Ch 2 - Pt 6
-Chapter 2-
Part 6
After I had finished the man had gone to bed laying in the room leaving the door slightly ajar. I resumed to clean the bowl and spoon leaving it there next the mug. The coffee was too dark for my tastes but I wasn't going to complain aloud. I was going to take what I could get and the old man had offered.
"Aw...christ...", groaned a voice.
I turned to see the stranger looking around suspiciously. He tried to sit up painfully.
"Easy, easy", I said.
The man looked up his blue eyes bright but he adjusted himself not listening.
"Still a pain in my a**", I muttered holding the bowl of stew in my hands.
"Where are we?", he asked looking around. Right, he just woke up and didn't have a clue as to where we were. Technically I didn't know either. Specifically at least.
"The old man let us stay. He's sleeping", I said as he looked towards the room over to his right.
"With a shotgun", I added. The stranger glared at me. "You are willing to stay with a man who could shoot us?", he asked.
"You f***ing wanted me dead and I still keep you around despite that", I snapped.
"I could leave", he threatened.
"I don't give a sh** if you do or not. I'm not f***ing dying with or without you", I said.
"You think there is still something left in this world even after what you saw?! You think there is still something here for you!? Just for you!? Waiting just for you!? You almost got us killed!", he yelled standing suddenly.
"Look pal you really want to know what I think?!", I yelled back.
"Yes! What do you think?! You think there is something left in this world?! You are insane! The world is going to end!", yelled the stranger.
"I don't think God would let the world go to sh**! I don't think he works that way! I know he gave up his own son for our sins or at least that's...that's what I've been told! If he was willing to sacrifice his own son for the sins of every damned human being then I don't think...Hell! I refuse to f***ing believe that he would do sh** like this! Because if he wanted to get rid of us he could just lift his finger and go poof! But no! All this crap and mother f***ing sh** is happening! And sh** happens because somewhere we humans screwed up big time! Because we always do!", I yelled.
The man fell silent, "You don't know him like I do!", he hissed.
"No! Hell I don't know him! But you don't know him like I do!", I yelled.
"All I know him from are from the books and stories that people told! And the bible was written by a man! It's too human! And yes, we exaggerate at times but my God would not do this! A forgiving God wouldn't dare do this! Because if he wanted to get rid of me he already would have long ago when I screwed up and killed the family's daughter when I made the stupid a**kicking regretful f***ing choice to drive while intoxicated!", I yelled.
