket, only because it was Remus’ favorite. He wore it a lot, and, as a result, it smelled like him. Pine oak and cheap deodorant.
Janus huffed at his thoughts. It wasn’t the time for reminiscing.
“I’m doing very well, Nerdy Wolverine! And you?” Roman gave Logan a charming smile, only receiving a blank stare in return. He faltered a bit, shifting his attention to Virgil. “And how are you, My Dark and Stormy Night?”
“Lay off, Princey.” Virgil snapped, rolling his eyes. He narrowed his eyes at Remus. “You’re awfully quiet, Remus. Cat got your tongue?”
“Loving the mental image of a cat clawing my tongue out, Virgil.” Remus winked at him. “Really gorey.” He glanced at Janus, who didn’t even try to maintain eye contact.
“So, the project!” Roman clapped his hands together. “I already have tons of ideas!”
“Of course you do.” Virgil grumbled. Roman rose a brow.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked, scoffing a bit.
“Okay, does anyone know where to find the last guy? Patrick, or whatever?” Janus spoke up, not really wanting to listen to the argument that was about to spark.
“It’s, uh, i-it’s Patton.”
They all turned, spotting a mousey looking boy stood behind the twins. His hair, which looked soft to the touch, was a honey blond, falling in front of his bluebell eyes (which were hidden behind a pair of large, round glasses.) His peach skin was littered with freckles, a slight nervous blush coating his cheeks.
He wore a blue sweater, white overalls (which Janus didn’t think was very practical,) and white converse. The sweater was a bit too big, based on how his fingers were barely poking out of it. Speaking of his fingers, they were nervously playing with each other.
“Hello!” He waved shyly. “I-I’m Patton! Don’t worry about introductions! Mr. Knox already told me who you all were after class. Though, I already knew some of you.” Janus could swear that Patton’s eyes flicked over to Roman, the blush on his face intensifying.
“Great, we’re all here.” Logan looked at his watch. “Lunch ends in ten minutes. We should meet up somewhere after school to discuss specifics.”
“Mind if we sit with you?” Roman flashed his perfect teeth at them.
“I’d rather choke and die.” Virgil said.
“Aren’t you just a bundle of sunshine?” Roman snapped back, clearly annoyed.
“Kiss my ass, Princey.” Virgil retorted, causing Janus to snort.
“I don’t care.” Logan shrugged, returning to eating his sushi.
Roman, Remus, and Patton all sat down at the table. Naturally, Remus sat right next to Janus, who suddenly felt nauseous from anxiety.
He turned his body away as much as he physically could from Remus, who sighed.
Logan noticed, raising an eyebrow at Janus.
“So, Patty Cake,” Roman began, looking over at Patton, who immediately tensed up, “tell me about yourself. You’re the one I know the least about at this table.”
“M-Me?! Oh, I’m not very interesting, I assure you!” He laughed nervously, waving Roman off. “I’m sure you’re more interesting! With your jacket, and your muscles, and your beautiful eyes, and your soothing voi--” He stopped, going crimson.
Roman laughed a bit awkwardly, visibly confused. “Thank you?”
The rest of the table exchanged glances.
“Sorry! That must’ve been weird!” Patton stammered, frantically waving his arms around. “Especially from a person you’ve just met. Not that I don’t mean any of that! I-I just--”
“Woah--Relax! It’s fine!” Roman rushed to calm him down. Seeing that Patton was still nervous, he ran a hand through his hair, giving Patton a charming smirk. “Flattering, honestly.”
Patton went redder, putting his hands down. “Yeah.”
There was a moment of silence.
“...right, I have no clue what that was, but I think we should decide on a place to meet up.” Janus said, and they all nodded in agreement.
“There’s a cafe not far from here. Maybe a five minute walk? We could meet there.” Virgil offered.
“That sounds optimal.” Logan nodded, finishing off his sushi. “We should meet there directly after school.”
The bell rang.
“I’ll see all of you beautiful people later.” Roman gave them a wink, standing up. “Except for you, Hot Topic. You get on my nerves.” He said flippantly, before walking away.
“The feeling is mutual, fuckface!” Virgil shouted, and laughed when Roman shot him the bird.

Me writing everyone as a sympathetic character? More likely than you'd think
