01 | Level Five
Livid.
That was exactly how I was feeling over the course of the hours that had passed since I woke up in this white room. I screamed and banged at the door, praying someone would had seen me in the camera and would let me out of this locked room. No one came. No matter how loudly I screamed and cried out. I didn't know what this place was exactly and I just wanted to see my people again-- to see Jasper and Bellamy again.
Bellamy had to be here.
I pushed myself away from the blank, white wall and crossed the room to the door. Peering through the round, cut out window, I stared across the hallway at Jasper's opened door to his room. My fingers latched around the door handle as my mouth fell open. The room was empty. The bed inside of his room was made up with no signs of Jasper nearby.
I slammed my right fist against the door and yelled out, "Jasper! Jasper?"
Where the hell was my brother? If the people here did anything to harm my brother, I would do twice as worst to them. No one was allowed to lay a hand on him. I wouldn't allow it.
I screamed louder and pounded my fists against the door. I took a couple of steps backward until I had the black camera in view. My hands waved around in front of it, hoping I captured whoever's attention that was watching me.
"Where the hell is my brother?" I shouted at the camera again. "What did you do to him? Where are my people?"
I spun around in the room, silently deciding I wasn't going to wait around any longer for someone to come to my room. Quickly, I scanned the room for anything I could use to break out of here with. The ceilings were too high for me to try and climb through the vents. My eyes locked on the IV stand next to the bed I woke up on. In a matter of seconds, I managed to pull the stand apart and held the upper, metal pipe in my hand.
I was getting out of this place and planned on finding my people. My grip on the pole tightened as I drew it back, ready to ram the end of it against the glass. A moment of hesitation passed through me as I saw a familiar blonde head of hair pass by my door.
"Clarke..." I breathed in shock.
She was wearing a similar outfit to mine, except that wasn't what caught my attention as she passed by. Clarke had a broken piece of glass held in her hand, pressed up against some unknown girl's throat. Did she break out of her own room, like I was seconds away from doing?
Without a second thought, I slammed the end of the pole against the glass of the door. The glass broke into large pieces and left enough of a jagged hole for my hand to slide through, unlocking the door. I pulled my arm back through the hole, gasping in pain when a sharp piece of glass sliced through the pale skin of my forearm. Blood immediately began to stream down my arm. I ignored the sharp, stinging pain in my arm and forced the door open, stepping out into the hallway.
"Wren?"
I sharply twisted around to the right, noticing Clarke and the other girl not too far away down the hallway. I grimaced at the small piece of glass I stepped on. "Clarke." A relieved feeling washed through my body at the sight of her. I wasn't fully alone.
My eyes floated down to the brunette girl held against Clarke's chest. She was quietly crying to herself, dark eyes repeatedly glancing down at the slightly bloody and jagged piece of glass in Clarke's hand. A close replica of the cut on my arm was seen on Clarke's, as if she had broken out of her room the same way I had.
The two of us shared a look, silently understanding that we needed to find the others. The brunette girl looked at me with a pleading look, like she wished I would do something to stop Clarke from holding her hostage. I pressed my hand to my bleeding arm and walked up to the girl with a determined look in my eyes.
"What's your name?" I calmly asked the girl.
Her chin quivered as she whispered, "M-Maya." She nervously looked from Clarke to me as another tear slid down her cheek.
I glimpsed at Clarke before I looked back to Maya. "We're not going to hurt you, okay, Maya?" I promised her.
Maya had a doubting look in her eye. With the piece of glass to her throat, she wouldn't believe me. Clarke had a wild look in her eyes and I knew she didn't want to stick around for anyone to catch us. We needed to find our people first.
"Maya," I gained the girl's attention again. "Do you know where our friends are?"
"L-Level five..." She softly cried.
I nodded my head at Clarke. "Take us there."
Clarke adjusted her hold on Maya and forced her down the hallway. "Alright, let's go."
The three of us rushed through the long hallway until we turned down a corner, leaving the white hall for a darker walkway. My eyes wandered all around the hallway, searching for any signs of Jasper or Bellamy. I needed to see them again. I had to know they were both okay and then check for the rest of my people.
"Clarke, you're bleeding." Maya spoke up when she saw the wound on her arm. Her eyes floated to my own arm with a matching cut in it. "You're both bleeding."
"How do you know my name?" Clarke demanded.
"It was on your chart."
"How do they know my name?" Clarke glanced at me for a quick second, moving the jagged piece of glass closer to Maya.
"I don't know!" Maya nearly shouted. "Please don't hurt me."
How did these people even know who we were? We knew nothing about them. We rushed down a couple of steps and continued on through the dimly lit walkway.
"You want to live? Do exactly what we say." Clarke threatened.
"Just take us to our friends," I told Maya, reaching out to grab a doorknob, only to find out it was locked. "And we won't hurt you."
I had no intentions of hurting the girl. She seemed to had been at the wrong place at the wrong time. Maya didn't fight back when I saw them, instead, she complied to everything Clarke said. From what I could tell, Maya wasn't a threat to us. She was more scared of us then anything.
