Chapter 10: Finding her
(unedited. Sorry, I was in too much of a hurry to properly edit. Forgive, and try to understand 💖)
Hilex POV
The doors opened to me, and I was met with a dozen flashing lights, a couple hundred muttering voices. I scanned my surrounding with a determined smirk on my face, as I walked into the conference hall. I smiled victoriously at the crowd that laid before my eyes, with full determination to keep to the promise I had made.
I strolled in, and stood before multiple mics placed before me, as the crowd muted itself as on impulse wanting to hear what I had to say. I had called them here for a reason and they were about to know why. My eyes scanned the crowd, as I spoke.
"There has been word going around about an engagement between Sofia Aviel and I by Mr Thomas Black, My Father and I am here today to tell you all that it is absolutely false".
The loud gasps, shutters and mutters, proved that this was the last thing they were expecting to come out of this press conference.
"I will not tolerate anymore articles, magazines, news reports on this topic or consequences will be faced".
I said sternly staring into the eyes of each and everyone of them. Lights flashed brighter and brighter by the second.
"Sir, your Father confirmed more times than one, that these rumors were true".
A man spoke from way at the back, as he stood sharply from his seat, with a note pad in hand, obviously not satisfied with my statement. None of them were.
"Correct me if I'm wrong, Mr..?"
"Rosadale".
He said, his voice angst as he cleared his throat. He pushed his glasses further up his nose, as his attitude started to unnerve.
"Mr Rosadale. Who's marriage is this? Mine or my Father's?"
I asked him simply, with a calm tone, but my questions only seemed to make him more nervous.
If he's gonna speak up, then he should have the balls to back it up.
I thought in my head, as I arched an eyebrow waiting for his response patiently.
"W-well, your Father has always been dictator and a voice for both you and the company, so we have come to trust his words completely".
He said, his mutters becoming more confident with each word. I just stared at him, with a bored look, looking from his head to his toes.
"You, Mr Rosabell.."
"Rosadale".
He corrected sounding defensive, clinging the note pad tightly to his chest.
"Mr Rosadale".
I corrected myself from my purpose mistake, while walking tauntingly slow to the back where he stood.
"You seem like someone that can simply live a life that is dictated by someone else, other than yourself but believe me Mr dale, I am not. Not anymore".
I said coming to a stop meeting him face to face, as I stared him down, daring him to speak out of turn again. The crowd of reporters and journalists sat awestruck at this little interaction, still filming it regardless of the surprise they all felt. He stood, his mouth agape, obviously not able to think of a reply.
That's what I thought.
I said smugly in my head, as my everlasting smirk made an appearance on my face once again.
"Before you decide to speak up like this next time, make sure you're not a spinless excuse for man, who can actually back up his argument, now G.E.T O.U.T"
I said carefully, staring straight into his eyes. He waited for a while, before he packed up his stuff and quickly scurried out of the room, my eyes burning holes at the back of his head, in hopes that he would feel it. I averted my gaze back to the awestruck crowd after the man had left the room. I threw a smirk their way, and marched right back up to the front.
"I hope all of you understood my warning very well, and won't do anything that would jeopardise you, your good Jobs, or your lives in this city. Have a nice day everyone".
I said with a satisfied smile, as they all stared at me like I was the devil. I just threatened to ruin their lives, but that wasn't even good enough for what I had planned for them. I left the hall, my staff and secretary following close behind me.
"Sir, you called a meeting with the board members, and they are have been waiting on you for a while now".
She said, while walking as fast as she could trying to keep up with my pace. I gave her a side glance, before nodding in response. I turned back to look forward, but stopped in my steps, as Mr Thomas Black stood in my way, chewing on his teeth in anger, with a permanent scowl on his face to top it all off.
Let the games begin then, father.
I thought in my head as a victorious thin lipped smile graced my face.
"Tracy, you can go ahead. Get everything ready for the meeting".
I instructed staring straight at my father, as his glares burn into me.
"Yes, sir."
She said scurrying off. My bodyguards and my media staff followed close behind her, obviously getting the fact, that I wanted to talk to my Father alone. He stepped forward, ever so threatening after the crowd had dispersed. I took steps of my own towards him. I had other things to take care of and I was gonna get this over with.
"Father, How are you? Isn't it a lovely day today?"
