Chapter 4
A/N: I'm tired, so you get this thing. I don't feel like explaining it twice.
"Welcome back, class," Power Loader said amicably as he slunk over to his lectern. A few students greeted him back, though it ended in a cacophony of words. "Seeing you all are terribly tired, I see it fit to pass on important messages." The sarcasm was not lost on the class. "For my elective students, I've already graded your designs and you can see them with your tablets. Recovery Girl's students can expect to have their next class coincide with another class's training, so try to be friendly with your seniors. And Hound Dog just asked that I mention his office is open to anyone who needs to talk, no matter the topic."
Quite a number of students perked up at the morning's news. Izuku was one of them, but not out of excitement. Fear and anxiety rolled over him at the mention of his grade. His very first one at UA by the looks of it. Expectations may have been low, but he believed his performance to fall short by a large margin.
That may have to do with the fact that he had given Mei only a C for her submission, but he didn't think too much about that. After all, she was only far more experienced than him and obviously superior when it came to inventing machines. No worries to be had there, only failures that were bound to happen.
Maybe he should talk to Hound Dog. Although he doubted anyone could handle his problems, even if they were a trained professional.
But homeroom held little appeal for the rest of the morning. It was an important class, of course. Izuku just had little need for a class discussion on the areas of the support course and types of heroes. His obsession with heroes did come with a fair share of knowledge on the industry. That and he went over all the courses of UA during the week.
Still, his mind was racing. He would be going into the workshop today. Probably. If his design got a failing grade, he doubted that he would be allowed in. There was a chance though!
So the day passed by in a haze. Even the gossip mill during lunch failed to grab Izuku's attention. Throughout the day, his hand ghosted over his tablet. He never checked his grade. Going into his elective for the day, he remained withdrawn with his gaze always lingering on his bag.
Then Mei was sitting on his desk.
Were her legs always that thick? Or was it just her stockings?
"You look like you're about to explode," she commented with a slight grin.
"Oh." The window was extraordinarily interesting right about now. "I've just got some things on my mind."
"What kind of things? Cause you've got the same look you get when you draw up an upgrade that I didn't think of. Wait, what did you design?"
"Just a capture weapon. It came to me last night." He refused to make eye contact. It would be hard enough to look up without getting distracted.
"But what does it do? Is it like that net gun I tried to make? I still owe you for being my target, but I'm not deleting those pics." He looked down at the school grounds. Was he really that far up? "Fine, I'll check it. Let's see it should be in this pocket."
"Hey! That's mine!" Izuku whipped around and reached for his tablet.
Unfortunately for the boy, Mei pushed him back with one of her hands while the other opened the tablet with an incredibly obvious password. Izuku really should get other hobbies. "Oh, glue gun, huh? Don't think I've thought of that one before. I bet that'll be fun to build."
Izuku, seeing his tablet out of reach, pulled Mei closer. On the bright side, he had his device back. Though he didn't quite consider having Mei tangled into his lap a suitable cost for it.
Being the embarrassed virgin that he was, he tried to scramble out of the contact.
And since he was a high school student with abnormal hair, his teacher walked in at the moment.
He really hoped someone had a memory-erasing Quirk.
Power Loader only stared at the two students. Then he cleared his throat and said, "You two seem awfully familiar."
"I swear it was an accident!" shouted the bushy-haired boy.
"I'm sure it was." That was most certainly not convincing. "Just make sure to keep your activities out of the workshop. Else I'll have to kick you out."
"Yes, sir!" The two replied, jolting out of their position with the warning.
He was not going to ever live that moment down. Mei was not going to let him live that down.

A B plus.
While quite detailed, you are missing certain specifics that are crucial to your gadget. This adhesive isn't specified nor how the adhesive would be applied. Application is important, but I won't deduct too many points this time. There are also some things I would fix up with the nozzles, though you would learn about it during the engineering process. For now, you did well.
Izuku's thoughts came to a halt. There were no words for how he felt. Well, there were, but they were coming to him slower than usual. For one, he was overjoyed by the prospect that he had done well and received a better score than Mei.
After that, it was squealing.
In all fairness, he had been nervous about it all day. There was no way he wouldn't be jumping around, shouting, smiling, or squealing. All in the privacy of his room, of course. Somehow that part didn't make it better.
He could rest easy though. He would be ready for the workshop when Power Loader set the class loose. It was still odd to him, but blessings seemed to drop into his lap when he needed them. They were only introduced and guided around the studio instead of working, he was given a good grade for his design, and he was actually attending UA.
One would think he was used to it after the first week, but nope, he still had to check that he wasn't dreaming. Or having a nightmare. His homeroom teacher essentially held blackmail over him. The rest of the class did too, but they weren't very outspoken. Something he was grateful for. He didn't need people teasing him about how Mei didn't know what personal space was.
But knowing the support course, the incident would be swept under the rug and never have any time in the spotlight. At least, that was what Izuku hoped.
The hero course always had something special going on.
"Huh, isn't Katsuki in the hero course?" mumbled the green-haired boy, "Oh my god, he's in the hero course!" Scrambling for his phone, he swiped through his contacts. When it was picked up, he asked, "Hey, um, Aunt Mitsuki, how's the, uh, hero course going for, you know?"
"Zuku! Been a while since you've called!" the woman shouted, "What's the sudden worry for the brat? Did he do something at school?"
"N-No! I was just wondering," he gestured oddly as he thought of something to say. "I hear a lot about the hero course, so I just started thinking. Everyone's always talking about the big ol' heroes, so I was wondering what was going on. But I don't really know anyone that well."
"Don't worry 'bout the brat. He'll simmer down soon enough." Speaking of simmer, he could hear her cooking. At least, that's what he thought it was. When things were sizzling in the Bakugo household, it could be one of many things. "Maybe you could get some of that tech magic going for him. I'm sure it'll get him crawling back for more."
"Crawling?" repeated the shocked boy, "I don't need that! No, I don't want that at all! I was just checking in, I swear!"
"Oddly defensive, aren't you," Mistuki purred, "If I didn't know any better, you started playing for the other team."
"Look at the time! I've got homework to do! Bye, Auntie!" Hanging up, he threw his phone across his bed. Head held in his hands, he groaned. "I'm never going to live that down. What is up with today?"
