Out
Robin found himself on the sidewalk.
He was bleeding from several scrapes and tears in his outfit.
He put his hand up to his head.
Half his mask was gone!
And blood dripped from his forehead.
Suddenly, he heard voices.
Shoot!
He had to get out of here, now!
Robin jumped up even though everything was in fiery pain.
He had to get out!
He had to escape!
Slade would understand, right?
He didn't belong there!
He knew he belonged to Slade, but not while they were in there!
Robin ran.
Star City was Green Arrow's territory.
He also had Artemis and Red Arrow here.
One of them would come check out the explosion.
Maybe if he was lucky, they would find him instead of Slade or the other villains!
But if they find him, they'd take him from Slade.
Maybe he should wait for Slade?
Robin climbed to the rooftops.
No one would think to look there for him after an explosion, yeah?
They'd probably think that he's hurt, laying somewhere.
He jumped to another rooftop and kept running.
"STOP!" he suddenly heard.
Richard slid to a stop at the familiar voice.
He looked back to see Green Arrow behind him on the other side of the rooftop.
He had an arrow pointing at him.
"Richard?" Green Arrow asked in disbelief.
Robin's breathing picked up.
It wasn't supposed to be like this!
Slade was supposed to find him and then they were supposed to go back to the Haunt with Wintergreen!
The heroes weren't supposed to find him.
Now, they were going to take him away from Slade!
"No, you stop." A cold, clear voice sliced through the air.
Slade!
Richard looked over and saw Slade.
He was in his outfit, but he had several tears and blood stains on him.
He, however, had no wounds thanks to his healing factor.
Green Arrow pressed his S.O.S. button.
"Robin is going to come with me." Slade said.
"LIKE HELL!" Artemis screamed as she got onto the rooftop.
She pressed her S.O.S. too.
"He ain't going anywhere else with YOU!" Red Arrow spit as he pressed his S.O.S. too and got on the rooftop.
"And you three are going to stop me?" Slade laughed.
"No. We are." Superman said as he flew down and landed on the rooftop.
Many other Leaguers came down onto the rooftop or surrounding rooftops.
"Deathstroke." Batman growled.
"Batman. League." Slade nodded.
Batman yelled as he flung himself at Slade.
The two started fighting, fists flying, kicks thrown, and jumping happening.
Robin was breathing heavily and quickly as he watched the two men he held dearly in his life fighting.
This couldn't be happening!
No!
This. No. No. NO!
Robin wanted them to stop.
Stop fighting!
He knew only one way to make them stop.
He grabbed his last gun off his hip.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Slade threw a kick before they all heard it go off.
A gunfire.
Both Batman and Slade stopped and looked over to where they heard the noise.
Robin was holding the gun to his chin!
"Stop!" Robin said with a shaky voice.
"Robin. Put the gun down." Batman held his hands up and took a step towards him.
"STOP!" Robin yelled, more power in his voice this time, but still a bit shaky.
"Robin, just put down the gun. We've stopped, see?" Batman said.
"Stop." Robin said.
"What do you want?" Batman asked.
"I-I want to go home!" Robin said.
"Okay. You can come home. No one is mad at you. No one will lock you up. You can come home, honey." Batman said, sincerity very clear.
"No! I want to go home! I want Wintergreen and Slade and the Haunt!" Robin yelled after shaking his head.
"Okay. We can go home." Slade said.
"No. He's not going with you. You've done enough damage already." Batman said in a very firm voice.
"I believe he wants to come home with me. Not you." Slade said, eye narrowing at Batman.
"Robin, we'll get this figured out. Can you give me the gun though?" Black Canary asked in a calm voice.
"I want to go home." Robin said, looking at her.
"And you can. Just give me the gun." Black Canary said.
"You can't promise that." Flash whispered to her.
"He's showing signs of Stockholm Syndrome, Barry." Black Canary whispered to him.
"Oh shit. That means-" Black Canary glared at him and nodded.
"I can go home?" Robin asked, the gun falling just a bit.
"Yes. Just let me have the gun." Black Canary nodded.
Robin looked at her a few moments before handing the gun over.
Suddenly, he was grabbed from behind and held tightly in someone's arms.
Robin struggled to get out, but couldn't.
Red gloves took a syringe and injected a sedative into his neck.
Robin looked up as he started feeling sleepy.
Kid Flash.
His eyes closed.
"He'll never trust you again, you know that?" Black Canary asked as she took him from Kid Flash.
"I know. It's better if he's safe though." Kid Flash knew what he did.
He knew he lost his best friend.
But it was better than him being dead.
The verbal fight between Batman and Slade broke out into a physical one not too long ago.
The two slowly circled each other.
Suddenly, a shot rang out and everyone saw it go into Slade's head.
His body hit the rooftop.
Batman looked around only to see Deadshot with a sniper riffle, holding up a salute.
"Bang, bitch." Deadshot said and ended his salute.
THIS IS NOT OVER!!!
