I once knew a man,  a very friendly one of course

He once knew a girl, very shy one at first

I wanted to know him, so I did

He wanted to know me, but I hid

We talked and talked, over and over every night

But something just didn't seem quite right

I knew his fears, his happiness, his loss, and his wealth

But he only knew what I let him,  I was afraid to tell

I thought he would leave, if he saw through me

But turns out he kept secrets too

When I found out, he ran away

But really, I needed him to stay

But did I need him?

Was there truly any reason?

We met months later, at a café

We said our sorrows and our truth

We were so similar yet we didn't understand

The two lovebirds were too late

The man that came back found a knew soulmate

She thought everything was over,

She cried until her wrists bled,

She had nothing left to live for

Her family was gone

Her love was gone

No home, no phone

So she decided to use that string

Around the beautiful porcelain doll that was herself

Tied it around her neck and a light

And left