I asked, coming to a stop mere feet away from him, as I stared out unto the colourful pastel window beside us, with a large grin on my face. The sun rays shot clearly straight and shone on the both of us. My Father's glare and scowl didn't let up, even after I had generously tried to lighten up the mood. He was such a bummer. I let out a soft chuckle, very amused by the way his face constricted and contrasted.
"You really think you did anything here? This show you just pulled, do you think that It'll affect my plans in anyway?"
He said raising an eyebrow, as a smirk of his own graced his feature, but my smile didn't falter at all, in fact it grew a couple of inches wider, cause I knew him so well, and I knew the anger he felt was nearly eating him alive.
I realised very well, that I had just taken the first step to the beginning of a long term war, but I was willing to fight to the end and I would come out victorious. With a smile, I said nothing, just walking past making sure to bump shoulders with him hard, returning his gesture yesterday. He didn't say a word, and that was in his best interest, because the wall that held my negative emotions at bay, was nearly at it's breaking point.
I marched straight into the vast meeting area, in front of Hill corp's 17 executive board members. Their eyes all shot up at me, in curiosity, anger, and impatience. Each of them obviously feeling different things, towards this meeting, and my earlier actions. My eyes glanced at each and everyone of them, I gave a nod in their direction, in a form of greeting towards them, but they didn't look like they even wanted to acknowledge my present at all. I walked straight to the front of the room, where I would address them. Their hateful glare didn't let up one bit.
This day is just getting better and better
I thought to myself as a grin made a surprise appearance on my features, at the displeased look the faces of my father's minions. I was enjoying this. I was enjoying this a lot. My father built up the executive members of this company, with people he could easily manipulate. People who would always support him no matter what decision he made, and people that would always stay by his side no matter what he does, but all that was about to change. There were only a handful of people in the executives that I actually trusted, and that wasn't something that I was comfortable with anymore.
"Good day everyone. You're probably wondering why I called you all here so early in the morning".
I stated standing right at the head of the table, where I could see each and everyone of their faces.
"Mr Black, why are you showing up to the meeting 40 minutes after you had called it? Is that the character you're suppose to portray as the son of Thom-"
He tried to finish, standing abruptly from his seat.
"Do you realise that this is my company, Mr Kastel?"
I asked calmly, scrolling through the paper slides I had just picked up, not sparing him a glance for his own sake, but still waiting on his reply. When I got none, I looked up at him, to see the look of confliction and surprise, like he wasn't expecting me to say that and he was just realising the little piece of information I had just shared. I looked at everyone else, but they quickly averted their gaze, refusing to meet my eyes. I straightened myself up and looked back at him, to see he was quietly sitting himself back in his seat, not even looking up at me anymore, with a small nod, I placed the the slide book back on the table and took a sit.
"All that aside, I think we should get to discussing the reason I called this meeting in the first place"
I said, picking up the remote control that was laid before me, using it to manually reveal the TV that stayed enclosed in the walls.
"Sir, I suppose you called us here today, to discuss further on the building and construction, that has already been started up in Austria".
Another member, Mr Carson said. He was one of the only people I actually trusted. With a smile I shook my head, showing it wasn't the reason.
"Sir, that is our main priority right now. Discussing any other thing would be idiotic".
Another member said strictly, while standing from his seat. I looked his way, for a second or two.
Why do you people seem to always challenge my words, over and over again.
I thought in my head with a tired sigh.
"That's no way to talk to your boss, is it now? Mr Evan".
I taunted, while playing with the remote in my hands.
"Mr Thomas Black is the owner of this company, and he only has the right to play boss".
He hissed out glaring at me. My eyes subconsciously twitch. To say I was surprised would be correct, but to say I was simply angry would be an understatement, cause I was furious.
"You are no longer a member of this board as of today. Clear out your things and leave now".
I said slowly, as I chewed on my teeth glaring holes into the ground. Different gasps fill the vast space of the room, as the wide eyes of each and everyone of them met mine, at the announcement I gave, not just stunning the person it was directed too, but the entire room.
"Sir, I-
"Did I stutter? I said get out!"
I said raising my voice, as my eyes finally meet his, and the twitching continues violently, making him swallow his words Instantly.
"Mr Black, you can't do this, he's a member of the board! Thomas wouldn't never appr-"
"You're fired too, pack up your stuff and leave as well".
