Versification 2026 | Twisted_taleso7

Welcome or welcome back to Poesy!

Here we interview the rising poets of Wattpad.

In this special edition, we interview one of our Versification winners 2026: Twixie (Twisted_taleso7).

Enjoy!

Q: Share your view of poetry in 5 words.

Twixie: Emotion, Beauty, Truth, Art & Soul.

Q: How did you discover the art of poetry?

Twixie: I discovered poetry through my English teacher when I was in Class 10. She was very fond of poetry and had encouraged me to write a poem for our school magazine. That was my first experience with writing poetry, and since then, I've really enjoyed it.

Q: How do you decide on the structure and form of your poems?

Twixie: I don't really follow a fixed structure for poetry. I'm more of a free-style writer, and I let it flow naturally. Sometimes I write rhyming poems, but it mostly depends on the topic/feeling I want to express.

Q: Is there something besides written word you would consider poetry? If yes, what?

Twixie: Yes. I think paintings, and even nature can be poetry. Sometimes emotions can be expressed without words, and that's beautiful in its own way.

Q: What are some other genres you like to write in? Does poetry have an influence in that and vice-versa?

Twixie: I also enjoy writing Fanfiction, especially romance, fantasy and emotional stories. Poetry has helped me express emotions better in my stories, and writing stories has also helped me make my poems more meaningful.

Q: What is an aspect of poetry people often forget about?

Twixie: People often forget that poetry doesn't have to be perfect. It just needs to come from the heart.

Q: Which prompt was the most fun? What made it so fun?

Twixie: That's definitely prompt 20, "Brilliant," was the most fun for me!

I really loved how open the prompt was because everyone has their own idea of what "brilliant" means. Instead of something obvious, I wrote about the night sky and how its quiet beauty made me think about people, life, and the different ways we shine. It felt very perfect to write, and I'm really happy with how the poem turned out!

Q: Which of your entries are you the proudest of? What makes it special?

Twixie: I'm proudest of Prompt 5 (Tranquil), The 'Art of Stillness' and Prompt 31 (Poetry), 'Rhythms of open Soul' because both of them feel very personal to me.

The 'Art of Stillness' is special because I wrote it during a difficult time in my life. It shows the peace and calm everyone searches for (even ones in life). I couldn't really share my feelings with anyone then, so I poured them into the poem instead. Writing it felt comforting and made that difficult time a little less painful.

'Rhythms of open Soul' is also special because it expresses what poetry truly means to me. It reflects my love and how I see poetry as something that gives emotions a voice and shows feelings that are often hard to put into words.

Q: What was the hardest prompt to write for? Why?

Twixie: Prompt 13 (Regret), Echo of "If Only," was the hardest for me to write because it was inspired by the personal experience of someone very close to me. Putting those emotions into words wasn't easy. I wanted to do justice to their feelings without losing the honesty of the moment. It was emotionally heavy to write, but I think that's also what made the poem so meaningful.

Q: Did you write differently for the contest than you do normally? For example, did you edit differently?

Twixie: Not really. I wrote the poems the same way I normally do. The only difference was that I paid a little more attention to making sure each poem expressed the prompt well while still keeping my own writing style.

Q: Is there an entry by another poet you particularly enjoyed? Which one?

Twixie: Yes! Two entries really stood out to me. The first was Prompt 2, "Moonlight," by VidaVivido. It felt like reading a fairytale! The imagery was so beautiful and magical that I could picture every scene while reading it. The second was Prompt 8, "Independent," by EmmaJD2801. It immediately reminded me of 'The First Flight', the story of the little seagull learning to fly. It gave me that same feeling of fear slowly turning into courage, and I found it really emotional and memorable.

Q: What was your favorite thing about the contest?

Twixie: My favorite thing about the contest was the experience itself! Writing a new poem every day was really fun and pushed my brain to be creative. I also got to make friends with many amazing poets, and it was exciting to write alongside my incredibly talented poet friends! The whole event felt encouraging and inspiring from start to finish.

Q: How did you discover Wattpad?

Twixie: I discovered Wattpad through my (cousin) sister in 2023. She introduced me to the app, and once I started reading, I quickly fell in love with it. Later, I began writing my own stories and poems in 2025.

Q: What made you publish your work on Wattpad?

Twixie: My sister deserves all the credit for this too. I used to write stories just for fun, mostly for drama events and sometimes romance. She kept insisting that I should publish them on Wattpad, and after a lot of her very persistent encouragement (or, honestly, her unbearable nagging), I finally posted my first story, ''Beneath the Shadows'' a Taekook fanfiction. What surprised me the most was the love and support I received from readers. I never, in my entire life, thought my stories would be read and appreciated by so many people. Their encouragement gave me the confidence to keep writing. Now I write because I love it and this time, without any nagging from my sister. 😄

Q: What is your favorite thing about being an author on Wattpad?

Twixie: My favorite thing about being an author on Wattpad is definitely the readers. As a fanfiction writer, especially for Taekook romance, I've met so many wonderful ARMY friends and incredibly supportive readers. I've also made amazing writer friends, both BTS fanfic writers and original fiction writers. The community is one of the best parts of my writing journey, and I'm really grateful for all the friendships I've made.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share?

Twixie: Thank you so much for having me! 💙 It honestly means a lot to be interviewed as one of the Grand Prompt Winners!! I'd also like to thank the Poetry Team for organizing such a wonderful event. Versification pushed me to write outside my comfort zone, challenged my creativity, and introduced me to so many talented poets. It wasn't just a contest, it felt more like a community where we are encouraged and learned from each other. Thank you again for this amazing experience!
