Ch. 15
Remus had fallen to his knees before he could even register the sudden pain in his stomach. Remus groaned lowly, regretting rising up in his state.
"Remus?" Roman called, stepping out of the bathroom. "What--are you alright?! You look pale--well, paler than usual! What the actual hell is that puddle that's soiling my floor!" Roman rushed over and kneeled in front of Remus.
"I threw up." Remus moaned in pain. In different circumstances, he would've made a joke about him moaning with puke on the floor. He probably would've cooked up the plot for a porno that featured this moment.
"Are you sick?! We should stop!" Roman frowned, placing a hand to Remus' forehead. Remus shook his head fiercely in defiance.
"We can't--I don't want you to feel shitty--grrk--again." Remus stomach flared up, and he was beginning to think that something was seriously wrong with him. "'Mfine. My body doesn't like trying to play the good guy, Ro-Ro. It's trying to turn me inside out!" Remus giggled.
"This is no laughing matter!" Roman declared, eyebrows furrowed. "Remus this is serious! If this is going to happen everytime you try to act like me--"
"No no no! I just need a little longer! And plus, it only happens when I try to give advice to Thomas!"
"YOU THREW UP IN FRONT OF THE OTHERS?!"
"Ah, well, you see--"
"THE OTHERS AND THOMAS?!"
"It's fine! Look, Ro, I gotta go finish my breakfast so if you don't mind--"
"What--But--Remus--your stomach--"
"Pain faded," It was the truth, his stomach fit had dissipated.
"But--what about my carpet--"
"Cool, loathe you, bye!" Remus called over his shoulder as he promptly exited the room.
He was almost immediately dragged away by Logan. "What the--where are we going?"
"My room, I'm going to give you a check up."
"Why?" Remus asked. Logan gave him an unimpressed look.
"Are you braindead?" Logan asked. "Nevermind, I know the answer to that."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I could go on all day about that, but I'm already aggravated and would not like to spend more time with you than necessary." Logan huffed.
"Wow, you're just a ball of sunshine."
"If I was, you'd be dead right now." Logan mumbled, opening the door to his room.
"I wish I was dead right now."
"Okay, sit down." Logan said, conjuring a clipboard.
"On your bed?" Remus asked.
"No," Logan snapped and suddenly a medical bed was in the center of his room. "There. I would rather have you on that instead of my bed."
"Why?" Remus asked, sitting on the medical bed.
"You have a tendency to leave the scent of roses on the fabric you touch, and I don't want to fall asleep thinking of you and have you ruin my dreams."
"I love you too, Logan."
"Now, how do you feel?"
"Right now? I feel fine. Fresh as daisies and all that jazz." Remus shrugged. "Kinda hungry though. Can we go eat breakfast now?"
"No," Logan replied sharply.
"Jeez, harsh."
"Lie down." Logan said monotonously.
Remus obeyed. "So are you gonna stick a syringe up my--" He cut himself off, scolding himself internally.
He was Roman right now. Not Remus.
He was good right now. Good.
He was an actor, he could do this.
Then again, Roman had always been the better actor out of the two of them.
Without warning, Logan pressed a hand on Remus' stomach. "How does that feel?"
Don't make this sexual.
Don't make this sexual.
Don't make this sexual.
"Like I'm about to get fucked really hard."
Damn it.
Logan, who wasn't even listening, just nodded as he jotted something down on his clipboard. "Headache?"
"Nope, someone as beautiful as me doesn't get headaches!"
"You say as if I didn't catch you clawing at your hair and bawling at 5 AM in the common room." Logan rolled his eyes. "Sore throat?"
"Let's find out!" Remus opened his mouth to sing. "Into the unknow--"
Logan elegantly shoved a blank piece of paper from his clipboard into Remus' mouth.
"Are you feeling fatigued in any sort of way?"
Remus reached to grab the piece of paper out of his mouth.
"No no no," Logan said, grabbing Remus' hand and putting it back down. "It's a yes or no question, nodding will serve just fine."
Remus rolled his eyes as dramatically as he could before he spit the paper out. "I'm not feeling fatigued, my stomach doesn't hurt, my head feels dandy, my throat is clear, and I'm not feeling sore. Can I go?"
Logan stared at him for a moment. "...fine. Go eat, you're probably dehydrated anyways."
Remus beamed and skipped out of Logan's room.
Logan sighed, before writing something down on his clipboard.
• Something isn't right.

Virgil paused, before hesitantly knocking on the door.
He was scared. There was no denying it. Deceit was probably pissed at him after what happened last time they spoke. He needed to apologize.
The door opened, and a corpse-like Deceit opened the door. His eyes were wide as words came tumbling out of his mouth. "I just need a little more time! I swear I can find--" He cut himself off as he saw who was at the door. "Vir...gil...?"
"Uh--is everything alright?" Virgil asked, fiddling with the sleeve of his hoodie anxiously. "A little more time? For what?"
Deceit blinked, before regaining his composure. He glared at Virgil coldly. "What are you doing here? I thought our matters weren't of concern to you anymore."
Virgil winced. "A-Are you alright? You look like a zombie." Virgil's brow furrowed. "A little more time? Is someone threatening you, Dee?"
"I am a dark side, you are a light side." Deceit began, ignoring Virgil's questions. "You have no reason to interact with me anymore. You've made it painfully clear that you do not wish to remain friends. So I ask you again,"
Deceit leaned down so he was right in Virgil's face. "Why are you here?"
"I--"
"If you're here to ask if I had anything to do with Roman's performance today, the answer is no." Deceit spat.
Virgil curled in on himself slightly. That was exactly what he had wanted to ask. "U-Um--what about Remu--"
Deceit's icy glare turned even colder.
Virgil's question died in his throat. Remus was missing. God, Virgil felt stupid.
"C-Can you answer my questions, please? About the threatening thing?" Virgil murmured, looking down at Deceit's shoes.
Deceit chuckled sarcastically. "You don't have time for that, wouldn't want someone to catch you here." Deceit frowned.
"I'm sorry, okay? What was I supposed to do?" Virgil stammered, suddenly angry. "Logan was making me choose between the two of you! I had to make a choice!"
"Is that supposed to make me feel better? The fact that the boy I raised chose being popular over me?" Deceit scoffed. "You never had to make a choice, you could've just walked away."
"I-I--"
"You should probably head back, the others will start to worry." Deceit said. "Goodbye, Anxiety."
And with that Deceit closed the door in Virgil's face.