I said cutting Mr Tate off, surprising him greatly. He looked taking aback, as his body quivered in fear.
"Do you wanna leave, or do you want me to call security first?!"
I asked raising my voice a couple of octaves, while glaring at both of them. They shot a look at each other before getting up, clearing their files and leaving the meeting room. I watched their retreating forms until the door shut completely. I turned back around to meet the other members, they all stared back at me wide eyed. I took a deep breath as to calm my rage, and finally I got myself under control.
"Is there anyone else who wishes to interrupt me, or tell me what is good for 'MY' company".
I said looking them over, silently daring them to defy me. They all seem to shrink into their seats even more, showing that they had no intension of doing that. I breath through my nose, nodding my head silently..
Wise chose
I said internally as I turned to the screen in front of the room.
"Now, unto more pressing matters. I want everyone to pay close attention to the screen and to the images you see before you".
I said picking up the remote, and pressing play on the video, before turning back to see their expressions. Gasps of shock, and disbelief fill the room. I understood very well why they reacted that way. I also turned to the screen to meet the crying face of beauty from the restraunt. I turned back around immediately, not wanting see relive her tragedy.
"I know most of you have seen this video by now, and some of you may have not".
I said pausing the video, making them divert their attention back to me.
"This video has been around for sometime now, and most people in this city have seen it".
I growled out, startling them a bit, with this unintentional behaviour, but they quickly recovered from it, sitting more upright.
"I'm sorry sir, I mean no disrespect, but what is our concern in the matter. I- I mean, it's very cruel what happened to her, but Hill corp is a construction company, we have nothing to do with the media, it's really none if our business".
One of the members spoke up, Mr Allen I think was his name. His words weren't disrespectful like prior members, but sincerely curious. Everyone expressions matched Mr Allen's as they stared back at me waiting for my answer.
"It may not be this company's concern, but it is mine and I want it left at that".
I said shutting down anymore irrelevant questions, in which they all nodded in reply.
"I want the names of every media company, or branch in this video. I want complete information of everything. Who's in charge, the location, how it functions and which one of their agents where in this video specifically".
I instructed them clearly.
"B-but sir, is that all really necessary? What would plan to do with all that information? "
The youngest member asked. He was always so reliable, but easily deceived, that's why my father kept him around.
"Johnny, right?"
I asked curiously, in which he replied with a soft nod.
"If you had a sister or maybe a female cousin or even anyone you cared about, publicly humiliated like the woman on this screen and you were in my position, what would you do?"
I asked simply, waiting patiently for him to give his answer. He tried to speak, but only seemed to choke on his words. I nodded silently getting the answer I needed already.
"This meeting is over. Get me the answers I need tomorrow morning".
I said, as I got up from my seat, and hurriedly existed the room, slamming the door on my way out. I headed straight to my office, and with a tired breath I opened the door, entering the the only place I could breath peacefully in the entire company. I slammed it shut and turned around to be met with my assistant standing in front of my desk. The sound of door seemed to notify her of my entrance, cause she immediately turned meeting my eyes. I shot a questioning look her way, silently asking her what the problem was.
"Um Sir, y-your Father called and he said he wants to see you immediately at your residence".
She said a bit shaken up. This was always the same behaviour I often noticed with Tracy whenever my Father was around or mentioned, she always seemed on the edge, or unnerved for some reason. I looked her over for a second, a grin appearing on my face
"Tracy, are you afraid of my Father?"
I said a bit amused. I understood Mr Thomas Black was no Jesus Christ, but I really saw no reason for my assistant to fear him. He only came after people that stood in his way, but my assistant was not one of them, and I would kill him myself if he threatened her at all.
"N-no of course not!"
She said defensively. Her mouth flew open in surprise, obviously not expecting my question. I let out a laugh, as she stood there bashful. Her eyes darted in every direction and her mouth still agape. I calmed myself and walked closer to her.
"If he in anyway bothers you, please don't hesitate to let me know, okay?"
I said coming to a stop in front of her, giving an assuring smile. She didn't reply, instead she gave me a weird stare. I had never seen her look like that before, it was almost longing, her eyes scanned every inch of my face in a memorizing pattern. I took a couple steps back, and cleared my throat, which seemed to snap her out of her daydream. She shook her head side to side in a way to clear her head, and mouthed an apology, with a surprised look on her face. Her behavior was strange... Very strange.
