"Hello?" Skye called as she opened the base door and walked in.
She rounded the corner to see Ward sitting at the kitchen table. He looked up and saw her.
"Skye," he sighed, relieved, and got up.
He was right in front of her in seconds. He pulled her into a warm hug.
Skye looked up at him. "Hey are you okay?"
"Yeah," Ward sighed. "I just thought I might've scared you yesterday and there was a possibility that I wasn't going to see you again."
Skye smiled and put a hand on the back of his head, running her fingers through his hair. "I told you that I would come back. You have to trust me."
Ward smiled back as Skye's hand ran down his neck and rested on his shoulder. He put his hand on the back of her head, pulled her head up, and kissed her.
Skye's smile grew bigger. "Okay now, we've got to get training."
Ward grinned. "Whatever you say, S.O."
Skye grinned back at him as he took her hand in his and walked down to the training room.

"Good job Ward," Skye told him as he shot fire balls into the wall. "I think that's good for today."
Ward smiled and walked over to Skye. "You're ending practice awful early. Is it because you want some extra time to hang out with your boyfriend?" Ward asked with a grin as he slipped his arm around her.
"No," Skye corrected with a smirk. "I wanted to end it early because I wanted to end it on a good note before you messed anything up."
Ward looked down at her, returning a smirk. "You little-"
Skye screamed as he grabbed her by the waist and started tickling her.
"Ward stop! Stop!" She laughed.
Ward stopped and flung her around so she was facing him. Skye smiled as their noses touched.
"So," Ward said and took her hand in his. "Since we do have some extra time, what do you want to do?"
Skye sighed. "I don't know. I told Coulson that I would be back soon."
"Well soon, doesn't mean now," Ward replied.
Skye looked up at him happily. "Okay."
She went over and sat down on the couch as Ward got them two glasses of wine.
"Oooh, fancy," Skye said with a smile as Ward sat down beside her. "I didn't know Coulson let you have wine in here."
Ward smiled back. "I don't think he knows."
Skye laughed and took a sip of her drink. Ward locked his hand with hers as he looked towards the empty wall in front of them.
"Imagine it," he said. "A giant flat screen tv sitting right there. You know how many dates we could have right here in front of-"
Skye started laughing. "Yeah like Coulson would let you have a tv here, let alone a flat screen! Are you kidding me?!" Skye started laughing harder.
Ward looked down at her as she laughed at him. "Skye it's not funny."
Skye looked up at him to see his expression which just made her laugh harder. Ward wrapped his arm around her and drew her in close.
"I love you," he said.
Skye smiled at him. Then they heard the door to the base open. They both leaped up.
"Did you hear that?" Ward asked.
Skye nodded. They crept around the corner to see Coulson closing the door.
"Hello guys," he said and looked them up and down. "I've come to check up on you. I want to see Ward's growth in his power."
Skye and Ward gulped.
"Um right," Skye said.
Coulson looked at her.
"Sorry," she sighed and shook her head. "I didn't know you had an ID card to get in here, you kind of caught me off guard. Let's go down to the basement."
They walked down to the basement as Ward stood in the middle on the mats. He lit up his hands and started demonstrating all of his tricks. He lifted up his fire ball, he shot fire all around him at a controlling pace, and he shot his fire balls out at the wall. He also created a fire wall around himself, that could be used for protection.
"Alright," Coulson said once Ward finished. "That was good. But what about combat. In the field you will be fighting Hydra agents. You'll need to have some combat skills that include your powers."
"Um-" Ward began.
"Well," Skye interrupted. "We haven't really covered that yet. We've only done that once and it wasn't really-"
"He needs to learn that too, Daisy," Coulson reminded.
"Daisy," Ward muttered to himself.
"And since you have powers and you are his trainer, then that means that you can do combat with him," Coulson went on.
"But-" Skye butted in.
"Alright," Coulson said. "Let's see it."
Skye sighed and shot Coulson a glare.
Ward stretched. "Finally. I've been waiting till we could do some combat work and I could see what May's been training you."
Skye rolled her eyes and ignored him as she walked over to stand in front of him. They soon began their match. Ward went for Skye's shoulder but she dodged him and kicked him in the thigh. Then she went for his stomach but he hit her in the arm. Then he kicked her in the leg which made her fall over and hit the floor, hard. She reached up her hand and shot out seismic waves, making him go flying back. He slid across the floor and groaned. But then he leaped up and shot out flames. Skye shot out more seismic waves and their powers met. They surged together, creating a big light. Skye pushed her power forward as it easily took over Ward's. He looked at Skye nervously. She grinned and shoved her hand forward. Ward lost his power as Skye took over. He flew back and ducked as his and Skye's powers came surging towards him. They crashed into the wall, leaving a large dent.
Ward looked up from where he was laying on the floor. He stared at Skye, shocked at her power. Coulson had the same expression. Skye folded her arms and raised an eyebrow.   She turned towards Coulson. "You said you wanted a demonstration. There you go. There's our typical combat with powers."
"W- wow," Coulson managed to say. "Do you know how great you guys would be as a TEAM?! YOU WOULD BE UNSTOPPABLE! DID YOU SEE IT WHEN YOUR POWERS SURGED TOGETHER?! THAT WAS AMAZING! FORGET ABOUT COMBATTING AGAINST EACH OTHER! PRACTICE WORKING TOGETHER WITH YOUR POWERS!"
Skye and Ward stared at him as he ranted.
"OKAY?!" Coulson asked them.
They exchanged nervous glances.
"Oh and Ward!" Coulson called as he turned to leave. "You've got a lot of work to do on becoming equally powerful as Daisy. She kicked your butt just now. Work on making your power.....you know.....more powerful! See you back at the base Daisy!"
He walked up the stairs and left. There was a silence. Skye looked at Ward uneasily. He got up from the floor and stormed over to her.
" 'Work on making your power more powerful?!' 'She just kicked your butt!' Are you kidding me?!" Ward yelled as he mocked Coulson.
Skye bit her lip nervously and started laughing as Ward came over to her. He wrapped his arms around her and looked down at his girlfriend.
"We should try combat without powers and see who wins then," Ward said and smiled down at Skye.
She smiled back and wrapped her arms around his waist. Then she leaned her head against him as they walked towards the front of the base.
"And why does he keep calling you Daisy! It's Skye! ITS ALWAYS BEEN SKYE!"
"Ward calm down!" Skye laughed and looked up at him. She briefly told him the Daisy story.
"Well I am NOT calling you Daisy," Ward declared. "You've always been Skye to me and you always will be Skye."
They stopped at the front door of the base as Ward turned towards Skye and wrapped his arms around her.
"My Skye," he added, and smiled down at her.
She smiled back. Ward leaned in and lightly kissed her.
"See you tomorrow," Skye said and slid her ID card through the stand by the door as the door opened.
Ward blew her a kiss as she turned to leave.
