Chapter 41

"Carter, can I talk to you?" Harry sticks his head in my bedroom.

"I guess so." I answer, scrolling through my Twitter.

"Can you come with me?" Harry walks towards my bed.

I look away from my cell phone's screen. "We can't talk here?"

"I want to go somewhere more private." Harry crouches down next to my bed.

I raise an eyebrow at him. "More private than my room that has no one else in it?"

Harry nods. "Basically, yeah."

I chuckle and toss my phone on my bed. "Alright. Let's go."

Harry smiles and reaches for my hand. I set mine in his and allow him to pull me up. I smooth out my wrinkled white v-neck.

It's Monday morning. Last night, John and Treyc were in the bottom two. John ended up going home. I hate to say this, but I'm glad that Treyc didn't go home. I'm closer to her then John. Now it's down to eleven in the house. One more and it will be the Top Ten.

This week's theme is Halloween. The judge's told us last night after the show. I have no idea what I'm going to sing. I can't think of any Halloween songs. It's a good thing that I have all of today to figure out what song I will sing.

"Where are we going?" I ask Harry after we walk downstairs.

"Outside." Harry replies.

That's it? That's all Harry is going to tell me. Why are we going outside? It's cold out there. I want to stay inside of the warm house. Harry leads me out of the back door to the little shed in the backyard. Why are we going to the shed? No one ever goes to it. I thought it was used for gardening tools or something.

I grab Harry's wrist, pulling him to a stop. "Are you taking me in there to rape me?"

"What?" Harry shouts. "Do I look like the type of person to do that?"

"No, but when someone takes you to a shed in the backyard all alone, you start to worry." I explain to him.

Harry shakes his and continues to the shed. "Don't worry, we're not alone."

"I thought you wanted to talk somewhere private?" I follow him, slightly confused.

Harry doesn't answer, instead he continues walking to the shed. I don't understand why he said we weren't alone. There is no one else out here with us. I'm not going to lie. I'm a little freaked out right now. Harry is taking me to the shed that no one ever goes to and it's freezing cold outside. It's like the beginning of a horror movie.

Harry stops right outside of the shed doors. "Don't hate me for this."

I take a step back. "What are you talking about, Harry? You're freaking me out."

"I'm not going to hurt you. Just remember that this wasn't my idea." Harry whispers.

"Harry?" A voice comes from inside of the shed. "Let me out of here!"

My eyes widen when I recognise the voice. Harry is going to try to lock me in the shed with Louis. No way. That's not going to happen. Harry smiles apologetically at me. I spin around on my heel and run back towards the house.

There is no way I am getting locked in a shed with Louis. I glance over my shoulder to see Harry chasing after me. Please don't let me trip. My hair whips around my face as I sprint up to the house. This whole thing had to be Cher's idea.

I reach the back door and quickly lock it behind me. Harry bangs on the door when he reaches it. I point at him and laugh. Hah. His plan failed. I wave to Harry through the window.

Two arms wrap around my waist and throw me over someone's shoulder. A scream escapes from my lips. I twist my head around trying to see who picked me up. I catch a glimpse of blonde hair.

"Niall!" I shout, banging on his back. "Let me go!"

"I can't do that." Niall begins walking away from the door.

"Why not?" I demand.

"Chill out, Carter." Cher steps into my vision.

"I'm not going to chill out! You're trying to make me talk to Louis! I don't want to talk to him!" I yell at her.

"You need to talk to him eventually." Cher points out.

"Or never." I wiggle around in Niall's arms, hoping he lets go of me.

"Stop moving!" Niall tightens his grip on me. "I hope Louis knows what he is getting himself into."

"What is that supposed to mean?" I question him.

"That Louis knows how mad you get." Niall explains to me.

"I wouldn't be getting mad if you would just sent me down!" I slap his back, annoyed.

"If I set you down will you promise not to run?" Niall stops walking.

"Yes." I cross my fingers.

Niall carefully sets me on my feet. "You still have to see Louis, though."

I cross my arms and glare at Niall and Cher. Cher walks ahead of us and opens the back door up. Niall walks out first. I back up slowly when they aren't looking. I break out into a run quickly. I run into a hard wall and stumble backwards.

"Where do you think you are going?" Matt stares down at me.

"Going for a run." I answer, casually.

"Away from Niall and Cher?" Matt raises an eyebrow at me.

"What?" I drag the word out and laugh nervously.

"You are driving me insane!" Cher marches over to us. "Look, I understand that you hate Louis right now, but I don't care. Everyone in this house is tired of you two not talking to each other. It's like the Great Depression hit you two! You are going to go see Louis even if we have to tie you up. It's your choice."

Twenty minutes later, Matt is carrying me outside to the shed. They tied me up. They actually tied me up. Matt held me down while Aiden, Cher, Harry, and Niall tied me up with rope. Well, it was actually two ropes.

Harry opens the shed door and Matt sets me on the floor. Both of them quickly leave the shed and slam the door shut. Louis is sitting against the back wall of the shed while staring at me. I move my hands around, hoping to loosen the ropes.

"Do you want my help?" Louis starts to stand up.

I purposely ignore him as I concentrate on getting out of these ropes. I do not need Louis's help. I can do this on my own. Louis walks over to me and reaches for my wrists. I yank them away from him.

"Just let me help you." Louis reaches for my wrists again.

I kick my feet on the floor to slide away from him. Louis sighs. He rests his arms on his legs as he watches me. I move my wrists in different ways, trying to get the rope to come off of my wrists. Then I can work on my ankles.

My wrists eventually turn red from me struggling so much. I will get loose. I don't need anyone's help. I am not a damsel in distress.

"Carter, I just wanted to apologise-"

"Don't bother." I snap. "I don't want to talk to you."

"You don't have to. All you have to do is listen. You don't have to say anything." Louis stands up and starts to pace the small shed. "I wanted to say that I'm sorry. I should have never believed what Craig told me. I know it's not true. I'm not sure why I believed him in the first place. I was just jealous from Aiden always hanging out with you."

"I feel horrible for how I treated you. I'm sorry for everything that I said to you. I deserved that slap. I deserved a lot more than just a slap. I should have never treated you like that." Louis stares down at me.

I should have punched him. Twice. I should have punched him twice. Maybe three times.

"This past week made me realise how much you mean to me." Louis crouches down to my eye level. "You're my best friend. I hated not being able to talk to you. It crushed me when Harry would come to our room and tell me that you cried yourself to sleep again. I hated it. I hated knowing that I caused that much pain to you."

I stare down at my red wrists to avoid his gaze. I move my wrists together, trying to get these ropes off.

"I realised that I don't want to be your best friend." Louis tells me.

My head snaps up to his face. What is that supposed to mean? He doesn't want to be my best friend anymore? Does he not care? Am I a bad best friend?

"I want to be more than that." Louis reaches for my wrists once again.

My breath catches in my throat. He wants to be more than that? Really? Am I dreaming or something?

Louis continues working on untying my wrists. "This entire week I have missed everything about you. I've missed how completely stubborn you can be. I've missed how annoying you can be at times."

"This isn't a good way to a girl's heart." I snap at him.

Louis smiles at me. "I missed how you are always so caring. I've missed how you love to joke around, how you stay strong no matter what, how you are so sweet. I've missed everything about you.

I bite my lip and stare at the floor. Why does he have to be so sweet?

"Now, I have one question for you." Louis pulls the ropes off of my wrists. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
