I
-——Jesse——-
Panting,I placed my hand against the rough, coarse bark. Light shone onto me in small flecks, sheltering me,my sister and my girlfriend from the summer haze.
"Jesse? Are you good?"Helen asked, patting me on my back.
"Yeah,"I wheezed, taking out my inhaler and pressing it once.I coughed and spluttered.
Coping comfort to me,my sister led me towards the bridge, where Bianca was waiting for them.
"What was it?Jesse's fucking stupid asthma?"she groaned, slapping me.
Ignoring an anguished Helen,my girlfriend strutted off.I sighed and followed her, ignoring Helen's desperate pleads to go back.
Trees leered over me as Bianca and I strolled over the bridge, listening intently to the dripping of water from the wood.It had rained an hour ago.
"Hurry the fuck up!"Bianca snapped at me.
"Jessie!Jessie!"Helen cried, dashing towards me and stepping in front of me and my girlfriend. The two of them glared at each other.
Tears pricked in my brown eyes as I stepped back, turning around.
"You aren't leaving!"Bianca snapped, grabbing me by my arm.
"Stop,Bianca!" Helen shrieked, shoving her away from me.
I made my way away from them and checked my watch: 15:39.I'll be home by six.
"Come on!"Bianca cried, snatching me by my hand and pulling me over the bridge.
Sighing and on the brink of tears,Helen hurried after us two.We eventually reached the gate to the park.Bianca smirked before pushing it open. The three of us stepped out onto the field.
Sprawling expanses of grass rolled over the flat heaths.I followed Bianca into the caravan.Small ruvlets of rain wept onto the window.
