"Caleb I need you to be a welcomer for our newest student. She comes from New York. She has traveled all the way to Texas. Please show her our greatness and make her feel welcome." Principle Grosh says looking at me seriously.

I nod my head slowly, "Whats her name? And when will she be here?"

"Hey name is Valerie. She should be here by 5th period today. I will call you to my office then. Understood."

"Crystal clear Sir." I stand and shake his hand before walking out. I am having trouble finding out why he would pick me to be the welcomer. I don't even have all A's. I'm only the football team captain.

I walk back into Mr. Trenchpal class and my best friend and co-captain Jared snickers. I shoot him a look and return to my seat in the back of the class.

"Mr. Mc' Grumber you will have to catch up to the class. That will be your homework understood?"

"Yes Ma'am." I sigh and collect my things into my backpack when the bell rings.

I walk into 5th period and take my seat not taking out my bags knowing I won't be staying in there long. Jared walks up to me and smirks, "What did you do now?"

"I didn't do anything shit head. He asked me to be a welcomer for a new student." I say matter factly. He rolls his eyes.

The teacher walks in as the bell rings and Jared walks to his seat. The intercom beeps and Principle Grosh's voice cut in through the class noise, "Hi Mr.Trunch I need Caleb Mc' Grumber in my office please."

"He is on his way sir." Mr.Trunch shoos me out. I walk to the principles office with sweaty hands. My backpack bumps on my back with each step I take.