"There's really nothing sir. Mr Thomas is a really nice man".
I snorted internally at that.
My Father? nice? Where? When? How? That's a funny ass joke.
I thought in my head, but I didn't let my thoughts show.
"I'll get back to work now Sir". She said, hurriedly walking past me and out of the room.
I stared at the door for a few seconds, still trying to decipher what the reason behind her strange attitude was, but I just summed it up to probably girl problems. Tracy has been my assistant for 3 years now. She was absolutely trust worthy. When everyone around me didn't seem to show respect from day one, she always did. She proved to me that I could always trust her no matter what.
I walked over to the sofa in the middle of the room, and plunked down on it, as I heaved a tired sigh. My Father wanted to see me? Probably because I fired those board members earlier. They probably ran to cry to him the moment they left the meeting room, but there's nothing that would change my decision. Their days of working here were over.
I scanned my spotless office. It had already been cleaned, and all the broken things replaced by the time I got here this morning. I felt really regretful for destroying it the first place, I was ashamed for acting the way I did just because of my rage. The alarm on my phone went off signally is was time for me to head out for my search. Yesterday after watching that video, something kept eating at me, the guilt I felt threatened to devour me whole. Watching what they did to her, I was in complete shock. I couldn't move, I couldn't walk, I couldn't talk, breathing was even a struggle. Travis kept trying the question me, but I didn't even glance in his direction, talk less of giving him the answers he urged for. In frustration he stomped off, saying things along the lines of
"If you don't want to tell me, I'll find out myself" and "You can go kiss a goats ass for all I care".
He was soo freaking childish. I didn't doubt that he was gonna find out what happened. He always had a way of getting the information he needed, no matter where, no matter what, no matter how. He was a lawyer after all. I made promises, and I was fully intent on keeping them all, and the the most important was finding her.
I slowly rose from my seat and exited my office. Once I made it to the reception, I informed Tracy that I would be gone for a bit, she didn't try to question me or ask me about where I was going, and I was grateful. I got out of my building and was met with a few reporters. There weren't a lot of them here now, meaning that most of them are camping outside my Father's house trying to the get answers from him regarding my earlier announcement.
"Mr Black, is it true that the engagement between you and Mrs Aviel were just rumors and was never true?".
A lady asked, as she chucked a mic in my face, grinning like a mad woman.
"Yes they were all false. There was no engagement in the first place".
I answered confidently, as I pushed the mic that threatened to go up my nose away.
"Are you sure they were just rumors? Or was it called off, because of what transpired between Mr Thomas Black and Ms Aviel?"
A male from the right asked. That topic was one I didn't want to remember at all. I chewed on my lip and began to speedily walk passed them. They tried to keep up with me, or at least follow closely enough for their words to reach me. They still threw stupid questions at me, at which I ignored them all. I got to my car, hurriedly got in and slammed the door shut. They tapped on my window, their annoying voices still coming through. I let out a loud growl, before starting the ignition, reversing out of the parking lot, and into the road. When I could no longer see them, or their stupid flashing lights, I breath a sigh of relief. Now I had to focus on what I need to do.
The first place that came to mind was pretty obvious, and my only lead to her. The place where we met. I remember that waitress telling me that she was there to see the manager. I'll have to go and ask him if there's was anything he could give me on her. I knew very well that I could use other easier means to find her. All I had to do was show Tracy the video of her, and I'd have every detail asap, everything about her life, but I was sure that she wouldn't want me to pry that deep and practically stalk her. If I decided to go that way, there would be things about her that I wouldn't be able to keep from getting discovered, and if the media found her, it would be hell on earth, and it would be yet again my fault. So I want to do this the right way, without having to dig up things that she wouldn't want me to.
I pulled up in front of the familiar building, turned off my ignition and got out. I headed straight to the entrance and into the restraunt. I breath in the familiar AC scent once again, as my eyes set fully on my surrounding. Customer comfortably seated, while waiters buzzed around attending to them. The dim lights not even blinking differently from before. The theme perfectly placed like the way it was when I first set my eyes on it. Everything was the same, just one thing was different. She wasn't here.
I walked further into the room, as a waiter approached. He looked young, maybe 22 or 23, not a year older. He had dark green eyes, with blonde shaggy hair and a slender form. His steps slow and careful, like he was approaching a beast or something. I glanced at him amused at his behavior, but he didn't notice my stares, cause he didn't even meet my eyes, his looked everywhere besides me.
