Chapter 35
Red
Once I was out of my traumatic zone, we pushed Marissa's body into a black bag that would be taken care off by Luciano.
"You can't tell anyone that you killed her. I'll tell Anna and Cordelia that I did it." I said, zipping up the bag.
"Why?"
"Because I don't want you hurt."
"Re—"
"Please, Luciano?"
"Fine. Keep the body here till evening and I'll collect it later at night." He dragged the bag into the bathroom and dropped it in there.
I ran behind him and pulled the windows close so the scent of a dead body wouldn't go anywhere. Anna was going to be more mad when she'd learn I killed Marissa. It wasn't like Cordelia was going to let her live anyway.
And that bitch called me a whore.
"You okay?" Luciano asked, shutting the washroom door close tight.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine."
I took out my phone from my bag and dropped a voicemail to Cordelia that I had killed Marissa as she had caught us—me and Annabeth talking about her. I knew she wouldn't be mad at it since she wanted to kill her herself.
I locked the door off the room and went to lie down with Luciano just minutes after killing someone. I threw my arm over his body and pressed my cheek against his chest.
"Guess I can't take a shower till tomorrow." I joked, brightening up the mood and taking in everything as killing someone was casual for me.
Luciano chuckled, shaking his head, "She shouldn't have hurt you. Her mistake." He shrugged.
"I guess so."
It was going to be a matter of minutes before Cordelia would call me and maybe appreciate me or be angry, whatever it was, I was waiting for it. A couple more minutes passed by and I checked my phone repeatedly but nothing came up.
"Red?" Luciano said, twisting a strand of my hair around his thick fingers.
"Yeah?"
"Do you know about your Father?"
"What about him?" I continued to rest, not giving it much of a thought as he was long dead—or not.
"You told me he died with your Mother?"
"Yeah, it was after I was born. Gretel told me once that my Mother killed herself and my Father because she couldn't take the pain of being a chosen one." I explained before turning around and pressing my chin against his chest. "But, I don't believe her."
"What if he didn't die?"
Up until that moment, I didn't remember the moment in that place where I met my Mother and Nana. It was heaven or so they claimed it to be. My Mother's words echoed in my mind and I sat up straight, shocked.
I shot a glance over at Luciano and surprised filled me up. "My Mother told me to look for him."
"For who?"
"My Father. He didn't die."
"When did you meet your Mother?" Frown lines appeared on his face and forehead as he grew confused. I hadn't spoken about anything that happened on that day—the day I died.
"When I died, I met her, I don't know if it was a vision or not but I did. She told me about Anna and I met my Nana too." Just thinking about that moment made me smile. "It was beautiful."
He pressed a palm over my hand and asked, "You met your Nana? How was it?"
"Amazing. She was so happy—" I took a sharp breath in and shook away that memory as I felt guilty leaving her there alone when I could've joined her. I chose my family over Nana and my Mother, I chose to live again even when fate wanted me dead.
Luciano pulled me back to his embrace, "And she would still be. May she rest in peace."
"Amen."

Luciano left with Marissa's body later at night. I cleaned up the washroom and took care of the dead scent that wasn't yet strong. After doing a couple more chores, I waited for Anna to come but she didn't. The whole night passed by and she never returned.
Was she that pissed at me? Did she really leave England?
I slept late and when I woke up, I found Anna, dead asleep, hidden inside her blanket. After freshening up, I went downstairs and patched up breakfast for my sister as an apology, even though it wasn't enough.
While at the kitchen, I noticed that Brenda was gone and there was another servant at her place, making breakfast for Dillion, who I hadn't seen in past few hours.
"Where is Brenda?" I asked the servant.
"She took a break for a while." The servant replied and I nodded.
Break.
Pfft.
Marissa was dead, which meant Brenda couldn't get anymore orders from her so there was no use of her staying over her while knowing she could be caught by Dillion anytime soon.
I dragged the tray of breakfast off the counter and walked outside to go back to my room and give food Anna. While on the way, I stumbled upon Dillion and he had an affectionate, pleasant smile over his face.
"Good morning, Red."
"Good morning."
"How is your friend, Ann?"
The A, please.
"She's okay!" I exclaimed while noticing Dillion's unusually cheerful behavior. He was awake early in the morning and there was a different shine to his face. "Everything good, Mr. Dillion?"
"Oh, more than good! I just have this rush inside me today as if the gloom is finally gone. Did you do something?" He asked, speaking about the problems he had in the house.
"Oh, yeah!" I nodded. "I killed all the spells planted here."
"You did?" His pupils expanded.
"Yeah, it was easy." I giggled at the thought of Marissa. Clearly, we all knew the root of the problem now. It wasn't Cordelia, it was Marissa putting spells over Dillion and his entire pack. Once she died, so did her magic so all those spells broke off and I didn't realize that up until Dillion asked me.
"Oh, thank you, Red! I hope it stays this way." He patted my shoulder and swayed away happily.
It will.
"Mr. Dillion?" I turned around and waited for him to stop. I still needed to convince him that the reason behind all his sadness wasn't Cordelia.
"Yes?"
My hands throbbed with holding the breakfast but I still did. "It wasn't Cordelia who did the spells. It was someone else. Her aura isn't evil, instead, it's welcoming and precious." I spoke facts.
Dillion frowned, his brows furrowing together. He approached me and asked, "How are you so sure?"
"I'm a witch, I know when someone's evil and when someone's not. She isn't. I can also tell that you two had a relation, right?" I pushed my shoulders forward and began convincing him for Cordelia.
It was the last thing I wanted to do.
"We did!" He declared, "But, we can't be together, even if she isn't evil."
"Why? Her aura is so sweet." I stared at his set of eyes that were so familiar to someone's. Luciano told me that he had a wife but it was years ago. Why couldn't he just forget her already?
Dillion narrowed his eyes, the gloom returning to his face suddenly. "I know. I blamed Cordelia for all of this so I could hate her as I can't be with her, not until I've the courage to burn the memories of my wife and that's going to take an eternity so it's better if I continue to hate her."
"Your wife?" I acted dumbfounded even when I knew the truth. "You were married?" I wanted to know more.
"Yes, it was a long time ago." He shot a smile at me. "And I just want my wife."
"I'm sorry. How did she pass?"
"She killed herself."
