The doctor raced up the stairs like a child jumping around on Christmas Day. He was desperate to find out but at the same time quite frightened.

He burst straight into the flat where Clara stood in the dress she had worn yesterday with a long dressing gown at her sides, holding a mug of tea. 'Down boy' she said as he panted for breath.

He smiled happy to see her.

She sat with her legs crossed on the sofa clutching a cup of tea like her life depended on it.

He however sat anxiously, you could compare him to dog begging for his owners attention but at the same time he sat relaxed, calmly and chilled his hands sprayed out along the arms of the chair.

He was anxious to hear her speak but she kept him waiting.

She spoke quietly, nervously and rather scared.

It all started last Tuesday...

It was the one chance I had to get to the shops before school started again next week. I was desperate to buy some new clothes.

However the only time I could go was right in the middle of a date.

You see, my father, being the man he is was worried for me. Thought I'd cut men off from my life. Which in fact was the opposite, I saw the doctor every Wednesday, sometimes more.

He was however insistent that I got my life together. So he made me meet this man for lunch. Dan. Who in fairness was a nice guy but not for me, I liked someone else.

I would have been fine with it if it hadn't had been in the middle of the only free time I had.

So agreed to have lunch with him against my wishes.

'Hey Clara? Isn't it?' He sat opposite me.

'Yeah, yeah.' I replied. 'Dan?' I ask politely.

'Yes' he replies.

So we talked and talked and turns out he is lovely. But there's something strange about him. Something, Not. Quite. Right.

'So uh, me and a few friends are checking out this new pub tomorrow night and I was wondering if you'd like to join?'

I declined. I was with the doctor tomorrow. Besides pubs weren't my thing.

'Actually I'm quite busy tomorrow, maybe some other time?' I offered nicely.

'Sure' he smiled.

I thought I'd never see him again, turns out I did.
