Chapter four

Silver's phone flashed for about the millionth time in five minutes. He was in his Pre Calculus class, and Lyra was blowing up his phone asking how to do certain problems.

How did you do number four? ~L

Silver sighed and blew a stray piece of hair from his face. He risked a glance at Lyra, who was messing around with her friends.

He rolled his eyes as he texted her back.

Can't you ask any of your friends? ~S

No dummy, that's why YOU'RE my tutor ~L

A smile tugged at Silver's lips.

Dummy

That's the best she could do?

And why is that again? ~S

Cause you can't write a paper to save your life? ~L

That's funny, I remember differently... ~S

Maybe your memory isn't as good as you thought ~L

"Lyra! Who are you texting?!" The teacher yelled, snapping everyone's attention to Lyra.

Gold smirked, "Ooo Lyra's in trouble..."

"Mr. Heart, please do mind your own business!" The teacher snapped, turning to Gold. Silver snickered as Gold sank, defeated, into his chair.

"I wasn't texting anyone, Miss! Honest!" Lyra lied, "I was just using the calculator!"

"Phones are not calculators Miss Soul. Give me your phone this instant!"

Lyra opened her mouth to object, but instead sighed and handed her phone to the teacher. As the teacher walked away, Lyra sent a glare at Silver. Silver smirked in response.

Lyra frowned and turned to Hilda. She began talking and a few seconds later, Hilda handed Lyra her phone.

"What's she doing?" Silver whispered.

Leaf raised an eyebrow, "Who cares?"

At that moment, Silver's phone rang loudly, causing the whole class to turn to him.

"Not you too, Silver. You were my star student," their teacher sighed, "Phone. Now." She demanded. Silver groaned and handed the teacher his phone.

He glared at Lyra, certain the incident was her fault. She just greeted him with a smirk and a wave, pretending to blow him a kiss.

Silver rolled his eyes, a tight knot forming in his chest.

"That bitch." Leaf spat.

Silver scoffed, "She's not a bitch, she's just annoying. But she did help me get a C on my paper."

"Ooo a C..." Leaf mocked, "Amazing."

Silver shrugged, "My mother thought so."

"Your mother thinks everything you do is amazing."

Silver grunted and put his focus back to his math work. Every once in awhile, he glanced up at Lyra to see her struggling with the work.

Silver and Lyra were asked to stay after class. They were lectured for thirty minutes on how cellphones were the reason children these days were so emotionally detached and sent them to their next class without a pass.

"Oh man can that bitch talk!" Lyra giggled, checking her reflection in her phone.

Silver shoved his hands in his pants pockets, "I can't believe you got me in trouble."

"Oh live a little, Silvey." Lyra whined, "Life's not all about rules."

"I'll be sure to remember that next time I think about choking you out." Silver grunted.

"Oh murder jokes, huh? Good one." Lyra chuckled.

Silver rolled his eyes.

"Hey, are you busy tonight?" Lyra asked.

"I have band practice tonight."

"Well I knew that." Lyra sighed, rolling her eyes. She had come to know Silver's schedule over the past two weeks of him tutoring her, and it was starting to freak him out a little. Though, he did find it interesting that she cared enough to memorize it.

"But not like after school tonight," Lyra said, as if it was obvious, "I mean tonight tonight."

Silver frowned, "No...Why?"

"Goldilocks is having a party tonight and I figured I'd invite you."

Silver raised an eyebrow, "Why would I want to go to a stupid party?"

Lyra rolled her eyes with a smile, "Because why not? Red's coming!"

"Red is going?" Silver asked. Red hated parties. Not just high school parties, but growing up, he didn't even go to birthday parties. Well, he went to Blue's, but everyone soon figured out that that was because they were shoving their tongues down each other's throats.

"Yeah...I thought you knew." Lyra said, confused.

Silver shook his head, "No..."

As the pair came upon their chemistry class, the teacher chewed them out for being late, but gave no further consequence.

Silver took his seat next to Red, and Lyra took her's next to Blue.

"I hear you're going to a party tonight." Silver whispered as he and Red took down notes.

Red froze, his hand refusing to write.

"Just...stay...safe, okay?" Silver said, uncomfortably. Red blushed and nodded frantically.

"Now, what the hell is he talking about?"

~~~
"Can you believe she invited me to that stupid party?" Silver asked his friends, plugging in his guitar.
"Thinking of going?" Hugh asked, hitting a cymbal on his drum set.
Silver shook his head, "Not even if she paid me."
"What a slut." Leaf snapped.
"You think everyone's a slut." Bianca said, bored.
Leaf shrugged, strumming her bass, "Well maybe everyone is."
"Aren't you lovely?" Silver snickered.
"Watch it Little Red Riding Hood," Leaf warned, "Unless you want a swift kick right where the sun don't shine."
"Oh I'd pay to see that." A voice said, strolling into the room.
Silver glared, "Gold."
"That's my name, don't wear it out." The golden eyed boy said, walking straight up to Silver.
"What do you want?" Silver asked.
Gold straightened in an attempt to tower over Silver, "I came to uninvite you to my party."
"I wasn't planning on going anyway." Silver spat, "Is that all? Cause your big ego is suffocating."
"Look Silver I don't know what your damage is, but Lyra is mine. You'd better stay away from her."
"She's not an object, Gold."
"Since when do you care?"
"I don't."
Gold laughed with no humor, "Could'a fooled me."
"Look Goldilocks," Silver said, using the nickname he had heard Lyra use for Gold earlier, "I'm not after 'your girl', okay?"
Gold's tone turned ice cold, "Forgive me if I don't believe you."
Silver squared his shoulders, "She made her choice, and you know it."
"Well she made a lot of bad choices. That's why she's..." Gold trailed off, "Forget it. Stay away from Lyra. Whatever you two have going on needs to end."
"Fine." Silver spat. A lie, but Gold didn't need to know that.
Gold nodded, "Later, you bastard." He hissed, walking out the door.
"Well he sure has a stick up his butt..." Bianca muttered.
Silver shook his head, "Let's get going already. I've got shit to do at home."
