Warmth
Janus's POV:
As Emile was out visiting family, I would have been left at the apartment alone while I was sick.
Being sick was not fun for me since I could already barely eat. With nausea and my anorexia, I threw up pretty much everything that was given to me, even if it was liquid. However, there had been something that happened with Emile's family, and he had to leave immediately.
Being as emotionally needy and anxious as I was, I got lonely after a few hours and promptly called Remus to come over.
I always was overly emotional when I was sick, drunk, or sleepy, and right now I was one beer short of all three. So, you know, I was pretty emotional. No problem. I could try to keep it together.
Currently, I was sitting cross-legged on the couch, dressed in an oversized golden sweater and pajama pants, and sharing a bottle of orange juice with Remus, who was right next to me. I was drinking from a regular glass, while Remus had the only actual wine glass in the apartment.
He took a sip of the juice. "I hadn't heard what had happened to Remy, but that's pretty damn awful," he admitted.
I glanced at him. "Roman hadn't told you, darling?"
"Nah, he's staying over at Virge's house right now." Remus flopped back on the couch, pulling a blanket over himself. "I hadn't been told anything. You saved those two, huh?"
Nodding, I took a sip of my orange juice. "Yeah, guess so. Meanwhile, you were babysitting your little sisters, Cora and May, right? Twins?"
He sighed. "Yeah. They're little balls of energy. Each at that age, three. Just old enough to walk and talk but absolutely no control of their impulses."
I laughed. "Well, you don't have very much impulse control either," I pointed out. "You stuffed a chopstick down your throat last week 'cause you wanted to know what it felt like."
Remus crossed his arms. "So?"
"I'm sorry," I apologized, still laughing a bit. "Maybe."
"Hey!"
We chatted a bit longer, sighing and talking. I got up to look at the stars through the window, and waved Remus over. "Look, darling, it's the 'Scorpius' constellation! Isn't it pretty?"
He stood up and walked to the frosted window. It was autumn, and in the last two days, it had become quite cold, complete with a bout of snow and two inches of freezing cold rain.
Remus looked up at the stars and smiled. "They're gorgeous. Wanna go and look on the roof?"
I shook my head. "No, it's cold enough here. We can keep on looking, though," I offered him. "Or we could talk some more if you wanted."
Remus seemed to notice something and pointed excitedly at the stars. "Isn't that the big dipper?" he asked.
I smiled at him, giving him a quick kiss before nodding. "Yeah."
He looked again and tilted his head, a bit confused. "But where's the moon?"
"Oh, it's pretty early at night, so we won't be able to see the moon from this window," I explained. "If we stayed up a few more hours though, we would."
Remus blinked. "Cool. In both ways." He glanced in my direction. "By that, I mean 'interesting' and 'it's freezing cold here by the window can we go back to the couch'."
Laughing, I pulled him over to the couch, where he resumed curling up under the heavy quilt. As I was cold myself, I tugged my sweater further over my hands and retreated into my shell of warm-knit golden thread.
I yawned, feeling more tired than usual that day. Maybe it was the sickness. Whatever it was, I knew my immune system was strong and that it would be gone the next day.
But right now, my legs and arms were aching and a headache was eating its way through my skull.
As if he could tell, Remus grabbed my hand and pulled me onto him, quickly lifting the blanket so I could get under it. "Aw, you're tired and cold too," he teased, leaning in to briefly kiss my forehead.
"Don't rub it in, asshole," I murmured. As I nuzzled into his shirt, I yawned again and blinked sleepily. "I know I'm tired, but don't--"
He rolled his eyes and stood up, scooping me into his arms as he did. I yelped and instinctively put my arms around his neck. I hated being off-balance, and even though it wasn't that far down to the floor, I was still pretty terrified.
"W-what are you doing?" I squeaked, sure that he would drop me on the wooden floor.
Remus continued to walk before reaching my bedroom and nudging the door in. "I'm bringing you to your bed. You shouldn't sleep on the couch, it'll ruin your neck and back, you know."
I yelped again as I was thrown(somewhat gently) onto my bed. "I said I was tired, not ready to sleep!"
"And yet you're going under your nest of blankets."
"I get really cold!" I turned away, making myself face the wall, and crossed my arms.
He sighed and slipped under the covers, slowly wrapping his arms around me. I rolled my eyes, but let myself cozy up to the warmth. I hated being cold, and could never stand the colder patches of winter, so the warmth was actually pretty nice.
I turned around and gave Remus a small kiss before curling into his chest and yawning again. I was really sleepy, and it was cold out there and warm in here, and the warmth was helping my headache.
Remus smiled down at me and tugged me a little bit closer. "You're really cute when you're sick, Jan."
I hissed. "No. No cute."
He kissed my forehead. "Yes, cute. Cute as a jumping spider."
I lifted my head to look incredulously at him. "The fuck, Remus? Where do you come up with those?"
"Those what?"
"Those weird nicknames." I sighed and stretched slightly, then nestled back into his shirt. "It's so... spontaneous and strange."
Brushing his hands through my hair, Remus smiled. "I dunno, they just... come."
I coughed. "Alright though, but don't make it into a pet name. It's overly long and altogether very strange," I told him, yawning again.
Remus gave me a kiss and gently intertwined our fingers. "You sound really tired, and your voice is scratchy," he said, his eyes slightly worried. "You need to get some sleep."
"...will you stay here?" I asked, a bit nervous. I didn't know if I would have some terrible fever dream and wave up crying. Usually, when I had nightmares, Emile would come and comfort me. I needed it, especially if they were about... that.
Remus's eyes softened. "Of course, hydra. Don't worry." He squeezed me in a gentle hug. "I'll be here if you need me."
I sighed, but still smiled at the kindness. "Thanks," I whispered. "And you need sleep too."
He grinned and nodded. "Yeah."
I closed my eyes and fell asleep, still feeling the gentle warmth lulling me to sleep.

BONUS:
3rd Person POV:
Roman crept into the apartment, using his phone flashlight to look around for his brother. He had tried to call Remus earlier, saying that he would pick him up to bring him home, but the phone had just rang and rang for so long he gave up.
Roman had first planned to pick Remus up, drop him off, then get back to Virgil's house but now he was just curious as to what his brother was doing. And he had a nagging idea...
He padded around the rooms, glancing around and finally stopping in front of Jan's door. Smirking softly, he turned the handle and peeked inside.
Sure enough, Janus and Remus were curled up together, nestled in a pile of blankets. Each was snoozing, with Jan making soft little purr-rr sounds and Remus just quietly snoring.
Not one to miss an opportunity, Roman's grin grew wider as he pressed the camera app on his phone.
Once several blackmail snapshots had been taken, he crept back out to drive to Virgil's house.
He could let his brother have a moment.
(Not without taking photos, of course.)
