Chapter 28 - A Tiny Problem

Something doesn't feel right... but what is it? Maybe it's the fact that there's an empty feeling in the room or maybe because the only thing you were hugging was the stuffed dragon Rogue "won" for you at the beach's amusement park. Something just didn't feel right.

"Rogue?" You lightly whisper without turning around. There was no answer, not even movement. "Rogue?" You ask again, this time turning around to see that no one was there.

You get up, but when you do you feel something coming up, almost like a few nights ago. You were talking with Rogue and when you headed to bed, you almost fell over and puked. It was kind of like that now, but worse, a lot worse.

You wrap your huge blanket around your body and shuffle your way to the kitchen. You look at the fridge and see a note next to the dent Rogue caused after your fight. Yeah, there were at least three dents now in the apartment because of that fight.

You grab the note and read aloud to yourself. "To my beautiful fiance, Frosch and I went out on a quick mission and won't be back till later tomorrow. I asked Sting to check on you from time to time. You didn't look too good when I left, so I hope you're doing okay. Drink lots of water and rest. I'll see you soon. Love, Rogue and Frosch." You blush at how cheesy he sounded on paper. You also giggled when you saw a little paw print from Frosch on the paper.

Of course, completely ignoring everything Rogue told you to do, you decide to get changed and clean. You opened the porch doors to let in some nice fresh air and bright sunlight. You thought it might help you breath and relax. You didn't put too much on your plate of course. You just cleaned the kitchen and started the laundry. Luckily you finished the kitchen without feeling sick and you got all the laundry out to fold. You were feeling completely fine. Sort of...

Just as you were in the living room folding the small mountain of clothes on the gound, you felt something come up. You hold your hand over your mouth and grab the couch's arm to get up. You quickly run to the bathroom, knocking a few folded clothes down. It was worth it if it meant getting to the bathroom in time. Thankfully you did, letting out the last of yesterday's dinner.

Your head stayed by the toilet for a good 20 minutes. You didn't even bother to get up. All your energy vanished as you sat there, releasing all of your no longer wanted food. You wished that Rogue was there, but no, he was out on a job and wouldn't be back till tomorrow. LATE tomorrow.

"(Y/N)?" You suddenly hear your front door open and hear Sting shouting throughout the apartment.

"(Y/N), are you in here?" You hear Lector too.

Trying to hide the fact that you were sick as a dog, you flush the toilet and quickly close the door. Sting got to the door before you, holding it so you couldn't close it. "(Y/N), what's wrong?" Lector asks throuogh the door.

You were struggling and trying to close the door, but since all your energy was gone, Sting managed to open the door easily. "(Y/N)?" You give up and sit so your back was against the wall. "(Y/N), what's wrong with you?" Sting asks, crouching down next to you.

You bring your kness up to your chest and set your elbows on them. You tangle your fingerd in your hair, trying to cool off for a second. "I don't know. I thought it was nothing, but it's been getting worse and worse. It hasn't been like this for the past few days, and it felt perfectly fine this morning, but I guess my stomach just hates me."

Sting's eyes were wide. "That doesn't sound good. Maybe we need to take you to the hospital." Sting starts to grab your arm and pull you.up, but you resist and push him away.

"No way. I'm perfectly fine okay." You get up on your own and head to the living room.

Your attempt to show Sting you were fine failed, basically when you needed to puke again and pushed him out of the way to get there. "That doesn't look good (Y/N). We probably should take you to the hospital." Lector suggests.

