Chapter 12

Luciano

"Oh, fuck, what were those wolves!" I woke up with Ben's sobbing voice down my ears and the deep claw marks over my stomach burning. As I got a glimpse of my surroundings, my eyes widened. "Fuck, no! What the fuck are we doing here?"

Ben waited for my wild reaction, it was what he had been doing since the second I woke up. There were restraints around my wrist, silver, and it burned worse than anything else. Silver was used to put untamed wolves or rogues down. I was surprised it was being used on me. The room we were seemed like a prison cell—bricked walls, long steel rods running up to the celling, no windows, cold floor—it was defiantly a cellar.

"This is what happens when you shift and try to outrun a pack of wolves. I told you not to disturb the ones living here, yet you did the same and now we are trapped, probably for life." Ben whined, shaking his head. He was on the ground, sitting a little far from me and I found a gash on his chest.

It was the outcome of our unfortunate tries to find Anna. When we shifted and looked around the area, a few other wolves, belonging to the pack showed up here. After a long hour to try to fight them off, they were able to inject us with poison and shove us into a deep, dreadful sleep.

The only wolves I had ever fought with were usually during trainings, this kind of problem never occurred for me as I was the Alpha King and wolves would rather surrender than face my wrath.

"Ugh." I groaned, twisting my hands. "How come these people don't know who I am?" This was so much easier back in the States.

The wolves were strong, however, nothing compared to me or Ben. It was a pack of six wolves, warriors and we managed to take most of them down until one of them shifted and injected us with poison, resulting to blur vision, tiredness and sleep.

"They don't. This is England. Didn't your Mother warn you? You got both of us trapped in here. Our scent wouldn't be so evident if we hadn't shifted."

I rolled my eyes. "Well, at least I know that Red and Anna are both here."

"I knew that already." He snapped, trying to control his anger as he had never been in a situation like this before.

"The moment I step out of here, I'm going to end all those wolves those tried to take me down!" I got up on my feet and gave my hands another twist.

The silver chains burned, digging into my flesh and I hissed with the pain and was able to loosen them up. I reciprocated from my plan upon hearing the footsteps of strangers from afar. The heavy-stoned doors were thrown open and an old man walked inside with the scent of an Alpha.

Fuck me.

I slid back down and held my hands together as I was almost these with breaking the chains apart, however, I needed to come up with another strategy since the Alpha was here now.

The man titled his head at the young man beside him—the Beta. "These two don't smell like rogues and certainly not lone-wolves. Why are they here?" The Alpha asked.

Yeah, why was I?

"They were trespassing our territory and when we tried to intertwine, they attacked—"

"Uh, no, we didn't attack up until your wolves did!" I cut him off and said, splitting my silence. Kneeling down at an another wasn't what I planned on doing after leaving my throne.

Ben knocked his leg at me. "Shh, don't speak." He mumbled under his breath.

The Alpha, presumedly named as Dillion growled at both of us, it was the kind of growl the leaders gave to silence any argument and it was originated from me whenever we had pack issues back at the castle or when I was pissed at everyone and just wanted a moment of silence. It was unlikely anyone disobeyed me.

The utter silence ate me up but it was soon broken by Ben himself. I cocked my head at his direction when his tone started switching up. "We ran away from our pack and were looking for shelter somewhere."

"No, I didn't." I murmured and he gave me another long, harsh glance before continuing.

"We didn't mean on attacking your men, it was a mistake." He added with a stretched smile on his face, like he was going to be forgiven, like both of us were going to be forgiven.

"Names?" The Alpha asked.

"I'm Ben and that's Luca."

No.

My heart where my ego was placed hurt with every single word that came out of Ben's mouth and I just couldn't wait to strangle him for calling me Luca.

The Alpha gave us a nod before shrugging. His back faced at my direction as he turned. "Kill them both. We don't need more mess around here." He ordered his Beta who quickly pushed himself forward to end us.

As if that was going to work.

"No!" Ben yelled, stopping the Alpha. "We can't be killed—we—we have strength and power, more than any of your warriors do. We know you're trying to protect yourself from someone, and we can do that." He literally offered himself.

The old, almost dead man sighed and turned around with a frown lapping on his features. "What do you mean by that? You both were trespassing and trespassing my territory means death, unless, you are offering something else." His tone was nasal and gruff just as himself.

My Mother warned me about the Alpha's here, they were all awful in terms of leading packs. If I were to be in his place, both of us would've been dead by now.

"We, we were the King's warriors, until he died and then we moved here to England." Ben blabbered.

However, his words did intrigue the Alpha.

"The King? I've heard about him, a very powerful man indeed." His eyes glowed with admiration for me and at the very least, I expected him to recognize me, but he failed to do so. It wasn't usual for any wolves out of the States to know who I was.

"Yes. We worked for him long ago and then he died, unfortunately, and we ran away from the pack as the entire Kingdom and the council turned atrocious and corrupt after his death." Ben managed on giving out every detail while I was still sitting beside him.

Alive.
