"SHES CRASHING!!!" I was faintly aware of my surroundings as I struggled to breathe. The air was stolen from my lungs and I felt like I was drowning, but there was no water in sight. I searched the room frantically for William. I found him in the thrall of all the nurses and doctors and I locked on to his gaze hoping that I could fight whatever was happening. Within two steps he was at my side and holding my hand as the doctors and nurses stuck needles in me. There was a slight sting in my hand and before I could fully register it my eye lids began to droop and before I knew it everything was black. While I lay in the darkness I began to feel a weight lifted from my chest. I was able to breathe again. I no longer felt panicked. It was.... peaceful. It was bliss. I silently thought to myself is this what death feels like?

Williams pov

I laid Kate on the bed and she wouldn't let go so I removed her "claws" from my shirt. I was standing right next to her when her eyes glazed over. I thought to myself oh no, this can't be good... I held her hand tighter. "Katie. Katie. Look at me Katie. Katie everything is going to be ok just look at me..... Focus! " But rather than looking at me Katie's stats started falling. "SHES CRASHING" the nurse screamed. She stepped on a button on the floor and the bed began to lay Katie flat. A Doctor and about three nurses flooded into the room. I backed off trying to give them some space. Then Katie's eyes opened and she searched until her gaze locked onto to mine. I knew then that she needed me. I took the two steps to the side of her bed and picked up her hand again.
"Come on Katie! Fight it!! I am right here" I whispered in her ear. Then it's as if a balloon were being deflated Katie's eyes drooped closed and her hand went limp in mine. I took a deep breathe fearing the worst when a nurse broke through my panic and said "sir we gave her a mild sedative. We are gonna put a special type of oxygen mask on her until we can figure out what is going on." I just nodded my head as the nurse continued on mumbling. She kept saying things to me but I was to focused on Katie and watching the rise and fall of her chest that I feared if I even blinked she would forget to breathe and start crashing again.

Katie pov

I locked gaze with Will fearing for my life. Around me my vision was blurring but I used every shred of strength I had and kept focusing on will. In the midst of all the chaos I felt a slight sting and hissed quietly under my breath. That's when the world started to fade away. I felt panicked but as if in answer to my panic a wave of calm settled over me and I was just drifting. I could no longer see will. Inside I was panicked but mentally I was calm it was as if two entities inside me where fighting for control. I don't know how else to put it. After a few minutes of the entities fighting I had no energy left to hold on to... so reality slipped further away from me until I no longer felt the bed underneath me or wills hand in mine. I feel into a blissful sleep.

Will pov

"There is nothing to fear sir. She is stable now." So what in bloody hell happened?! One minute she is perfectly fine and the next I am hearing you scream SHE'S BLOODY CRASHING!!!! I took a steadying breath letting my panic escape me. "Sir I do promise you she is fine. We gave her the sedative and we are running tests right now." And what of her leg? "We will look at that as well. As a matter of fact I will go check on where she is on the list of people." Thank you. "No problem sir. " I watched the nurse walk out of the room and when I was sure that I was completely alone I walked over to Katie's side and laid on the bed next to her. I laid curled up next to her side watching the rise and fall of her chest.

The room was completely silent except for Katie's breathing. The mask she was wearing seemed to be helping which I was very thankful for but what I wanted most was for Katie to wake up. I wanted to see her beautiful eyes and hold her in my arms and tell her everything is ok. I felt as if in the short time I have known Katie that she has become my rock in the midst of a storm. She was my world!! I pulled Katie in close and held her close against me as if my world depended on her staying near me.

