Somebody once asked me, how do you know when you've found the one? 

My one drives me crazy, 

because there are days where he is pretty lazy. 

Then he tries to make it up to me, 

by calling me baby. 

My one cooks and makes a mess, 

and it's my turn to clean the rest. 

I don't mind because we're a team. 

We reach high and lows to the extreme. 

My one buys me my favourite drink, 

even if it's expensive, 

he buys it without blinking. 

He puts a smile on my face, 

tells me bad jokes just to make me laugh. 

He is my own special embrace. 

A giraffe, my soul and my other half. 

He causes butterflies in my stomach, 

as excitement fills my body. 

My favourite date was eating extra cheesy pizza, 

and visiting the beaches. 

We drink soda whilst sitting on cars, 

watching as Corona destroys everything in our paths. 

It's my time to leave. 

I won't be far. 

Just look up at the stars and I will be with you, 

wherever you are. 

I will be like a scar. 

Nine years together, and we're still standing. 

Every day our love keeps expanding. 

Soon our love will turn a century, 

perhaps we should make a documentary. 

And that's how I know that he is "the one." 

He makes me happy. 

I wouldn't change a thing,

and that is because for me, he is my King. 

A/N 

This week has been pretty tough and that's mainly why I haven't been as active as normal. I wrote this poem because I had to make a decision; either to leave my husband for 8 months or to go back home to see my parents. 

I got as far as the airport and had an issue, then I realised that it's hard for me to leave my husband, for whom I've spent 11 months with prior. When you've been in a long distance relationship for 9 years, it's tough just to drop what we have. "The one" isn't perfect and they won't look like Greek Godess, but they will (should) treat you right. He/ She should make you genuinely happy. 

So, once I embarrassed myself in front of the main terminal, I ran back to him. 

I'm still going through issues with my parents, so bare with me.
