I felt a tap on my body but I slapped the hand away, the tap continued and I had no other choice than to open my eyes, that was when I realized we were already in the morning.

"Ah, it's morning already, why didn't you wake me? I've missed IVY class this morning," I rushed out of the bed and headed out of the room only to realize they weren't following me.

"Have you guys had your bath nii?" I turned back to Bimpe and Doyin who had a mischievous smile on their face.

"We haven't taken our bath," Doyin replied and I creased my brows.

"Why?"

"Today is public holiday," Bimpe announced and my eyes widened before it turned into a frown.

"Why did you na wake me?" I rushed towards them, and they split up quickly before erupting into laughter.

"It's funny that you woke up late today, we were worried, being the first person that always wakes up, it surprised us that you were still sleeping," Doyin explained amidst laughter and I rolled my eyes.

"I was tired," I yawned before climbing my bed, and they joined me.

"Tired indeed, when you left with Khalid only to come back late why won't you be tired?" Bimpe eyed me.

"You missed the part that I came back late from the public speaking," I eyed her in return, and she chuckled.

"But you guys went out together and Bimpe got back to the hostel early," Doyin countered. Bimpe and I had represented the school the previous day, and we'd gone to the same place.

"Abi oo," Bimpe added.

"It's because you didn't see Kunmi, we all know that if you'd seen him, you won't be back until this morning."

"Ah ahn," they both said in unison and I smiled.

"You can exaggerate sha," Bimpe added and I smiled.

Doyin readjusted her sitting position beside me, "Eh ehn, Bimpe told me you were given a generator and the school took it."

I pursed my lips, "Yes oo, as if I don't need it too or I can't sell it, this our school, they're big thieves, thank God they gave us money sha..."

Bimpe cut in, "Money that is still with Mr. Nala and the school."

"They'll sha give us on the assembly tomorrow," I said.

"That's if they don't split the money, you remember how they split me and Khalid's money when we went out for Olympiad last week," Doyin reasoned and I nodded.

"It's because the two of you are stupid, they know better than to do that to Bimpe and I, when is not that they want to die, I trust Mr. Nala sha, he knows he can't do such and the school after collecting my generator, they'll now split the money again, how much is even the money they want to split?"

"I was awarded fifty thousand while you were given thirty," Bimpe enunciated.

I nodded, "So, they'll na split that one, when it's not as if they're crazy."

Bimpe wanted to respond but the appearance of a junior student stopped her.

"Senior Bimpe, Mr. Nala wants to see you."

We all shared a look before Bimpe talked, "Why? Where is he?"

"He's at the matron's place."

"Okay, you can go."

After the girl left, Bimpe turned to us.

"Why would he call me early in the morning, I hope there's no stupid competition sha because me I want to enjoy today oo," she complained.

"Have you forgotten today is children's day?" Doyin queried and we both turned to look at her.

"And so?" I shrugged before Bimpe's eyes widened.

"Oh, I've forgotten sha, we are going to Abeokuta today, you know that impromptu essay I went for two weeks ago, I'm receiving the award today," she explained.

"That's true sha," I nodded before she jumped down the bed.

"Let me go and see him," then she walked out of the room.

"Let's go and bath," I turned to Doyin immediately Bimpe was out of sight.

"Water isn't running from the tap so we have to fetch water," she told me and I squeezed my face.

"Where are the Juniors in this room?" I looked around the room only to realize Doyin and I were the only one present, others might have gone out to fetch water.

"Let's go and look for one junior," Doyin proposed, and we both got down from the bed before walking out of our room.

"Hey, the two of you, come here," Doyin pointed at the junior girls in front of Abimbola, they were leaning on the window of the room beside ours.

"Can't you see I'm talking to them?" Abimbola barked.

"We didn't notice someone was there, sorry we mistook you for a paper," I mocked, and she glared daggers at me before the junior students appeared in front of us.

"Go and fetch water for us," Doyin told them, and they nodded.

"They can't go anywhere, how will you be sending my school daughters to fetch water for you? If you need them badly look for Juniors that'll be your school daughters but I bet no one will want monsters as school mothers," she fired while Doyin and I erupted into laughter.

