Neo watched as Delta went red, mumbling curses in his mind. He stood up and ruffled his hair. He really was adorable. His freckles, his dark hair, his sour mood. It was still a little odd to Neo, but he didn't care. He had a friend now! Even if Delta didn't want one.

'Are you done yet, asshat.' Neo heard Delta think. He giggled once more, before stopping.

"Yeah, I'm done. Though I really do wish you'd stop cursing." Neo said with a smile. Delta looked in Neo's direction and cocked his head to the side, flipping Neo off.

"Awww, thanks, but I don't really have to vomit right now." He said snarkily, and Delta huffed internally. Delta's eyes fluttered for a moment, and Neo could feel the waves of exhaustion coming from his mind. How long had he been wondering in the halls like that?

Neo grabbed onto Delta's hand, pulling him downwards toward Neo on the bed. Neo felt Delta's cheeks go red as the two boys snuggled. Delta tried to pull away, but Neo wouldn't let him.

'whAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING.' Delta thought with fake rage. Neo pulled the covers over them both.

"You're tired. Let's go to sleep!" he said happily. He had never had a friend before, so really everything was new-ish to him. After a few flustered grumbles that Neo didn't try to decipher, Delta floated into sleep.

And then, so did Neo.

Neo awoke to find Delta hanging onto him for warmth. In sleep, Delta was so much calmer. And so were his thoughts, he would have assumed.

But that wasn't true.

Neo found that Delta was plagued with awful nightmares, and shuddered at the thought. But when he got closer to Delta, the nightmares seemed to subside. Neo became giddy with happi(gay)ness again, and snuggled closer to Delta, who's thoughts of fear and rejection had dulled into a pleasant hum of comfort. 

Delta soon awoke, and upon realizing that he was cuddling with Neo, almost smiled. But his sour mood snapped quickly into place, and he pulled himself away from Neo. Neo couldn't possibly understand why. But to Neo, it was all the same. He gave Delta a hug, and led him back to the little hall where he slept, with a pillow and some food. Neo planned to slowly refurbish the entire area, and help Delta feel more comfortable and less salty.

'Thanks, asshat.' Delta said while flipping Neo off. Neo smiled.

"No problem, Delta!"
