Classes
Wilbur put his stuff away and went to bed the next day started training. He dreamed of his parents and about what happened today. He woke up with a start and looked around not seeing Ajax or Keres. Wilbur rubbed his eyes which were fully black except for a single white dot that all the male ghouls had the females were the opposite white with a black dot. He looked at the time and quickly jumped out of bed, putting on a new shirt and pants then grabbing his bag he ran out of the room, he was late. Once he got to the training area, that was really more like an empty cave, he put his stuff outside the door like everyone else seemed to of done and went inside. Sneaking around the back he managed to slip inside just in time.
Wilbur sat down next to Keres who was holding back laughter and the same girl from before. "What are you laughing about?" Wilbur whispered to Keres. "Look." Keres snickered out pointing to another girl with wild red hair and pale yellowish skin who was walking behind the teacher pretending to be him. Wilbur huffed trying not to crack a smile or a snicker Keres' noises didn't help. The teacher turned around and the girl quickly ran back to her seat acting as if nothing happened. Keres couldn't help himself and started laughing loudly making the teacher turn and glare at him, Keres quickly went quiet with a sheepish grin and an awkward wave. "As I was saying before being so rudely interrupted Mr. Stribal, I am Mr. Montay and I will be your teacher for the next year and a half." The teacher said his voice sounded harsh even when just talking normal. "Training is simple... usually, and the written part won't take long that being said- go get your things and come back." Mr. Montay said pacing back and forth as he spoke. Wilbur got up confused as to why they left it outside just to get it again and followed the others out the door. Wilbur ended up running into someone face first and rubbed his nose looking around he heard worried muttering from the other students. He managed to crawl under a few boys and get to the front seeing all their bags had a large scratch mark on them and were open. Confused, Wilbur got his bag and squeezed back inside the classroom "is this supposed to happen?" he asked holding up his bag with some trouble. Mr. Montay looked over the bag and nodded "it's just to make sure you didn't take anything to cheat or be a danger to others," he chuckled dryly.
The other kids got into the classroom and Mr. Montay simply repeated himself to the whole class. Wilbur noticed that the boy sitting next to him on the other side didn't have a scratch on his bag he narrowed his eyes and sighed focusing on class instead. The girl from before seemed to love answering questions since her hand was up for every one Wilbur later learned her name was Simone Staway. Mr. Montay took this day to just get to know his class the boy next to him with the unscratched bag was named Kerns. "Surrounded by K's" Keres snickered to Wilbur who sighed shaking his head. Wilbur instantly started putting people in groups Simone fit into the Prankster group pretty well but also in with the smart kids while Keres was instantly put into troublemaker and Kerns was put in the loner group in his mind, Wilbur put himself with the smart kids. Right before class ended Mr. Montay informed them that tomorrow would be more on the history of raisers and on the underworld itself. Everyone had packed up by now and was ready to leave. Once the bell rang, a bell that sounded very old and broken, Keres and Wilbur both stood up walking together they passed Ajax on the way. Ajax was in a different class because he was a demon they usually kept demons, ghouls, ghosts, and other species separate since they all had different stories for why they're raisers. Keres called over Ajax and they all walked back to the dorm together chatting away about their classes and the events from early in the day. "Apparently we are supposed to have four in our dorm, but one person was unable to be raised." Ajax said once the topic changed. "I've heard about that, when someone was planning to kill themselves or they were gonna die soon anyway." Keres nodded. "I thought that was a myth! I've heard even the masters can't raise them." Wilbur whispered getting a few solemn nods. "What are you talking about?" someone asked from behind them all three boys jumped and quickly turned around "when did you get here?" Ajax asked seeming the most started. "About a minute ago" another boy shrugged he was a demon like Ajax probably in his class. "That's Ben his mother is a master" Ajax whispered to the others. Both Keres and Wilbur stiffened Keres nervously waved "I'm Keres and this is Wilbur." he gulped Wilbur also waved. "Hello and that's not what I asked." Ben snapped "what are you talking about?" "We were talking about people who can't be raised." Keres said. "Oh, well you're both wrong ones who cannot be raised either have no desire to live or are a crossbreed." Ben said snottily. "A crossbreed? You mean like a liger?" Keres asked "no not like that" Ben snapped "as in a demon and a ghoul had a baby or a ghost and a dickens so on so forth" he sighed and walked off muttering something about imbeciles. "nice guy." Wilbur muttered sighing and walked the rest of the way to their dorm in silence.
Once at their dorm Wilbur plopped down on his bed with another sigh Keres did the same rubbing his head "I know class is important and all but do we really need to relearn the history of raisers? I've heard the story since I was a kid" Keres moaned face-planting his pillow. "Maybe they tell the story different." Ajax shrugged "different how?" Wilbur asked pausing "do you think they kept a secret from the public?!" Wilbur shouted suddenly excited. Keres and Ajax both jumped at his sudden enthusiasm "nah I doubt that." Ajax said brushing his hair back down. "Yeah you're probably right." Wilbur sighed sitting back down. Keres laughed shaking his head "that would be kind of cool though," He said "like a mystery." Wilbur nodded and looked at the scratch mark on his bag "hey Keres did you see that boy without the scratch on his bag? Why do you think he didn't have one?" he asked. "I'm not sure maybe they just didn't see his" Keres shrugged "what are you two talking about?" Ajax asked interrupting them. Wilbur chuckled slightly "kid in our class" he shrugged "Ghouls" Ajax muttered going to the bathroom to get ready for bed.
Wilbur had a troubled sleep unable to get the events of the day out of his head.