Am I really that scary?
I asked rhetorically in my head, as I kept staring at this boy, and his strange behaviour. He finally looked up meeting my eyes. It was obvious he knew who I was.
"S-sir Mr Black, did you make a reservation? I-if so we're really sorry, we didn't get any calls from Ms Tracy, b-but we'll find you a table right away sir".
He said in panic. He must really think I'm some demon. I shook my head internally.
"No, no need for that. I didn't make a reservation. I just want to see your manager. Could you tell me where I can find him?"
I asked, my eyes subconsciously scanning the area for a familiar face, but I knew there was no way my luck could be that great as to see her here again. I breath a sigh of disappointment, before turning back to the waiter.
"Of course sir. Manager Wyatt is in his office, please follow me".
He spoke carefully as he lead the way, and I followed closely behind him, trying my best not to crash into any of the waiters or waitress's with trays balanced carefully on their hands. We walked into a door, that the inside was revealed to be the kitchen. Walking straight ahead, passing all the employees, we went through another door that lead to a hallway with different doors, in which one of them had 'manager' written boldly on it.
"Sir, this is his office. Just knock, and he'll let you in".
He told me, with a small smile. I gave a nod and was about to thank him, but he quickly turned around and speed walked out of sight. With a sigh, I knocked on the door. I didn't receive a reply at first, so I knocked the second time, which in time earned a reply, telling me to come in.
I slowly turned the nob, opening the door to let myself in, as my eyes settled on the unfamiliar environment it was introduced to. I blinked my eyes rapidly as they set on the brightly shining light, before they fully adjusted to the unusually colourful bulb. I scanned the small room. The office was like every other average one. Same size, same features, same aura. It had four cornered walls, which was painted a bright blue colour. There were pictures of unusual paintings on them, weirdly placed in some sort of pattern. A desk was placed right in the middle of the room, and two couches on the outer part for visitors. My eyes continued to dart around the room, as I tried to take it all in, until it set on a plumb man, as he stared up at me questionably. I was a bit shocked, cause I forgot there was suppose to be another light form in this room along with me, I even forgot what I was doing in here for a sec.
"Mr Black, is there anything I can help you with sir?"
The man questioned, still staring at me curiously, but this time standing up from his seat, straightening him self up more.
"I'm sorry for coming here without informing you first, but it was a bit urgent".
I said honestly. I knew he had a lot to do here, and coming to see him like this, I was for sure causing some sort of obstruction in his work, and I know how annoying that can be.
"No, no. It's fine, please take a sit".
He said, gesturing to the sofa, as he walked around his desk and took a seat himself. I did as he asked, and began to think of ways at which I would tell him what my problem was exactly. What was I supposed to say!?
"Is there anything you would like me to offer you?"
He asked, while giving a kind smile.
"No, no. I'm just here to make some inquiries, then I'll be on my way".
I said offering him a smile of my own. He eyed me curiously once again, probably trying to figure out what exactly I was here for. Well here goes not nothing.
"Last night, a lot of things happened in your restraunt, that may have caused you some damages, I apologise for that".
I said firstly, hoping to ease him into the stupid words I knew I was going to blabber. He simply gave a smile, slowly shaking his head in objection.
"None of that was your fault, and there were no major damages caused, so don't worry about it".
He said assuring me, making me breath a sigh of relief. And now the real reason I was here.
"Mr Black, you didn't just come all the way here to apologise for minor damages, did you?"
He questioned, obviously realising that I was beating around the bush. I sigh internally. This is not something I did a lot, I usually stayed in my office and got information brought directly to me, but I'm going through all this stress to keep her safe, so I'll bare it.
"I want to inquire about a girl that was here last night. I was told she came here looking for you".
I told him, as I chewed on my lip, and tapped my feet repeatedly in the tiled floors. I wasn't nervous about asking about her, no. I was nervous because I was scared to hit a dead end and have no more leads on her, I desperately needed to find her now.
"Can you be a bit more specific on what girl you speak of?"
He said clearly confused, as he visibly searched his brain trying to mentally pinpoint the girl I mentioned to him.
"She had beautiful brown eyes, and curly blonde hair. She wore a grey tee shirt and blue jeans, with a side bag on her shoulder".