You flush again and steady your breathing. "Y-Yeah, maybe the hospital isn't a bad idea."

~~~
"Hey, that was fast." You slowly walked into the lobby of the hospital, seeing a worried Sting and Lector. They had been waiting patiently for you in the lobby while you went to see the doctor.
You had just finished seeing the doctor, coming back with news you had no idea how to deal with. Your constant sickness wasn't life-threatening. It was just... surprising.
"What did the doctor say?" Sting asks, getting up from his chair.
You didn't answer. Your face was still blank and expressionless. You didn't even bother looking at the two. Your gaze was directly aimed at the ground in front of you.
"(Y/N)?" Lector asks, tapping on your shoulder.
You blink and take your focus away from the ground. You blink and few times, double checking if you were actually awake and there. "(Y/N)?" Sting and Lector ask again. "What did they say?"
"I'm pregnant."
Sting & Lector
"Sting? Lector? Why are you calling me on the guild's lacrima?" Rogue sounded tired and annoyed. After all, he didn't appreciate Sting and Lector calling him when he's in the middle of a mission.
"ROGUE YOU NEED TO COME HOME RIGHT AWAY!!!" Both Sting and Lector shouted into the communication lacrima.
Rogue seemed a bit annoyed that they called, but when they sounded scared, he immediately thought about (Y/N). "What's wrong?! Is (Y/N) okay?!"
"THAT'S THE THING! (Y/N) IS... well... she's..." Lector was about to tell Rogue what was going on, but froze in the process. He wanted to tell, but wasn't exactly sure how to say it.
"What's wrong with (Y/N)?! What happened Lector!?" Rogue started yelling through the lacrima, wanting to strangle them for not spilling it already. "Sting, what's going on?!"
"Well... the weather's nice... really sunny and such... hardly any wind..." Sting rubs the back of his head with a nervous smile.
"STING! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!" Yeah... Rogue was pissed...
"Should we just tell him?" Lector asks Sting.
Sting shrugs his shoudlers. "We have to don't we? I mean, (Y/N) did say it was okay."
"Guys!" Rogue shouts. "Tell me what is going on!"
"(Y/N)'s pregnant." Lector holds his ears down to keep them from being blown off. Sting also covered his ears. They were hoping that Rogue wouldn't be pissed and start yelling at them even worse.
"What?" Rogue barely spoke. "(Y/N) is..."
"Pregnant." Sting finishes.
There was a very long pause. Sting and Lector looked at eachother confused and shrugged. "I'm coming home." Was the last thing they heard from Rogue before the lacrima's communication ended.
"Sooooo is he angry?" Lector asked Sting, letting go of his ears.
Sting looked at the lacrima and then back at Lector. "Beats me."
Reader
So, there you were. You were walking down the streets of town, thinking and thingking and thinking. You tried to think of what Rogue would say about all of this. Would he be mad? Sad? Happy? Would he leave you? Would he smile? You had absolutely no idea. All you knew now was that there was a tiny little person growing inside of you. A tiny little bit of you and Rogue inside your very body.
On your walk home, you passed the bridge where you two talked. It was amazing how things change in just a few days. That's what you thought at least. Everything seemed so simple and normal, now it was all going to change. You keep walking and walking, wanting to get all this off your mind.
You look down at your lower stomach and touch it gently with your hands. You try to keep yourself from crying because you were out in public, but you couldn't help it. You felt a mixture of happiness and sadness.
"(Y/N)!" You jump. You could have swore that you heard Rogue yell your name. Ignoring the voice, you keep walking. "(Y/N)!" You jump again. Now you thought you finally lost it. "(Y/N)!"
You turn around and see Rogue running towards you with tears in his eyes. "R-Rogue?!" Rogue had the biggest grin, and you've never seen him run so fast in your life.
He came at you with full speed, picking you up and spinning you around right there in front of everybody. "You're pregnant! I can't belive it! We're gonna have a baby!" He stopped spinning you around, but he didn't let go. He hugged you as hard as he could, well, without hurting you of course. He didn't want anything to happen to the baby. "Oh my god. You have no idea how happy I am!" His hand was on the back of your head pulling you and hugging you closer. "We're gonna have a baby!"
You froze, but when he kept repeating how happy he was, you couldn't help but cry. "Wait, so you're happy?" You ask him with your face pushed into his chest.
"Why wouldn't I be happy?! You're having my baby! We're gonna have a baby!" He lets you go and grabs your cheeks and kisses you multiple times. "Oh my god. I love you so much." He hugs you again and kisses you on the head over and over.
You felt so at ease. All your stress was lifted off your shoulders. You've never seen Rogue so happy too, it was kind of sweet. "I love you (Y/N), and you too, little baby." Rogue bent down to hold and kiss your stomach.
You could feel the love radiating off of him. It was like seeing a completely different Rogue. You felt so worried, but now you know you had nothing to worry about. "I love you too, and so does our baby." You smile and start tearing up. You didn't even care if people nearby were looking. All you cared about was this moment.
