Chapter : 06

Alpha Luciano

Present

An average wolf, regardless of his strength, couldn't stand the heat. The heat was a moment of time where the wolf found his mate but didn't claim or mark her. It was horrible and torturous! The sexual frustration and desires only made the matter worse. I lived through that pain for over a year until I didn't come to Whitebridge to claim my mate. She was underage then, and this time, she wasn't.

The moment I stepped off the car, I recognized her. Her scent was lingering all over the place, and she was standing in the corner, waiting for this all to be over.

But it just started from there.

Red. That was her name. She was beautiful, her eyes had innocence and fear in them, her body was pillowed for pleasure, and she was built to drive men wild. Her beauty was intoxicating; everything about her was simply perfect — perfect for me to feast on.

I always believed my mate needed to be broken in order to obey me. I always thought that I would have to bend my mate and force her. After all, women can be surprising. And as the Alpha, I had to make sure that my mate was under me at all times.

All my assumptions were incorrect as soon as I saw Red. She didn't need to be broken or bend. As soon as my gaze locked in hers, I couldn't think about anything except for loving her and pounding her until she begs me to stop.

That was all I thought at that instance moment. However, her body rejected my touch, and that's when I was disappointed.

"Please, come sit down." The old woman said as she directed me inside her house.

I waved at the driver and told him to hold it for a couple of minutes. Ripping apart Red from her family wasn't a good idea. I would've done it if it was someone else — not Red. I couldn't be cruel to her. She was way too fragile to be harmed.

I sat down on the couch; my hands rested on my thighs as I looked around the house. The small house was filled with her scent — her devouring scent. I couldn't hold it off anymore. If the old woman wasn't around, I would've probably fucked Red senselessly in her own bedroom.

"Thank you for coming by. I was really concerned about Red." The old woman said as she sat beside me.

"I want to take her, not forcibly but willingly," I stated.

"She's too young..." the old woman trailed off.

"She's an adult now and has become of her age. As an Alpha, I can't survive without my mate. I have already spent an entire year waiting for this day to come," I explained.

"You knew that Red was your mate?"

"Yes, she was inside the cathedral last year, and that's when I saw her," I replied.

"Oh..." she sighed.

"I want to claim her. She has to come with me. I have already shown her enough mercy by bringing her here." I said.

"Yes, and I'm thankful for that, but she's not ready."

"What do you mean?"

"As I said, Alpha, she's too young. She may have the body of a woman, but she has the mind of a child. She hasn't seen the world; she hasn't seen anything." The old woman explained.

I leaned forward and rubbed my beard. I expected that as soon as I saw her.

"Don't worry. She'll see everything once I claim her."

She was going to see a lot more than the world.

"Please try to understand—"

I cut the woman off as another strange smell reached up to my nostrils. This one didn't belong to my mate.

"I'm sorry, but you'll have to understand. I smell a wolf in here, a lone wolf, so unless you want me to take action, I suggest that you convince Red and send her with me." I threatened.

The old woman gasped out of fear. She narrowed down her eyes in shame and got up from the couch.

"I will get her out,"

A lone wolf couldn't survive, and I was surprised that this old woman was still alive. Any wolf with common sense would rip her apart.

Red

Nana walked inside my room, slightly petrified. The color drained from her face as she sat beside me. I wiped away my tears and smiled at her.

"Is he gone?" I asked.

The silence lingered around the room for a moment. "You'll have to go with him," she said in defeat.

"No!" I exclaimed as the worry returned back. My heartbeat quickened as I heard her response. "Nana, you promised." I cried.

"I promise that he won't harm you. Alpha is a nice man. He bought you here instead of taking you away completely. No one does that, Red." Nana explained as she held me in her embrace.

"Please, I am afraid of him. I don't want to go. I want to be with you, Nana. Who'll take care of you when I'm gone?" I asked.

The devil himself stepped inside the room and said, "I'll have my men take care of her when she's gone, don't worry."

I straightened myself and looked at the creature who called himself the Alpha.

"Why would I trust you?" I asked.

"Because I'm your mate. That's the sole reason why you'll ever trust me," he replied back sharply.

"Red," Nana called out my name. She cupped my face with her wrinkled hands and wiped away my tears. "Have faith in me. No one will harm you,"

"But Nana I can't leave you,"

"You can visit her after a short period of time," the creature blurted out.

"See, even the Alpha has allowed you to see me once in a while. Don't worry about me. I'll be perfectly fine. Now, freshen up and come outside. I'll pack a couple of things for you,"

After struggling for so long, I finally gave in and accepted my fate. I couldn't deny it anymore. I was mated to someone — a creature.

I nodded my head and went inside the washroom to clean myself. My eyes were bloodshot red, my cheeks were flushed, and my lips were torn. The cold weather didn't do us good. After washing my face with warm water, I dried it off and went outside to Nana.

Nana was standing by the door; she handed a bag to the creature. I didn't know what was in that bag, but I hoped Nana packed all my valuable things. Diverting my eyes away from the creature, I turned to Nana and wrapped my arms around her.

"Shush, it's going to be okay." She whispered, sounding assured. I cried in her chest for the last time. Leaving her embrace was more difficult than I thought. I couldn't tear myself away from her, but I had too.

Nana kissed my forehead and then my cheeks. "Take of yourself and call me whenever you can,"

I nodded my head, wondering if I could call her later on. I had no idea where I was going to, but then again – I had no  idea of anything. My future was a blur. I embraced her one last time before wiping away my tears and leaving with the creature.

The satisfaction on his lips disgusted me to the core. How could a man rip someone apart from their family? Did they not have an ounce of humanity? The creatures resembled humans; they were humans for the most part until the force turned them in savage beasts.

I sat inside the vehicle and then drove off. There was a long, brittle silence. I fought against my fear and lost; at least I went down with a fight. I thought Nana could help me in this, but she couldn't.

The silence broke when the creature spoke, "It's a long ride to the castle; you should sleep."

Enslaved by fear, all I could do was submit. My head pressed against the cold window of the car, I closed my eyes and dozed off, hoping that I would never wake up again, hoping that this all could finally end.

Or hoping this all was a nightmare.
