The rarest, is the gift of sight.

And Alex has it.

Now, nearing his fifteenth birthday, Jason must help Alex spread the secrets of the Council and find out what his gift is.

Even if it means he dies before he can use it.

Prologue~ Alex

The Council stared at me, wondering what to do. I had their secrets, and they had me.

"Alex, we will give you one more chance. Forget the secrets, and continue living happily."

"Happily? I hardly see how this is happy!!" One of the Council members glared at me.

"Silence!! You have no right to speak!!" I glared right back.

"Alex for refusing to agree with the Council, you must be punished." I raised an eyebrow. My eyes flickered to the members. Two were sweating, three were smirking.

The Council leader stood up and walked over.

"We can't allow you to walk out with our secrets." What was to come of me? Death? Poison? Being locked away forever, never to see the light of day?

"But we can't if you cannot speak." I covered my throat, gasping.

"You wouldn't!!" She smirked cruelly as I quickly got out of my seat.

"Get her!!" I ran, my eyes flickered everywhere. Three guards behind me, two making their way.

I hid in a closet, waiting till their footsteps left. One Mississippi, Two Mississippi, Three Mississippi.....

"Find her!!" Four Mississippi, Five Mississippi......

I opened the door carefully, looking both ways. No one was coming.

I slipped out, running down the stairs. If I could just get-

"I'm surprised at you Alex. You would think you would know better." I paled and looked up. Council leader.

"You would think, a girl with a rare gift would know how to use it." I growled, stepping down the stairs. Just don't trip...I told my self.

"I know how to use it." I snapped. She laughed.

"I'm sure you will learn. Such a pity through when you can't tell anyone you can." I frowned.

"What do you-?!" Someone came up behind me and covered my mouth. I struggled, but it wasn't enough.

The Council leader pulled off her hood, walking towards me.

"Good luck spilling our secrets Alex." I blacked out.

And when I awoke, I couldn't speak.
