Lifeline
Christina Jade Blackwell P.O.V.
Silvery flakes drifted downward, glittering in the bright light of the harvest moon. The blackbirds soared. I could hear the thumping of my heartbeat as I was trying to save myself. People with torches and pitchforks ran toward us innocent people. Blood curdling screams rang in my ears. With every fast stride, I pumped my legs faster and faster throughout the forest. Yet, Genoa's royal court hasn't been sent to the scene. As the commotion started to die from the distance I put with myself and the event I could feel my pulse starting to slow down. Then that was it, I started seeing red then all I could see was black. My legs buckled from underneath me, soon giving up with the exhaustion I passed out.

After a few soft blinks I opened my eyes to see white. The last I could remember was running in the forest to safety. Trying to get up I found myself strapped to the medical bed. Thrashing wildly I heard the door close behind whoever walked in. Then it hit me, it was the King and Queen of Genoa. Screaming and thrashing even more, the doctor behind them strided over and unhooked the straps that held me tightly to the bed. As my mouth opened to speak Queen Jennifer cut through. "You're probably wondering why you're here." Queen Jennifer snarled in a tone with pure disgust and hatred, this was the side of her I've never seen. To my horror she walked closer to me soon revealing a knife.
Unable to get words out of my mouth due to the fright I had with the simple hand knife."You are to become Princess of Genoa, you will do as I say or your sweet little munchkin, What was his name again?"with the same snarl she had with as earlier. Responding with the strain in my voice due to the strap around my neck, "No! Touch one strand on his innocent head and your dead!" I screamed at Jennifer. My brother, my sweet sweet brother. With a sarcastic mocking tone Jennifer soon replied " Aww! Isn't that sweet seeing my daughter cry over her weak brother. You know he was nothing but a runt to me!". A jumble of thoughts raced around my mind, daughter. No! No! No! My past is catching up to me. I couldn't believe it. I tried so hard to forget my past but it still came for me.
Getting off of the bed, my long lost father the King was at a lost of words. My fathers expression was cold but a following of vengeance swept through them. I couldn't take it anymore. I lunged at my father causing him to stumble backwards until my muscles were stuck. In my brain my mother's sickly sweet voice tuned in "Oh honey, you shouldn't have done that the game has just begun". Mother was stronger, stronger then ever. One word, run. Who I really am? I can't tell you or I would have to kill you. But one thing you should know, Be afraid of me. Double cross me? You'll be sorry.
