It seems like so long ago,
When the twins dropped down to go.
Their end was near,
As everyone screamed in fear.

No one knew what to do,
As they watched the first airplane fly through.
It wasn't long after that disaster,
The second one followed on after.

Everyone who saw it, saw a slow time-lapse,
As the southern town collapsed.
Sirens came up and down the roads,
As officers gave out dated codes.

Many lives were lost to get people out,
Many even tried to shout.
Some tried to run farther and farther,
As others searched the rubble for their mother and father.

The whole country stopped in time that day,
People held hands together and prayed.
The country came together as one,
As everyone prayed for every mother, father, daughter, and son.

September 11th, 2001

It was a day that was said the United States stopped in time.
Many lives were lost that day, not only at the World Trade Center, but also at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania.

This is for the hardship, the worst to have hold,
For a family to lose someone they cared dearly for.

So just stop for a moment of silence if you will.