Katie Pov

I began to see light filter in. I suddenly became aware of an unfamiliar weight on my nose and mouth area. I opened my eyes my heart rate kicking into second gear when I became aware of an unusual yet loving presence holding me. I opened my eyes blinking back the fog from the edges of my vision. I carefully turned my head and realized that it was Will who was holding me. I couldn't help but smile and be grateful for the steady reassuring presence that Will provided me with. I took off the oxygen mask on my face and threw it off and onto the floor. I shifted my body around so that my face was directly in front of Will. I used my hand and gently pulled his hair out of his face. Will's eyes shot open. I smiled up at him and he smiled right back at me. "I am glad to see you awake." he said in a groggy voice. "I am glad to be awake Will." "You know Will when I couldn't breathe I feared that I was loosing you....." "Oh Katie, you wont loose me I promise." With that promise in mind I scooted closer into Will's arms. I made my body curve next to his so that I fit next to him perfectly. Will put his arms around me and pulled me in nice and close. I couldn't remember the last time that I had ever felt so safe and loved. With that in mind I just closed my eyes and listened to Will's even breathing. "Will I don't know who I am but one thing I am sure of is I love you Will and if I can ever remember who I am I want you to be no matter what." I felt Will's body shift and felt his breathe against my ear. "Katie I promise I will help you remember. Oh and Katie I love you too and want to be apart of your world as much as you want me to be apart of yours" he whispered in my ear. Will nipped my ear slightly and I was suddenly snatched into a horrid flashback

~ Flash Back~

I felt his breathe hot against my ear as I pulled against the restraints that were now holding me down. There was a pool of blood around me. I didn't know whose blood it was and my heart was racing out of my chest. "Oh I do wish you would quit struggling it would make this process so much easier for you lovely." I tried in a desperate hope to use my feet to trip him even though they were restrained. While the man turned his back on me I put my feet in his way. I used my shoulder and rocked a crate behind me until it fell to the floor with a crash bang. My captor turned around coming at me fast and furious as ever. " WHAT HAVE YOU { insert curse word} DONE?!!!!!" When he came towards me he wasn't paying attention to where my feet were and fell. He fell to the ground like a giant and crashed to the floor. When he finally got up he looked over at me with rage and hatred in his eyes. "You........ You will pay for this." I began to tremble at his words and the raw animosity that he had towards me. "Now you cower? What a baby." I tried to retort but I was gagged. All that I managed to get out was muffled and inaudible sounds. In my head I was screaming out I am not the cowered you are. You tie me up, gag me and expect me not to fear for my life!!!!! Then out of no where I am struck in the back of the head and I fall to the ground. On my way down I managed to hit my head on some of the crates before my head found its way down to the bottom of the cold hard solid rock floor. Bone met with solid concrete and I heard a faint crack before I blacked out. I was blessedly appreciative of the black chasm that now enveloped me and kept me blissfully unaware of the pain and horror that was sure to be there roaring in my face when I awoke.

With a gasp I sat up straight in the bed and began hyperventilating. "Katie whats wrong?" I couldn't find the strength in me to reply to William. I just kept breathing heavily. My vision began to cloud.... Warm arms wrapped around me and brought me close.

William Pov

"Katie whats wrong?" I waited for a response but none came. I could hear Katie breathes coming in heavy gasping rasps. I thought back to my medical training and realized Katie was beginning to hyperventilate. Instinctively I wrapped my arms around Katie and turned her to face me. I met her stare. Her eyes wide as saucers. Her heart monitor was going crazy. I knew that if I didn't bring her breathing back down to normal she would end up passing out. I racked my brain for the best fix to Katie's situation. Then it hit me (not literally) I put my hand over Katie's nose so she would inhale less oxygen and slightly more carbon dioxide. Her breathing started to slow and her gaze became less glazed and more focused. I got near her ear and whispered "Katie my love it was just a nightmare. Everything is alright! I promise I would never let anything bad happen to you!

With that said Katie took my hand off her nose and pulled me up on the bed next to her, I just cradled her. She laid her head to rest upon my chest and I pulled her in tight swearing to her that I would never allow anything to harm her. I knew Katie was nearing sleep as her body became more dependent upon mine supporting hers. So I just leaned back got comfortable and held tight to my Katie bug.