I clapped my hands sarcastically, "Good job dear, the thing is we are not cut out for this school mother and daughter stealing, all you do is steal these children food and provisions, your school mother isn't for guidance but stealing, you even still their money, oga oo, and your father is rich oo."

She glowered at me," You're stupid."

Doyin replied, "You're the stupid one, you're always the last option if you don't know, ask these girls if they haven't approached us to be their school mothers, it's because we are sensible, and they know we can protect them unlike you who only steals their money and teach them how to jump fence to visit the club."

Her nose flared and I feared she'll burst, she only hissed and walked into her room while the junior girls went ahead to fetch the water.

Doyin and I walked back to our room before settling down to converse.

"Monday is Bimpe and Kunmi's birthday oo," Doyin announced and I nodded.

"That's true sha, they'll start disturbing us now especially that Bimpe, I'm surprised that she hasn't started her ranting," I replied, and she laughed.

"Oh, she talked about it last night when you weren't back, she was like maybe we should throw a party."

I chuckled, "Party ke? Has she forgotten we are starting our exams that same Monday."

"Then we'll ditch the stupid exam, who exam epp?" Bimpe's voice came with an hint of laughter, and we both turned to the entrance.

"It's my sweet sixteen birthday for goodness’ sake and you expect me to write one foolish exam, nah, nah, nah," she shook her head and wriggled her index finger as she strolled into the room.

"It's your promotional exam we are talking about here oo, well, it won't be bad if you repeat sha," Doyin jeered and Bimpe eyed her before sitting beside me.

"It's not like we can't promote with our first and second term result likewise this term's test," Bimpe replied and I chuckled.

"It'll shock you like Barbed wire," I laughed, and she eyed me.

"But truly I'm annoyed my birthday isn't today or during the weekend, Kunmi and I would have scattered this hostel," she bragged and I rolled my eyes.

"We won't hear word now because you and Kunmi were born the same day," Doyin eyed her and I chortled.

"Am I the one that said you shouldn't be the same day with your boyfriend, please, stop envying us oo," she jested and I laughed.

"It's not like you guys were born the same day, Kunmi is older than you just the way we're all older than you, you're the youngest here," I broke her wings and she scowled at me. She despised hearing that she was the youngest amongst us.

She wanted to talk but the noise from the adjacent room beat her to it.

"It's like they're fighting there oo," Doyin announced, and we all sprawled to our feets instantly.

"I can't miss the show today," Bimpe shouted.

I turned to her, "Aren't you going to Abeokuta again?"

"That's still until ten."

"It's nine thirty now," Doyin enunciated and Bimpe shrugged.

"And so? Let's go and watch film jare," then we rushed towards the room adjacent to ours, other students were already there.

"At least I'm still a virgin, I don't go about sleeping with guys just because I want to belong, just because you want to wear designer shoes and bags, you sell your body," I heard Precious scream.

Bella recoiled a little before talking, "So? I'm still better than you in all ways."

Precious scoffed, "Better indeed, better by sleeping with old men enough to be your father, better by jumping the fence every night to look for customers, I wonder how you and Kaffy haven't gotten infected."

Kaffy who had been smiling all along got up from her bed, "Precious let your head be correct there oo, don't put my matter in your nonsense."

Precious glanced at her before hissing, "See, Bella it's better you use your brain, stop telling me to date that useless man, I don't want him, and he can't offer me anything."

Bella rolled her eyes, "I wonder what he even sees in you, it's not like you're fine or anything, we just want to help your life and you're here shouting."

Precious wanted to retort but the appearance of our hostel mistress stopped them, "Both of you, follow me," she ordered before leaving.

Precious and Bella glared at each other before following her while other students dispersed to their various rooms.

"Oga oo, they've been friends forever, and they're now revealing their secrets," Doyin started as we strolled back to our room.

"You should know people like them," I replied while Bimpe hissed.

"Wo, let me go and bath jare."

"Come back early, there'll be a party in the night," I told her, and she nodded before disappearing.
