Prologue
A 7 year old Ben sat in an old beat up car with an old man driving up front. The man looked back at Ben in the rearview mirror. "So, Benjamin, do you think you'll like your camp?" He asked the boy.
Ben huffed, his arms crossed. "I don't wanna! Why can't I just play little league?" He asked the man who chuckled softly.
"Oh, come now Benjamin. You don't mean that! Besides! I went to this camp when I was your age and my father before me. Not so much your mother, but the tradition is for the men in our family. So? Why not give it a try? Think of it like a right of passage." He explained to his grandson.
"Grampa Max is better." He mumbled under his breath. This caused the man to twitch an eye.
"Benjamin Kirby Tennyson." He said in a low voice. "As nice as Max is, you shouldn't insult me like that. Max may go easy on you, but I won't. I will not have any disrespect in my car! Now, unless you have something positive or useful to say just shut up." The man said through gritted teeth.
Ben had been muttering that line for the past several hours and it was getting on his nerves. Since Max actually lived in Bellwood Ben got to see him more often so their bond was stronger, but Gabriel didn't. He lived in a city a good few miles away running a small business so him & the Mrs could get by. This left them busy and with almost no time to see Ben.
Because of his and the fact that Max's soft side could be to soft sometimes made Ben love Max, but seemingly hate Gabe. No matter what Gabe did, Max was always better. It got to the point that just hearing the man's name made him livid.
When they got to the sleep away camp Gabe lead Ben to the front desk and checked him in.
When Ben went to his cabin he noticed a girl in the one next to his. She had black hair and odd eyes. Her left eye was a cyan color and her right eye was a royal blue. She had pale skin and seemed just as 'pleased' as he was to be there.
Soon in the following weeks they became friends as many things happened that summer. Things that were foggy in Ben's memory now as he looked out the window of Kevin's car.
"BEN!" Gwen's voice called as Kevin threw a smoothie at him. Said action earned Kevin a good glare from Gwen. Ben looked to them in surprise. "Wh-what? What happened?" He asked, as if in a daze.
"Ben? Are you alright man?" Kevin asked in concern as he looked to his friend in the rearview mirror. "You didn't even get mad about the smoothie I threw at you." He continued, a bit concerned.
"What has you do spaced out?" Gwen asked. The concern was obvious on her face.
"I... Just thinking about the past. Well... Someone I knew in the past." He explained. He didn't know why, but he had an odd dream about that girl from camp. He knew her name. Blake Silver Moon. He also knew he hadn't seen her since the 8th grade when her family moved. He actually kinda missed her, but for some reason her name and face are all that he can remember clearly. Everything else seems to be a blur. As if something were blocking the memories.
Blake look out her window. She sat in a castle tower as she looked over a village. She looked to the white sky and the beautiful yellow sun. She sighed in boredom. Her birthday would be in a few weeks and here she was feeling sorry for herself. Then again it was the anniversary of when her parents took her away from Earth and refused to let her go back. Of the last time she got to see Ben. Of when she had to break off her relationship with the human in order to save him and protect him from her father's wrath.
She missed Ben. She still loved him. With all her heart.
Then, the next thing she new, the castle was attacked and she barley made it to a shuttle to escape.
