Chapter Twenty Two More Secrets

Skye gently poured the milk into the cereal bowl and went to sit down. Right before she sat down, she heard something. She set her bowl down and went to the wall. She carefully peeked around the corner and saw Mac and Bobbi talking quietly.
"I don't know if we should tell Coulson yet because-"
"We should," Mac interrupted. "Remember the last time we didn't tell him something as big as this?"
Bobbi sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Yeah but this is different I mean we can't tell anyone about this. I don't even think Coulson should know because it's so top secret-"
"Bobbi," Mac interrupted again. "Coulson should know. He's the director."
Skye whipped around and leaned against the wall, breathing hard. What do they mean they can't tell anyone? What are they talking about?! Skye walked over to the table, still in thought, not watching her surroundings. Someone slowly crept up behind her, lifting his hands up. He grabbed her by the waist and started tickling her. Skye screamed and started laughing uncontrollably.
"Ward stop! Stop!"
Ward stopped and grinned, his arms still around her waist. Skye grinned too, looking down.
"I was thinking," Skye said sternly.
"Oh well that's good at least I know my fiancé can think," Ward joked.
Skye turned around and hit him on the chest. "Shut up!" Skye sighed. "This is serious. I was lost in thought because I heard Mac and Bobbi talking. They were talking privately when-"
"When you ease dropped your way in?" Ward finished, smiling with a raised eyebrow.
"You make fun of me one more time, you're gonna regret it," Skye threatened, while looking up at him. "As I was saying, I ease dropped because it sounded suspicious and I didn't want to have another civil war between Shield. They were talking about how only Coulson should know if they tell anybody at all, and how they have this huge secret." Skye looked up at Ward sadly. "We just got out of a battle. I don't want to get into another fight with Bobbi. She's my friend."
Ward sighed and put his hands around Skye, comforting her. "So what's your plan?"
"I want to ease drop on them a bit more so I make sure it's actually a secret and not just a misunderstanding and then I want to corner them. I don't want to make a big scene and start something I just want to talk it out." Skye sighed and slowly looked up at him with pleading eyes. "Will you help me?"
Ward sighed and thought for a second. Then he grinned. "It'll cost you."
"Excuse me I'm your fiancé!" Skye exclaimed. She looked at Ward who didn't give in. Skye sighed. "What will it cost me?"
"A kiss," Ward said playfully.
Skye grinned as Ward leaned in. "Deal."
Ward slowly kissed her as her fingers ran through his hair. They finally stopped, their foreheads still touching as their eyes were closed. Skye's hand was on Ward's neck as his hand slowly went across her cheek and to the back of her head. Their noses gently nuzzled each other.
"Skye," Ward said, breaking the silence. "I'll help you with anything. I hope you didn't take offense to my jokes."
Skye chuckled at Ward's comment as his hand went through her hair, resting on the back of her head.
"No I didn't take offense. But I do really need your help. I don't want Bobbi to-" Skye sighed. "To be-, to be a bad guy."
Ward chuckled at her half joke half real statement. "She's not gonna be a bad guy Skye you know that. We'll just figure out what they're hiding and everything will be ok."
Ward looked down at her sweetly and pulled her into a hug. She snuggled against him and relaxed.

Skye held the flashlight close, not letting go. She had been doing some work on her laptop in the lounge room when she heard Mac and Bobbi walk by, talking. It was around midnight and didn't think anyone else was awake. So why would they be up? Skye sighed, and continued in the dark, following them.
She turned the corner and realized they were gone. She looked around, nothing. They must have a secret hallway or something. Skye looked around the corner and kept walking. She didn't see anyone creeping up behind her.
All of a sudden, someone wrapped their arms around Skye's waist and grabbed her. The person cupped her mouth and carried her behind the corner. Skye's vision slowly came back in the darkness to see Ward, standing in front of her, grinning.
"I got you didn't I?" He asked. "You didn't know what to do." He laughed.
"I didn't fight back because I knew it was you," Skye replied, annoyed.
"So," Ward said. "What are you doing out here, at this late hour?"
Skye sighed and peered around the corner. "Bobbi and Mack were talking suspiciously again and I wanted to see what was going on."
Ward sighed and grabbed her hand, turning serious. "Come on. I'll help you."
They rushed down the hallway and turned the corner. They almost ran into Bobbi and Mack.
"What are you doing here?!" The four of them said in unison.
"What secret are you keeping?!" Ward snarled.
Bobbi sighed, frustrated.
"That's none of your business," Mack growled back.
"Actually, it kind of is," Bobbi said.
"YOU WANT TO GO?!" Mack exclaimed and raised his fist.
"OH ID LOVE TO GO!" Ward replied and went for him.
"Hey!" Skye yelled. "HEY!"
She went between them and put her hands on each of their chests, blocking their path.
"CUT IT OUT!" She ordered.
They both stopped. Skye slowly stepped back, her hands still raised. Ward glared at Mack and went for him.
"HEY!" Skye yelled and put both her hands on Ward and glared at him sternly.
Ward returned her glare but then saw the look on her face and backed down easily.
"I just want to talk this out," Skye said, nice and calmly. "Now. Bobbi said that this is our business. What's going on?"
Bobbi sighed and looked at Mack. He sighed. Then Bobbi turned her eyes back to Skye and Ward.
"We know you're getting married."
