Name: Tjaard (pronounced "Tyah-ard")

Familiar: Owl-Griffin; named Von'tia

Familiar Description: large short-eared owl-griffin. She has the white and mottled brown and black patterns of a short-eared owl, as well as its head and wings, with the hindquarters and limbs of a cougar. Large bright yellow-brown eyes are ever watchful and seemingly ever-knowing. 

Powers: control of wind and telekinesis

Weapons: a tall dark wooden staff with many strange engravings and symbols on it. His only other weapons are a small dagger and his familiar, though he'd hate to put his familiar in harm's way.

Description: Tjaard has dull, silvery skin and short dark metal-grey hair. He has a lean build that obviously wasn't meant to be athletically inclined and a distinctly narrowed face. Sunflower yellow eyes are framed by simple wired glasses, as he has eyesight problems. Tjaard bears few scars, and most of them from accidents caused by himself, and is dusted all over with dark grey freckles. A notable scar of his is a small burn mark on his lower left side.
Tjaard is by no means a fancy dresser and usually sports simple clothes, save for his cloak. He normally wears dark blue leggings tucked into tall dark brown boots and a long flowing light grey tunic. The tunic's sleeves are fitted and end in a slight point over the back of his hands and is kept tight around his middle by a dark blue sash tied around his torso, with the ends falling down to the right. During daylight hours he will don a floor length dark brown cloak bearing long wide sleeves and a baggy hood. His cloak has a gold-colored trim along the bottom and end of the sleeves as well as running up the middle where it ties together and along the edge of the hood as well. Tied onto his sash are two pouches, one is the sheath to a small dagger the other holds an ancient looking key made of iron.  

Personality: Inquisitive, friendly, and shy Tjaard isn't exactly what one might picture when they think of a Dark Elf. Though he can be cunning and is always observant of his surroundings. With a passion for knowledge Tjaard is forever yearning to learn more about anything and everything he can and has in fact made such his life's work (his entire house is one giant makeshift library of sorts). With a knack for puzzle solving he just can't stand to not be able to figure something out and will try to the best of his ability to do so if put in such a situation. A trait he has that might have been adapted from spending so much time with Roan is his slightly stubborn and at times defensive attitude, though it rarely presents itself. He is quite fond of and loves to dote on his familiar, and likewise she does so to him as well which slightly embarrasses him. Tjaard isn't keen on big crowds or events and prefers to stay in his cozy home deep in the swamps of Alfheim with Von'tia to keep him company.

Other: Tjaard is a tinkerer or inventor of sorts, always trying to come up with new ways to do things and new "toys" to accomplish goals. He is also a historian, reading and writing of events, both those of importance and those considered less so. He has quite a sharp mind to match Roan's, his blood-brother, sharper tongue.
