Icarus Was Right
A large hand reaches out of the sky
Only to grasp at nothing but air
Escaping his clutches, a child to fry
His wings stuck to his back
Adventure is a simple thing
Moving from place to place
Adventurousness makes your ears ring
From the thrill of it all
He reached to interlock hands
With the suns gentle fingers
But suddenly, in the ocean he lands
Only to die a sailors death
His father wept his floating corpse
As elegant as it may seem
His body left adrift to find ashores
Icarus was right all along
