My grandma has dementia
And I really would betcha
That if you saw both sides
You would want to die inside

She used to remember
That my birthday's in September
Now she can not
Even though she aught

She used to take me to the zoo
Now she's rather sleep till two
She used to take me to the park
Now she'd rather watch hallmark

As she continues to change
I will watch her age
I miss the old version
But now I make a diversion

As I watch her slowly die
I get ready to say good bye
I will always love you
