Wounded Pride *Rant*
So I know some of my stories have an okay, or good plot, but just have bad writing. Like my Quest stories. (The Amulet Quest, The Sisters Quest, Lily's Quest {Although it would be the writing that's bad in Lily's and not the plot since I kinda just sent Lily to Aphmua's Minecraft Diaries world..}, and Tiger's Quest.) Lily's Quest and Tiger's Quest have the best writing out of any of the books in those series to be honest. (I need to rewrite them all at some point...But I'm not even done with that series and I'm writing other books..Meh.)
Moving on from the not exactly needed thing. Now I consider myself to be a pretty good or at least decent writer, (I've improved trust me) and it's one of my main talents that I can be proud of. So today at school we had to take a math assessment to determine weither we would need tutoring. Afterwards we had a fictional short story competition.
And I was like *SCORE*
Because I was sure as heck that I could write something that could give everyone a challenge to write something better than it. I used all of my time (We had 45 minutes) and I finally finished at the 3 minute mark. I read over it and it was pretty good.
Mine came in second place with four votes, one of them my own.
Legit the winner with 12 was about a turtle, who was born, got some Gucci flip flops so that it could cross the hot sand to the water, played volleyball and I quote 'totally beat the humans', realized that his siblings had left him behind, called Usain Bolt to I'm assuming help him catch up, rode in a hot air ballon with a pufferfish, it popped and so they fell. He thought he was going to die, but Bolt caught him and took him to the water. And then realized that he was the first turtle to have Gucci flip flops. So he made it his mission to help turtles get to the ocean safely, and never let a turtle go without Gucci flip flops again.
It wasn't very detailed, but kinda funny? But still, it wasn't really realistic either. Just childish. Authored by people in Highschool.
Now mine was detailed, and had meaningful plot.
It was about a girl named Samantha Irileth Jackson coming to realize that she was selfish. She was lost in a forest, and was remembering the comforts of her old life. It was cold, and she didn't have clothes to really help with that. She was about to give up when she met Marik, a snow leopard. He saved her, cared for her, and provided for her, and taught her things. And she gave nothing in return. Having taken him for granted. Just like she had with her friends and family and with her old comforts. One day however Marik returned injured, and she realized how much she depended on him. And how little she did to help him. And so she became determined to change, and cared for him as he had cared for her. And as he recovered she still gave back what she took. I ended in rather meaningfully way and stuff.
In short mine was more descriptive and a better story overall than some turtle making it across the beach. Even if that turtle participated in volleyball, flew in a hot air ballon, and basicly did things that would be completely impossible in reality. It was ment to be comedy I'm assuming.
It was for fun I'm assuming but stillllll. They won with 12 votes. I shouldn't take it personally and all since you win some and lose some but seriously? If it had been good writing aka descriptive with meaningful plot or good comedy I wouldn't have been annoyed. But it wasn't.
Bisocacor owy. UPS Javier ycwtis ahp hsl sgis has his hos.
Me flailing ^
Anyhow I'll stop ranting now. I swearrr why are high schoolers so immatureeee.
Mine probably would have won if the teachers decided, which gives me some comfort.
But still WOUNDED FRICKEN PRIDE.
Meh I'm a bit salty, but I'm over it now.
