Elena had been dreading this day for months. She had enjoyed spending time with her lover after not seeing them for so very long yet they had to go back Japan. "It won't be long El." She sighed clinging onto them her arms wrapping tightly around their upper torso.

"I know but I'll still miss you for those three months." They pulled away kissing her forehead then her lips. They stood in her doorframe for a while longer just holding hands and making promises. "You promise you'll come back." They smiled.

"I always do El." She sighed tugging on their camo jacket slightly. "I have to go, love you Elena." She smiled weakly watching them leave with a few members in their battalion.  Goodbyes would always be the hardest thing she would ever have to do yet the joys of seeing her soldier come home would always be worth it.
