Cruising around the partying animals, Buddy and Sweetpea tried their best to keep Mel in their sights. The task sometimes proved difficult as the pug was always weaving around the animals and furniture in the apartment. Plus, he was pretty fast, even when he was just walking. The pair had already lost him twice. Buddy was determined not to lose him again.

At last, Mel stopped moving. Buddy and Sweetpea halted in their tracks as well, pretending to be interested in the game of kitten toss. It appeared the pug was talking to someone. But the pair couldn't make out who it was with the crowd over by the kitchen. Finally, the crowd was beginning to move. Buddy and Sweetpea held their breath and watched with anticipation.

"Guys, I lost Duke," Norman's voice suddenly squeaked, breaking their focus. Looking down at the guinea pig, Buddy whispered, "What do you mean you lost him?"

"I was trying to follow him but there's too many animals here," Norman answered, feeling guilty. Sighing, Buddy gently patted the guinea pig reassuringly on the back. Just then, Sweetpea chirped. Confused, the dachshund looked up.

Mel had disappeared.
