Isolation
I thought every moment would last,
That I would be somebody different,
But that unravelled pretty fast,
The season's change, and soon,
spring is here,
I'm clearly delusional, but that wasn't clear,
I can feel the pain again after so many years,
It creeps to the surface,
I can no longer face my fears,
I tackle it head-on as it takes away a piece of my soul,
For how can I know that I'm truly myself,
As I yearn back for my self-control,
The scars run deep,
They are mine to keep,
Please spare me the details as I swirl in my grief,
Have I improved,
For only time will tell,
Until then, my life will prevail.

A/N
I wrote this in a space of ten minutes whilst waiting outside MacDonald's.
