-Author's P.O.V.-
It has been about a year since the trio had arrived in the past. They were all careful not to draw to much attention to themselves, and have spent the last year training and planning. It was decided that the best solution was to help the Uchiha build ties and bonds with other clans so that they wouldn't feel so ostracized from the village. Then there would be no need for the massacre. So now that they are all 5 years old they decided to start their plan. They decided to start it then because they had to train. After all people would be suspicious if they saw a group of 4 year olds with huge amounts of chakra (as in Kage level or even higher and then Naruto whose chakra would dwarf a Kage thank you Kurama). So onto the faze one of the plan.

-3rd P.O.V.-
Team 7 was meeting up at the normal training ground for a meeting Naruto called.
"What do you need Naruto?" Sakura asked as she appeared from the tree line.
"I think it is time to begin faze one of the plan." Naruto replied seriously as Sasuke appeared next to Sakura. They would start at the academy in about a month so they needed to start their plan. The Uchiha massacre would occur about 5 months into their first year at the academy meaning they had 8 months to make the Uchiha not feel isolated and stop the massacre from happening. No problem (notice the sarcasm).
"So basically we will just be befriending or re-friending the former...er future members of the Konoha 12?" Sasuke thought aloud.
"Yes, if we or in particular, you, befriend the clan heirs of the other clans it will be easier to for us to create bonds between the Uchiha and other clans. We will help since we are friends with you and it will be easier if we all help bring everyone together."
Sasuke nodded in understanding, "So I will befriend Shino, Neji, and Tenten."
"And I will befriend Ino, Kiba, and Lee"
"Yeah, and I will get Hinata, Shikamaru, and Choji." Naruto finished.

-Sasuke's P.O.V.-
I was running around the village trying to act as much like my 5 year old self as I could as I searched for my first to be..re... Whatever..friend, Shino. I decided to check near the woods where he would often go to look for new bugs. After a few minutes of searching I found him looking at a beetle on a tree.
"Cool beetle" I spoke up like a curious child which has become easier over the year in which we have been here. I saw him jump a bit not having notice me approach.
He turned to me, "Uchiha." I heard him mumble.
"Yeah my name is Sasuke Uchiha." I introduced myself smiling.
"Shino Aburame." He introduced himself bluntly.
"You looking for bugs?" He nodded, "Can I help?" I asked. I felt his chakra fluctuate a bit. Probably from surprise at my question. He nodded and I smiled and began to look around finding myself feeling reminiscent of the times I was a carefree child before the massacre. I decided to enjoy this time I had, because with the plan I won't always have the time to enjoy these moments. I found a bug that I recognized as one of the bugs Shino had found and mentioned in the future during a time of peace during the war. It was about a year before he died. Shaking the thoughts away I quickly grabbed the bug, moving quickly remembering that this particular species could fly pretty fast and were harder to catch. I took a minute, but when I finally got a hold of it I smiled triumphantly and ran back to where I sensed Shino's chakra.
"Hey Shino, I found one!" In shouted excitedly. What? I am a kid again, I should at least enjoy it right. I saw him turn to look at me and then at my cupped hands. Slowly, I opened my hands careful not to let it escape. His eyes widened so much that I could see them slightly from behind his shades.
"That's a flying bullet beetle!" He shouted shocked. (Completely made up. If there is a beetle named this I have no idea and it isn't this beetle) "They are supposed to be really hard to catch!" Still staring at the insect crawling around on the in my cupped hands. "How did you manage to get one!?"
Knowing I couldn't show him the abilities I used to catch the bug since no 5 year old should be able to have the abilities I have now I pointed to myself with a big grin and said, "I am just that awesome!" We both laughed a bit at my answer, well Shino just chuckled a bit though. Still, I could tell he was a bit curious as to how I caught the bug, but it didn't matter as long as I was careful. We ended up spending the rest of the day catching bugs until Itachi came looking for me. To say he was surprised would be an understatement. When he saw what I was doing his jaw hit the ground which caused me to laugh. After he recomposed himself Shino's father, Shibi Aburame came for Shino. He was rather surprised as well, but managed to hid it better than Itachi. So, after that I went home talking to Itachi about my day, of course leaving out some details. I was happy i had managed to befriend Shino and wondered how the other two were doing."

