Chapter 7
"And you're sure it was our group's scent?" Dust's voice was calm as well as his hazel eyes.
"I wasn't on the patrol to know, but from the description it could only be yours," Ravenstrike reported.
"Then, we may just have to move our attack to a sooner time." Dust pierced Ravenstrike with a hard stare. "You'll inform me of any changes in guard, right?"
"Of course."

Ravenstrike padded back into camp. He didn't have any prey and expected a scolding from Dewfang, but as he entered the Clan was silent. Worry and confusion kit in his yellow eyes. The black tom padded into the camp further, unnerved by the lack of any pelts in the camp. Where was everyone?
He changed course to poke his head into the apprentices' den. He was aware of there being two apprentices; Snowpaw and Nightpaw. Neither of them were in the den. Worry worked in Ravenstrike's pelt as he exited and went back to the elders' den. The scent of the elder Gorgerunner was stale. The black tom's claws unsheathed in worry. He ran to the medicine den next.
Dewwren wasn't in his den either. Ravenstrike turned in his paws and pounded to the warriors' den, his yellow eyes sparkling with anxiousness. One pelt stood alone in the gloom of the den. A white-and-ginger pelt.
"Crystalflight!" He breathed out, relieved someone was here.
"Ravenstrike!" The she-cat jumped up. "Where were you?"
"Out," Ravenstrike responded simply, "where is everyone?"
"They all went to investigate the scent. I think they were preparing for a possible fight. I refused to go in case you came back and wanted to know what was going on." Amusement Kit in the she-cat's soft amber eyes. "I can see I was right."
Ravenstrike smiles to Crystalflight, hiding the worry for Dust in his belly.
'The day is so close! They can't be discovered now!'
