"I can't believe Flower broke up with me," Mel whimpered. The pug grabbed another bottle of apple juice and chugged it down. Tears streaming down his squished face in rivers, he sobbed, "We were soulmates! I know we were!"

Sitting next to their friend at the snack table, Buddy and Sweetpea gave each other a knowing look. The moment Mel opened his mouth and described his girlfriend, the two knew right then and there that Flower had not been the girl for their pal.

"Why did she leave me?!" Mel cried. Patting his best friend on the back, Buddy reassured him, "Mel, I gotta tell ya, I don't think she was for you." The pug looked up at the dachshund confused. Buddy continued, "I know for a fact that if she really did love you, she wouldn't have broken up with you man. Don't worry, there will be more."

"I think I'm going to take a break before I go looking for a girlfriend again," Mel stated. Nodding his head, Buddy remarked, "That's a good idea man." Holding his paw up, he commented, "Bros before girls." High fiving his best friend, Mel repeated, "Bros before girls."

"Right Sweetpea?" Buddy asked, turning to the parakeet. However, there was no parakeet. Looking around frantically for their little friend, Mel and Buddy found Sweetpea staring at a phone. At first nothing happened. Then the phone rang with a text message alert. Sweetpea chirped and whistled in excitement.

"Aw, Sweetpea found love," Mel remarked. Leaning towards his friend, Buddy whispered, "Should we tell him it's a phone and not another bird?"