-Sakura's P.O.V.-
'Okay, how am I supposed to befriend Ino? I am not going to act like my shy kid self. I don't think I could stand stuttering over every word I say.' I was headed towards a familiar flower shop as I debated with myself over the concept of befriending a certain blond female. Taking a deep breath I opened the door and heard the shop bell ring signaling my arrival.
"Hello?" A child's voice called. Sounded like Ino was helping out at the shop even at this age.
"Hi!" I called back. A small blonde head popped out from behind the counter. When her eyes met mine she smiled.
"Hi! I'm Ino, welcome to Yamanaka flowew shop. Do you need help wiff anyting?" She asked.
"Yeah, do you have any flowers my mom might like. I wanted to get her some." I smiled back at her.
"Hmm...wew my momma told me dese mean love and admorwaton" (hmm... well my momma told me these mean love and admiration) she handed me some pretty pink carnations.
"Thanks how much are they?"
"Wait heor, I need to ashk my momma." (Wait here, i need to ask my momma.) She disappears into the back of the shop before minutes later reappears dragging a young classy looking brunette behind her. I recognized her immediately as Inomi, Ino's mother. She sees me and bends down to look at me.
"Hello there," She smiled, "what's your name?"
"I'm Sakura Haruno!" I announced happily.
"Well Ms. Haruno. Ino tells me that you wish to buy some flowers." She states.
"mhm!" I gave her a closed eyes smile as I showed her the pink carnations. I didn't think acting like a kid would be this easy, but I guess I was starting to get the hang of it.
"Okay that will be 1,600 yen." I reached into my pocket and pulled out the money before handing it over to Inomi. Then I got to the real reason I came here.
"Hey Ino, do you want to go out and play?" I smiled at the 5 year old blonde. She smile and wide grin that showed her missing front teeth and looked at her mother hopefully.
"Go on," she gently pushed her daughter towards the door causing Ino's grin to widen. She grabbed my hand and began dragging me to the park. That was easier than I expected it to be.

-Naruto's P.O.V.-
I was standing outside the Hyuga compound trying to figure out the best strategy to befriend my future wife. I felt myself begin to blush slightly. Stupid child body. I was standing in the shadows not bothering to fully suppress my chakra. I just made sure it was near the amount my child self would have had. I knew I wouldn't remain undetected for long, but if i had completely suppressed my chakra i would be even more suspicious. A minute later the front gates opened. Figuring I had been detected I prepare to reveal myself and act the part of an innocent 5 year old. Instead though a familiar short haired child walked out with whom I assumed to be a guard. Damn I'm lucky. I noticed they were headed in the direction of the training grounds. I assumed that Hiashi wanted to start training his air already. It made me angry because she was still only 5 years old. In the Academy we didn't start any real hard core training until we were 7! I had never wanted to beat up my father in law more than I had at that moment. Using my full speed I made it to the training ground and waited. When I sensed they were close I began to lightly kick the tree acting like I was working really hard, even though I could pretty easily knock the tree over with just a few kicks. In my adult body I could have knocked it down in one half trying kick. Another downside of being turned into a child. Although I am not complaining. After all, my wife is still alive. I felt the gaze of narrowed eyes on the back of my head. The guard must be one of the many "Demon Child Haters".
"You! Brat! What are you doing here?" I whirled around in fake surprise at the guard's shout.
"Training!" I grinned widely. The narrowed eyes turned into a glare. It looked like he was about to take Hinata to a different training ground when I interrupted him. "Hey Hyuga-chan!" Hinata turned to me, "do you wanna train with me dattebayo?" So it returns.
"U-um?" She stuttered. I grabbed her hand gently as I tugged her further into the training field.
"You brat! What do you think you are doing with Lady Hinata!?"
I looked at him, mischief lighting in my eyes, "Training, didn't you hear me?" I saw Hinata cover up a small smile next to me causing me to grin happily.
"Why you little-"
"By the way, my name's Naruto, Uzumaki Naruto! And I'm going to be the best Hokage ever!" I announced.
"N-Nice to m-meet you N-Naruto-kun." She stuttered while pushing two fingers together. It took everything I had not to coo at her. "I'm H-Hinata."
"So do you want to train with me?" I asked smiling kindly.
"S-Sure," she nodded.
"Now wait a-" the guard tried.
"Come on Hinata-chan!" I grabbed her wrist and ran off into the woods. Even though the guard was a Hyuga I knew it wouldn't be to difficult to ditch him. When I knew we were in the clear I brought her to a small clearing with a small lake. I smiled remembering the time I got to bring her here for a date. It wasn't even a week later that Madara showed back up and War consumed everything and everyone. Including my pregnant wife. I shook the memories away and made a silent vow to not let that happen again. I walked to the lake and turned to look at her.
"I'm going to show you a cool trick my friend taught me!" I shouted as I stepped onto the water. I walked slowly further out before turning back to her. She was looking at me in awe and admiration. "Want me to teach you?"
"Want me to teach you?" I asked.
"R-Really!?"
"Believe it!" I made my way back over to her.

I spent the next few hours teaching Hinata water walking. I used my chakra to help guide hers although I don't think she noticed. We ended up spending the rest of the day running around on the lake. Eventually though, Hinata got tired and we decided to head back so she didn't pass out. Over the past hour or so her stuttering had gone down a bit as well. It made me smile when i realized she was beginning to feel more comfortable around me. When we arrive at the compound entrance we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways. I went to bed with a smile on my face that night.