Clarke slammed Maya against the wall when she started to reach for something underneath the light blue jumpsuit she was wearing. "I don't think so." She pressed the tip of the glass against Maya's throat, not hard enough to slice the skin open, but enough to make her scared.
Maya pulled out a small, thin card out of her jumpsuit, holding it up for the both of us to see. "Key card," she breathed. "I just need my key card."
I grabbed the card out of her hand and waved it by the small panel beside her. A red light turned on and then flashed green, which triggered for two elevator doors to slide open on the wall. Clarke and I nodded at each other. I grabbed Maya's bicep and urged her inside of the elevator. Clarke stepped up beside me and roughly forced Maya against the metal wall of the elevator.
She had this wild look in her eye. It was nearly the same look she had when she allowed Bellamy to torture Lincoln for information back on the dropship. The look that she would do anything to protect the ones she cared about. The only problem with that was Clarke tended to act first and then think later about her decisions, which can lead us down the wrong pathway.
Clarke was a good leader, but she doesn't think everything through and that was going to get us killed one day.
"You said level five, right?" I tried to focused Maya's attention on me instead of on the glass pressed against her throat.
She glanced down at the numbered panel on the wall of the elevator, slightly nodding her head. I pushed down on the "5" button, waiting for the doors of the elevator to shut. My eyes fell back on Clarke and Maya. I didn't blame Clarke for what she was doing. She wanted to find everyone as much as I did. I just wasn't sure what we would do when their people caught up to us and saw we held Maya hostage.
Adrenaline was coursing through my body on a continuous loop. It was blocking the worry and fear of my brother not being okay, and I was concerned for Bellamy. The Grounder gave him a serious beating. The Mountain people found us in the dropship and I was hoping they got a hold of Bellamy, Octavia, and Finn, too.
I caught my reflection in a dirty mirror on the wall as the elevator rose up. My hair was rather ratted and tangled. Blood was oozing down my arm, coating parts of the white outfit I was wearing. I was a bloody mess, both figuratively and literally.
"Who are you people?" Clarke demanded for an answer, however, she didn't give Maya enough time to answer before she threw out another question. "Answer me."
"How many of us are here?" I tore my attention away from the mirror.
Maya side glanced at me as she started to cry again.
"Is my brother here? Is he okay?" I searched her eyes, hoping to find a positive answer.
Instead, Maya sobbed, unable to answer. She was too terrified of us to give us the answers we needed. What if Jasper was hurt? Or Bellamy?
"Where are they?" Clarke asked her, desperate to be given some insight about our people. "Say something!"
Maya cried harder.
"Arrived. Level five." A woman's recorded voice announced in the elevator from a speaker.
Clarke grabbed onto Maya again, forcing her in front of her body with the glass close to her throat. The doors of the elevator slid open and we urged Maya forward first. We walked into another hallway, except we heard chatter coming from a opening in the wall, leading somewhere else. Clarke and I hastily rushed toward the opening, abruptly stopping when we saw what was inside.
Several tables were lined up in the room. Flags of different countries hung from the ceilings over the tables. People, dressed in clean and proper clothing, were sitting at the tables with plates in front of them, while they passed around large plates of food. Everyone was talking amongst each other, completely unaware of the three of us standing by the entryway into the room. Everywhere I looked, I couldn't spot any of our people throughout the mass in the room.
One lady stood up at her table and pointed at us, loudly stating, "Containment breach. Containment breach!"
Her shouts were enough to get the room to quiet down and turn their attention onto us. Clarke and I stood frozen in shock. Suddenly, Maya darted out of Clarke's arms when the hold on her loosened. A loud alarm sounded through the room and hallway. Several people began to scream in fright and race away from the two of us.
I wasn't sure what I was really expecting to find here, but I didn't think we would find over fifty people dining in a room together.
"Where the hell are we?" Clarke whispered.
I turned my head in her directions, eyes growing wide as I saw a group of men hurrying toward us with guns in hand. "Clarke." I bobbed my head in the air at the men. "Don't fight back," I whispered to her. "We need them to think we're not that big of a threat." I held up my hands as the guards surrounded the two of us.

Guess who's back. Well, I mean, I'm back, but so is Wren.
This is the real first chapter. The one before this was a late April Fool's prank to make you think that was the whole story. Now, I don't want to start this right away because I do have a bunch of other stories to finish first. Don't be surprised if I throw in some random updates here and there. I do love Wren a whole bunch.
The hiatus is over, thankfully. My laptop is dead, but, now, I have a 7 inch tablet to write on with a small keyboard. It's a little harder to type on and I can't watch the shows while I write exactly unless I can watch them on my phone. Just please be patient with me about updating my stories. I won't be as fast as I used to be, where I was able to update once or twice a day. I will still be updating, though.
I'm really excited to write about Wren reuniting with the rest of her people that are in Mount Weather. There will be a cute reunion between Wren and Jasper, of course.
Question: What did you think about this chapter?
So, yeah!
