You come on me like a current,
sweet water to ease my soul
In the dead of the night, when evil lurks and shadows tempt me,
You are there beside me

I cannot tell in words how much you mean to me, Lord.
You are my light, my hope, my life;
my anchor in the storms, my shield and sword in battle.
If not for You, Lord, I wouldn't be here.

Praise be to the One who carved out the oceans and brought life into existence.
Praise the God who breathed you into this world,
who speckles you with His fingerprints.
Who knows your depths and faults and loves you still.
Who died for you on that tree, on that hill.

Exalt His Name, Children of the Most High!
You are chosen and priceless, never to be reclaimed by death or evil.
For He is the Lord, and His life which He has given is everlasting.
And you, once a beggar, a sinner on his way to the noose, are His treasure.
