Chapter One
Lunch, the time where students don't have to worry about being in class and are allowed to eat and relax, along with having fun. There was one large group of kids who hung out at the Ag Quad, space where none of the popular kids went. It was small and out of sight even though it was right on the main path of the high school. The kids who sat there were a strange group who seemed to have found a way to band together and form an ultimate group of normal and weird. These kids combined and separated themselves throughout the years and eventually came up with a semi-organized seating arrangement, the men of the group on one side of a railing and the women on the other side. Everyone seemed to be happy. Music played as James, a bleached, dark-haired kid with blonde highlights, danced to a Russian song. The kids around him were grinning and clapping to the beat of the music. Phillip, a small blonde boy, danced as well but couldn't stay down in dance as he fell a lot and went to do his own thing in the end. The girls went about their own business talking about different problems at their homes or watching videos, one of them reading. Then there was the other mini group, those kids sit away from the others but merge into the other groups by the middle of lunch.
Alissa and Emily began talking about the Avengers, "Alright, umm who you rather meet, Spider-man or Doctor Strange?" Alissa, a pale redhead with freckles, asked the light skinned dark blonde female.
"Doctor Strange, easily." the female grinned, "What about you, Alissa? Spider-man or Doctor Strange?"
"Do I have to answer that? Spider-man, duh."
Another girl jumped into the conversation awkwardly. With a mouth full of food she mumbled something that vaguely sounded like, "I like Scarlet Witch better."
Alissa looked at her and smiled, "Cristine, you know we can't understand you when your mouth's full!"
Emily laughed a little at this when she suddenly remembered something, "Are you guys going to the field trip to New York?"
"Yeah, I am." Alissa responded waving her hand around to get rid of a meat bee who was trying to steal her food, "Go away!"
"I am too." Cristine cut in, having swallowed her food.
"Grace what about you?" Emily asked her darker friend.
"Huh?" She questioned looking up from talking.
"Stop interrupting each other!" The lanky teen Ally exclaimed.
The three females rolled their eyes as Alissa went to reask the question, "Are you going to the field trip to New York?"
She nodded, "Yeah I am."
"I hope we get to see the Avengers." Emily grinned.
"There is literally a one percent chance of us getting a chance to meet them." Roger called back in a retort.
"Screw you!" she called back.
"Guys! If we're going to be on a plane together for five hours can't we at least try to get along?" Cristine replied.
"Oh come on. You know that's not going to happen." Alissa commented.
Cristine shrugged and nodded in agreement. She shoved another piece of food into her mouth. The group went back to the subject of the New York field trip. Cristine and Alissa fantasized about meeting the Avengers. Ally was planning to take a thousand pictures. On the other side of the railing, the boys talked about the cool restaurants and towering buildings. At some point, a high pitched squeal was heard coming from Cristine. She seemed to be breathing extremely fast.
Alissa promptly explained, "I suggested that she was going to meet Vision. She thinks he's cute."
Emily rolled her eyes, "Tony Stark is way better looking than Vision in my opinion, but his voice is nice to listen to."
"Cap is better." Ally said nonchalantly.
"But how do you even know what Vision looks like? I mean you don't have cable TV and any youtube videos are very unlikely to have close-ups." Alissa wondered.
"I can imagine what he looks like!" Cristine argued. A few people rolled their eyes at this. Cristine continued, "And there are plenty of Avengers I think are cute."
Alissa interrupted, "You probably think they're all cute."
Emily snickered at Alissa's comment, "The only one that isn't cute is the Hulk."
Ally looked at her in an accusing way, "Bruce Banner can be cute."
"Maybe, but he's also old." the blonde shrugged.
"They're all old." Grace cut in.
Emily then perked up, "I just thought of something!"
"My God, keep your voice down." Roger had come over out of curiosity.
"What is it?" Mason asked.
"What if Loki is there!" the female's blue eyes sparkled as she thought of the possibility of the god of Mischief being in New York.
The group gave her a look as if she were crazy. Mason shook his head, "Are you serious?"
"Of course I'm serious!" the girl snapped, " Loki is awesome if you don't count the times he's tried to take over our world."
The acne ridden male rolled his eyes, "How is it that just last year you were hating on these guys and now you're all over them."
"Hey, I have standards that weren't met back then, now they have been met." she stuck her tongue out at him.
The blue-eyed male, Roger, rolled his eyes, "You are so weird."
"I know I am, but ya love me anyway." she grinned.
"You may want to rethink that." he smirked.
She glared at him, the bell ringing followed by many groans of the large group. Everyone went off to their classes to learn and do classwork and as soon as they got home, they would finish packing their things to go off to New York the next day. Some of the kids finished packing early and went to the group chat to text the others about getting ready and how far they were. The Yearbook students made sure they had all the parts to the camera and that the charges were in the bag. Since all the sophomores were going on this trip there would be no homework to do while they were away. Everyone was eagerly waiting for the sun to rise again.
