i don't give a shit if ur offended by period jokes & have gone to the extent to unfollow me for it ????? honestly grow the fuck up man

dan

"hey dan?" it was probably the fifth time phil was saying this, amusement still lurking in his tone and i sighed, lifting my head to look at him slightly.

"you're having too much fun, irritating the hell out of me," i commented, watching as phil's face broke into a guilty grin and i just shook my head. he's so fucking cute sometimes.

right now we were in phil's car, his fingers tapping carelessly on the steering and his eyes focused on the road, or what was visible of it between the endless traffic.

"it's been fifteen minutes, i would rather just walk home than sit in this stupid fucking car," i complain, resting my head against the window glass, my foot tapping impatiently on the car floor.

"get out and walk home then, it'll save me some time as well," phil shrugged and i just glared at him, to which he just laughed at me again, shaking his head in amusement.

"why are you in such a bad mood? lighten up a bit," one of his hands lifted from the steering to poke my side and i just swatted his hand away, a small laugh escaping my lips once he clutched his hand in mock pain.

i returned my gaze back outside the window, lazily slumping against the seat and resting my forehead against the glass, watching the traffic slowly move around us. the sun was beginning to set, and when i checked my phone for the time, it was almost five.

"can i turn on the radio?" phil asked after a while and i just nodded mindlessly at him, my slight annoyance towards not being able to curl up in blanket was dissolving once ed sheeran's voice rang through the car.

it was barely four chords in, and serenity was already pooling in my stomach, a small smile stretching across my lips as i tapped my fingers inaudibly against my knee.

"you like that song?" phil asked, turning his gaze towards me momentarily and i just bit my lip and nodded at him.

"why don't you sing it for me then?" he demanded casually and i rolled my eyes, tilting my head back to rest it against the leather headrest.

"no thanks," i denied. i really wasn't in the mood to sing, especially for phil because i know what he's going to say. he will either say that i did better than he expected or that i need a lot of training, and i'm really vulnerable to insecurity issues right now so anything that comes out of his mouth will make me want to kill myself.

"come on, it'll help me assess what kind of instruments and what kind of music compliments your voice," he pushed, reaching forward and expectantly lowering the volume and i just sighed, keeping my eyes fixed on the bright red car that is moving torturously slow ahead of us.

"dan?" he called once i didn't reply and i just let out a loud breath. the second verse was about to start anyway so it wouldn't take that long.

"settle down with me," i opened my mouth hesitantly, my voice slow and strained, and i tried to relax my throat as much as possible because i know the pitch is going to climb higher up the scale.

"my heart's against your chest, your lips pressed to my neck," i sound more composed now, and i knot my fingers together in my lap, fiddling my thumbs nervously.

"i'm falling for your eyes," i glance at phil momentarily to see his reaction, and he just has his lips pursed, hands gripping the steering tightly.

"i'm in love now," my eyes fall shut as i try to block out the voice in my head that's telling me that i'm terrible, and i focus more on the way my lungs expand and my breathing regulates. i can hear the volume slowly dropping, causing my voice to be louder and clearer, and soon i can only hear the instruments playing for assistance.

"kiss me," the scale ascends, so does my heart beat, and even though i know i'm reaching towards the end of the song and i should be relieved, there is anxiety clawing at my stomach. i know phil is going to make a bad remark.

when the last of the chords play and the lyrics are repeating i don't bother to sing along, i just shift uncomfortably in my seat and scoot away from phil, the left side of my body pressed against the car door.

phil has turned off the song completely now, and his eyes travel towards me for a mere second before he speaks.

"so, that was okay," phil begins and i already look away from him. "obviously you need—

"yeah phil i know i need training and that you think i'm not good enough of a singer and that i somehow did better than you expected. i know that okay? you don't have to say it every time," i ramble in annoyance, and when i look over at phil his lips are slightly parted in shock at the harshness in my tone.

"i have to say that because i am supposed to be mentoring you and help you get better—"

"but it's really not helping," i cut him off again. "you saying that every time i sing something or play something just makes me feel like shit and like i want to stop singing altogether," i admit, running a hand through my hair in frustration.

i am surprised when he removes one of his hands from the steering wheel and grips my thigh, his thumb rubbing across the jeans clad surface soothingly.

"alright i'm sorry about that," he says, voice calm and tone soft and i can feel my cheeks flushing almost instantly. "we should talk about this and figure out what motivates you okay? the people i have worked with need me nagging them all the time so i thought you'd be the same but it's okay if you don't feel comfortable with that," he says and i just nod bashfully, trying to make the red in my cheeks disappear.

we sit in silence for the next ten minutes, and i finally open my mouth to give him the directions to my place. soon phil is pulling into my driveway, the area surrounded by colourful buildings and sparse trees and when phil stops the car he looks around curiously.

"where do you live?" he asks as i unbuckle my seatbelt and i just point at the building to his right.

"there, fifth floor," i tell him and he nods, fingers tapping against the steering wheel awkwardly. i quickly grab my bag and get out of the car, stepping around it to reach phil's side.

when phil rolls down the window, i bend over slightly, resting my arms on the window ledge.

"thanks for driving me," i tell him, giving him a small smile. he hasn't been that big of a dick today. "and for the lunch,"

"no problem," he brushes it off, lips pulled into a charming smile as always.

"see you tomorrow at..eight?" he raises his eyebrows in question and i just groan.

"please make it ten," i whine. i am in a desperate need to sleep.

"nine thirty?" he compensates and i just grin at him, nodding my head frantically. oh thank goodness.

he just laughs in response, his hand raising to cup my cheek, and he leans forward to press a kiss dangerously close to my mouth.

"see you tomorrow baby," is all he whispers before winking at me, and i don't know how many times is phil lester going to leave me like a blushing mess.
