Convincing the Hooligans

"Ok bud remember what I told you. Don't blast 'em just yet we need to convince them you're harmless"

"Grrgrr grrerr"

The two friends flew away from the cove to the town proper of Berk. Hiccup decided not to chase Astrid down just to avoid scarring her wits out. The fact that they both, Hiccup and Toothless, need to let the village to trust them. Especially his dad.

Dad....

Hiccup's father, Stoick the Vast, wasn't easy to convince. Along with the council and the whole tribe, Hiccup was nothing but an obstacle, in Hiccup's perspective though.

It seems like Stoick had more obligation to the village than to his son, Hiccup was left alone with Gobbet training him at the forge to become a smith. Gobber was the only person who listens and, sometimes, understands his troubles. Hiccup wondered why Gobbet had not got tired of his antics, even though the whole tribe go against his inventions and ideas.

Berk's plaza could be seen by the distance as they flew closer and closer.

"Here we go bud, let's try landing slowly-"

Before Hiccup could finish ordering Toothless what to do, a villager surprised both of them. The Berkian was hiding among the trees and tossed a spear merely aiming Toothless' head.

"The dragon's coming"

It was a surprise attack. Who knew the people of Berk could plan an attack this quick.

"Wait stop!"

Hiccup pleaded as he hang on to Toothless.

"Capture its wings men, the dragon will slow down"

As the villager threw the rope with rocks attached to each end, instead of hitting the dragon's tail it hit Hiccups head.

Hiccup groan in pain as the rocks impact hit his head, he lost balance off Toothless and slided down Toothless side. Toothless was out of control without his rider but he still had the control to save his friend.

Toothless grabbed the unconscious Hiccup and wrapped him around his wings. Good thing they were a few feet from the ground so landing that hard won't be that painful for Toothless.

Toothless formed a plasma blast aiming at a few villagers to give him way as he land with Hiccup under his wing, earning the whole villagers his screetch.

"NIGHT FURY!!

As Toothless' body hit the ground, Hiccup woke up with a loud thud. His mind settled when he remembered he was falling from Toothless. Hiccup could now see that the dragon he once brought down, gave a new tail and bonded with just saved his life.

"Thanks bud" Hiccup rubbed his nose.

But the moment ended up quickly because the villagers grabbed Hiccup away from Toothless. Then he heard his uncle Spitelout.

"HICCUP'S WITH THE DRAGO"

"GET THAT DRAGON"

"Wait you don't understand"

Spitelout and the others threw a net over Toothless. Hiccup got to his side, he didn't care about his aching head. All he cared was Toothless to be safe. Toothless was struggling to get free. It was no use.

"Oh no Toothless I'm sorry we shouldn't have done this"

"HICCUP WHAT IN THOR'S NAME ARE YOU DOING?!"

Hiccup nearly dropped his dagger but held on to it. He has to tell his father, he has to tell them that killing dragons won't help solve their problem. They can be trusted.

He turned around to face hi father, "Dad I have some explaining to do"

"Odin's beard yes ya do, why are you planning to attack Berk with that damn dragon"

"Attacking? No wait dad I'm not attacking Berk I brought him here with me"

Astrid and the rest of the teens came behind Stoick, Gobber and the rest of the council. They saw a glimpse of Hiccup's side, they saw blood trailing down on the right side of his head. Astrid gasped by the sight of it, a little side of her was worried about him but she refused to go near his side.

One of the council came behind Stoick and said something "Careful Stoick, your son can't be trusted anymore with that dragon"

"Bash is right Stoick, look at him he has broken another tradition" Another said at his right.

Stoick considered his council's opinion but he is the chief, decisions will end up with him.

"Son we have to get rid of this dragon look at the trouble you have-"

"I'm not causing any trouble dad I just want you to hear me out for a moment"

"Hiccup enough, we kill the dragon now before another one comes. We still have to gather enough food for winter and we hardly gathered enough for everybody if we don't move now"

"That's just about it dad he could help" Hiccup said as he pointed Toothless "Cuz you see-"

"A dragon? Are you out of your mind Hiccup they started the raid"

"And we could end the raid if we stop killing them and worked together"

Stoick thought that his son is loosing it for the last time.

"Dad please you have to believe me they're not dangerous at all. They could help us restore enough food for us in the winter, if we could just release the rest of the dragons-"

"And risked getting the rest of the villagers killed? I won't that happen!"

The argument goes on

"I could tame them, if you let me show you and...and life here would be a lot easier"

At the moment Stoick couldn't decide what to do. He can't release the dragons nor even take the risk of loosing a few lives in the village. Tame the dragons? That was absurd, no one has ever done that. He could not believe that Hiccup could tame a Night Fury. This is absolutely a joke.

"Don't let him Stoick!"

"Yeah look at the damage that has happened"

"Tame the boy not the dragon!"

"He's out of his mind, just look at his head!"

"Don't believe em Stoick, we've got enough trouble for one day"

The whole village complained and questioned the chief. They wanted the dragon to be gone. Hiccup's plans were failing him again. He could hear a lot of the villagers call him nasty things. He looked up at his father and begged.

"Dad please"

The chief could not take the pressure anymore, this was too much, too much. Too much that it reminds him so much of his wife.

"Dad please believe in me I could make things better. Our problems would be solved, there is no need to battle against these dragons. I promise you dad they'll help us if you just let me show yo-"

"THAT'S ENOUGH" he fumed with anger. Hiccup was taken aback, but what took his surprise was the next sentence that left his father's mouth.

"You disappoint me Hiccup.........Lock him in the cell make sure he stays there as for the dragon lock it up with the others we'll execute it before his eyes at sundown"

Stoick left with the council, Gobber stayed with eyes and mouth open wide at his bestfriend.

And that was it, the guards pulled Toothless to the other dragons.

"Toothless!" Hiccup tried to reach him but it was no use, the guards drag him too to his prison cell.

Everyone went back to their daily chores except for the teens of Hiccup's age. Astrid, for some reason, had the urged to talk to Hiccup. As she watched the guards take Hiccup to his cell she hoped that they should have at least treat his wound.

Gobber was about to protest, but it seems in the mean time he has nothing to do about it. He left the teens heading towards the forge.

The teens then moved on with their doings, Astrid stayed behind starring at the prison entrance. As for Hiccup, the guards threw him in. Agian, his head got bumped on a wall which reminded him that someone had hit his head earlier.

He tore a piece of cloth from his tunic then wrapped placed it on his wounded head. He winced as the fabric touched the damaged skin. As he treated his own wound, he thought about Toothless and Toothless being executed later.

"This is all my fault, we should have just ran away" He curled up and hugged his knees.

For once in his life he just wished he wasn't born a viking
