(Pic is Ravenfire/as close as I could get to Ravenfire)
After eating and washing up, Raven stretched and prepared to leave with Ravenfire, when Nightglare and Pythonpaw approached them.
"Mind if we join you?" Nightglare asked, gesturing to the camp entrance.
"Not at all," Ravenfire said, gesturing for her to walk beside him.
Pythonpaw gave Raven a sheepish smile and followed, Raven just a few steps behind.
"I'm not the only one seeing this, right?" Ravenpaw said, taking over.
"Seeing what?" Pythonpaw asked. But his eyes widened in realization a few moments later. "Oh, you mean Ravenfire and Nightglare? No, I see it too. But I'm not sure if they see it."
"Yeah. It's almost kinda sad." Almost like your typical high school romance where I come from, Raven muttered in the back of her head.
What in StarClan is a high school romance? Ravenpaw asked. Raven was surprised, this was the first time her other self had ever spoken to her.
It's something from where I come from, Raven said.
You mean before you swooped in and took over half my mind? Ravenpaw stated plainly.
Hey, I cast a spell, it went wrong, here I am. I don't want to be any more than you want me here, Raven snapped back.
Ok, then just stay back, let me live my life, Ravenpaw said.
Raven settled herself in a corner. It was weird being able to do nothing, but feel your limbs moving without your consent.
Back outside, Ravenpaw and Pythonpaw continued to chat. Ravenpaw hadn't minded having to share at first, but now it was different.
The four reached Hare Hill and Ravenfire took a deep breath, and motioned with his tail to stay quiet. The others shared nods and fanned out, sniffing around the gorse and heather.
"Rabbit!" Nightglare screeched, making everyone turn. The rabbit was heading straight towards Ravenpaw.
Her instincts kicked in and she crouched low, waiting for the rabbit to come to her.
When it was close enough, she pounced, managing to grab hold of its shoulders as it started to thrash. The rabbit was bigger than the first one Raven had caught, and it was also much feistier.
She dug her claws in and bit down on its spine. The rabbit went ridged, then slumped, falling limp.
"Whoo! Good catch!" Pythonpaw said, admiring the rabbit. "That thing is bigger than me!"
He was right. The rabbit was absolutely massive, maybe even bigger than Slateclaw. Wait.
"Is that... a collar?!" Ravenpaw gasped.
There, around the rabbits neck, was a blue collar. Raven noticed it read Percy, but didn't say anything to Ravenpaw.
"We just killed a twoleg pet!" Nightglare groaned. On the distance, there were twoleg's shouting, probably looking for the rabbit.
Ravenpaw locked her jaws around the collar, and began to chew, the collar coming off in a few seconds.
"There, the collar is gone."
"Nightglare, can you take the collar to the far end of the territory? The apprentices and I with take the rabbit back to camp," Ravenfire said.
The black she-cat nodded and picked the collar up, before running in the opposite direction.
Ravenfire hoisted the rabbit onto his back, each apprentice taking a little of the weight. "When we get to camp, let's not tell them it belonged to a twoleg, ok?"
Both apprentices nodded and they continued on.
"My StarClan!" Silentfeather exclaimed from beside Violetleaf, catching the attention of several other warriors.
More warriors began to gather around, and Blizzardstar padded from in between them.
"Who killed it?" the white she-cat asked, looking between the three. Nightglare came into camp right then.
She looked around a second and said, "I lost it."
Ravenpaw knew that was an excuse for why she was late. "Better luck next time."
"Ravenpaw," Pythonpaw answered Blizzardstar, adding: "She's really on a roll."
"She is indeed," Blizzardstar said, looking at Ravenpaw. The latter raised her chin in pride, but said modestly, "Ravenfire taught me how. The first time was just luck."
Blizzardstar nodded and leapt onto the Boulder.
All of the cats were in the clearing already, so they just gathered below.
"The cats who will be going to the gathering tomorrow are Ravenfire, Ravenpaw, Nightglare, Pythonpaw, Sylentfeather, Violetleaf, Blackfrost, Robinpaw, Wolfpaw, Squirrelpaw, Wildpaw, Hazelbreeze, and Tawnyheart."
Honeycliff stood forward. "I actually have an announcement," she said, looking at Rippletooth. "I'm expecting kits."
The clan cheered and Rippletooth looked proud; he was grinning broadly.
"Excellent news," Blizzardstar said, a small smile crossing her muzzle. "When are you due?"
"Three moons," the calico she-cat replied.
"I think that's the first time I've seen Blizzardstar smile," Ravenpaw whispered to Ravenfire.
"Honeycliff is Blizzardstar's only kit. Her mate and other two kits died," Ravenfire replied.
"How?"
"Well, Sparkflight died of greencough, Quailkit was stillborn, and Vixenpaw died from wounds."
"That's so sad," Ravenpaw said, her ears dropping.
"Yeah, the only family she has left are Spiketail and Honeycliff, so news of grandchildren will get her ecstatic."
Ravenpaw looked back over to Blizzardstar, who's smile had widened as she spoke to her daughter. "If you call that ecstatic."
"She's very reserved," Rivenfre chuckled.