I said desperately trying to describe her to him with every detail I remembered to the best of my abilities. He seemed confused for a quick second, before the look of recollection crossed his feature.
"I think I might have a clue who you're talking about. She came here looking for a Job I think, but I don't recall seeing her again".
He said, his face scrunching together in a thinking manner. My heart sung a bit, cause that meant he didn't know anything that I could possible use to find her. I shut my eyes, and chewed on my lip, in efforts to hide my disappointment.
"Is there a reason you're searching for that young lady in particular?"
He said, as he stared at me curiously, waiting patiently for my answer. I scanned my brain for a proper answer to give him, that wouldn't make me sound like some sort of pervert or stalker, but there was nothing I would say that wouldn't make me seem a bit creepy.
"A lot happened, she was caught in the middle of all of it, and it was all my fault. I really need to find her and apologise for everything".
I said, the guilt creeping back up with every word. I was desperate. I needed to find her now, for the sake of my own sanity.
"I understand your intentions very well, and I know that they are of good, but I'm sorry I don't think I can be of any help in finding her".
He told me sadly, with a small smile. I knew earlier that he couldn't help me, but some how, him telling me made me feel even more depressed than I thought. With a nod I stood to my feet.
"No need to apologise, and thank you for understanding. I'll take my leave now".
I told him, while offering a smile. He stood to his feet as well, and lead me out of his office, stretching out his hand out to me, and I did the same, meeting his mid way in a firm handshake.
"If there's any form of information found on her, I'll be sure to contact you".
He said in middle of our handshake. I nodded my head, and offered a grateful smile thanking him, before exiting his office. After the doors closed behind me, I heaved a sad breath, and closed my eyes for a few seconds to ease the disappointment that ate at me.
I slowly made my way out of the restraunt and to my car. I stood by it, and slowly banged my head on the roof a few times, as a sort of punishment. I pulled at my hair in frustration. I had never felt this way before, the feelings where all so new to me and hated it cause they made me feel horrible. A slight ache in my head hinted at the coming migraine that started to eat at my brain slowly. I was hopeless.
The buzzing sound in my pants, drew me from my dismal thoughts. I groan in annoyance. Letting go of my hair, I reached into my pocket and retrieved my phone. I looked at the caller ID, an involuntary frown appeared on my face almost instantly, as Travis's name shone brightly on my phone screen. With a groan I picked up the call.
"What!"
I bellowed, not in the mood for his jokes. This is the worst possible time he could think of calling me.
"Why does it feel like you're instantly always in a bad mood, when you realise it's me calling".
He said feigning sadness. I could feel his eye roll from the other end of the phone.
"You know me so well, now what do you want?!"
I growled out, fiddling with my car keys impatiently.
"Do you really have to be so mean to me? I mean it wouldn't kill you to be nicer, Mr I've always got a mop stick up my ass".
He said tauntingly. I masticate my teeth hard in frustration. He was slowly getting on my last nerve.
"Travis? What do you want?". I said calmly through gritted teeth.
"That's more like it. Well guess who I met today".
He said in that squeaky voice he always did, when he feels like he just accomplished something. With yet another sigh, which seemed to be the one sound that always escaped my lips.
"Who?"
I said in a bored tone, not even having the energy to be pissed or annoyed at him anymore.
"You could at least try to sound enthusiastic about the news".
He said, and yet again I could literally feel him roll his eyes.
"Travis-"
"I saw her".
He says cutting me off. I paused for a bit, in hopes that he would elaborate further, but when he didn't, I blinked a couple of times, my entire exterior clogged with confusion. I chewed on my lip and searched my brain, for maybe a secret code or something that would make me understand what 'I saw her' meant, but when I found none, I pulled my hair once again in frustration.
"Travis! Am I suppose to know what that means!".
I growled loudly through the speakers. The anger and frustration I thought had vanished making a surprise appearance.
"Jesus Christ! Calm your tits".
He said raising his voice as well. How the hell did he not expect me to get vexed when he wouldn't cut to the chase.
"Please Travi-"
"The girl from the video, the one you're probably going crazy looking for".
I started tiredly, but yet again he cut me off. It took me a second or maybe more to process what he said. I blinked a few times, before staring at the phone in disbelief, not believing what I just heard at all.
"W-what did you just say?"
I stuttered out in shock, asking him to repeat what I heard well before, just needing him to confirm that I didn't hear wrong.
"I said I saw her, actually met and talked to her, the girl from the video yesterday. Her name is Valarie actually".
He clarified that I had in fact heard right. I stood shocked, my mouth agape in marvel.
Valarie! Valarie! Valarie! Valarie! Valarie! Valarie! Valarie! Valarie! Valarie! Valarie! Valarie! Valarie!
Was the only name my brain seemed to recognise at the moment.
"Hello, earth to Hilly~"
He said in a sing song voice, snapping me out of my mental turmoil.
"Trev, where is she?"
I asked anxious and eager, as I walked back and forth in no pattern in particular, the nerves eating into me. I waited and waited, but no answer. I had to check to see if he was actually still on the line, and he was. I stared at the phone confused before putting it back against my ear.
"Trev?! Answer me!"
I demanded in anger, while coming to a stop, from my endless pacing.
"Um, well....."
"Travis!"
I yelled out in disbelief. He knew I was probably killing myself trying to find her, so I didn't understand why he wouldn't just tell me where she was.
"Um.... Okay, okay I got it. She's definitely not in the vast shopping area *wink*"
I shut my eyes tightly, and bit my lips hard to suppress the rage bubbling at the back of my throat. I let out a loud puff of breath in hopes my anger would evaporate with it, so I would try to not strangle him through the phone.
"Travis! I will murder".
I said while smiling for reasons unknown to me. I think I was way beyond the point of anger, that my face didn't know what to put on anymore.
"Why the hell can't you fucking use your brain, like I'm trying to help you here, but you always gotta make it so hard!"
He said in exasperation, the frustration in his voice clear. But he wasn't the one that was meant to be frustrated, I was! I didn't understand what he meant at all but I tried to figure it out. I thought for a bit. Vast shopping area? I thought once again until it struck me.
"The mall?"
I asked, waiting for his answer eagerly.
"Of course not, you idiot!"
He bellowed sarcastically. I cut the call off immediately, getting into my car and driving the fastest I have ever done in my life. In less that 10 minutes I was at the mall, pulling into the parking lot. When the car came to a stop, I took a deep breath to calm my fast beating heart, the excitement was getting to me. I silently prayed she would still be here. With all the time Travis stupidly wasted, I would have gotten here a lot sooner.
I got out of the car. The warm summer breeze hitting me, leaving delicate tingles on my skin. I scanned the area, I thought to myself at where I would begin my search. I should have at least asked Travis where he saw her before I cut the call off, that would have at least narrowed the searching area down, and made this so much more easier but I was determined to find her, and I would search the entire mall if I had to.
I took the first step towards my short lived search, as my eyes landed on the never ending beauty that she is. I was stunned instantly. I felt like a knife had cut through all my respiratory organs, as the breath was quickly knocked out of me. My gaze stayed glued to her. I didn't know what to do first, one half of my brain felt like jumping right through my skull, and doing a happy dance, right here on the ground. Another part just wanted to get my hands on her, so I'd be sure that she'd never escape my sight again, but none of these actions were made a reality, as my feet stayed nailed to the floor as I literally drank her in. Her every curve still all perfectly in place, as her blonde curls bounced off her shoulders, as she walked vibrantly with a spring in her step. She held on to a little boy tightly to her side. It was obvious they were both happy from the bright smile that graced their faces. She was still so gorgeous, and even more so when she smiled. I stared at her for what seemed like eternity, as she walked towards the other end of the parking lot. I wanted to make my feet move so I could catch up to her, before she was completely out of sight, but for some reason I couldn't. My brain kept screaming at me to run now or I'll never see her again, but my body wouldn't move. I was hopeless. As If she sensed someone staring, her eyes immediately shot in my direction scanning around until it clashed with mine, her eyes widened in surprise, but quickly switched to a piercing intense gaze. I could proudly say it was the first time in my life that I had felt like running and hiding in a hole somewhere.
What the hell was she doing to me?

Oh my lord! I'm really so sorry for taking so long. I had exams and really did a lot of studying that only granted 5 hours of sleep in 2 days, yeah I'm not joking! But I'm done now, and I will be able to keep up with my schedule. Thank you so, so much for your patience! I love you all. Stay tuned next Saturday to find out what happens next.
