39.
Today was Tuesday, and Jimin would finally be coming home from the hospital safe and doing much, much better.
Only, Jimin didn't feel happy about it. That Monday, Yoongi said he'd visit Jimin during lunch, but he never showed, so Jimin spent the day alone. His parents did stop by, but not for long because they had work.
Jimin was leaving the hospital in about an hour, and decided to text Yoongi because he hadn't spoken to him since Sunday night.
Jimin: Yoongi, why've you been ignoring me?☹️
Yoongi: I'm sorry.
Yoongi: I've been busy.
Yoongi: Sorry I didn't visit yesterday, or today.
Jimin: Can you come over? I'm about to leave the hospital to go home.
Yoongi: Sorry, not today, I have a test to study for.
Jimin: You never study for tests. Why are you avoiding me?
Jimin: I thought we were okay now?
Yoongi: Aww, baby🥺
Yoongi: We're okay, I promise
Yoongi: I just can't come over today.
Jimin: Can you at least call me later?
Yoongi: Of course!
Yoongi: l love you<3
Jimin: I love you too<3
Jimin sighed quietly, waiting to get the last of his evaluation results before being able to leave the hospital.
Before they did leave, Jimin changed into some fresh, comfy clothing his mother I brought for him. He was sick of wearing those hospital clothes.
"Mom, you know Yoongi and I are-" "I know sweetie, I'm happy for you, honestly." She smiled faintly.
"Oh..." Jimin mumbled.
"But he hasn't really spoken to me since Sunday night. What if he didn't really mean it?" The boy worried for seemingly no reason.
"Sweetie, he had school yesterday." Mrs. Park laughed as they got into the car.
"I know, but he promised me he'd come visit me during lunch and after school, but he didn't." Jimin pouted.
"Things come up. I'm sure he'll be happy to see you at school tomorrow." She assured.
Whilst at a red light, she got a text on her phone, smiling a bit too happily at it before declaring they had to stop somewhere before going home.
His mother stopped at the grocery store, slowly walking around the aisle to find whatever she needed before putting them in the basket.
"Mom, I really wanna go home and lay down." Jimin complains about her slow pace.
"I'm just getting things to make dinner tonight. We'll be leaving soon." She answered before grabbing one last item and for some reason, picked the longest check-out line.
The rest of the drive home was quiet, Jimin nearly drifting to sleep until they arrived at the house.
"Wait here for a moment. Let me tell your father that you're home." Mrs. Park said before getting out of the car.
Jimin rested his head back against the window, about to fall asleep again until he realized his mother had been in the house for a while now, and had brought the groceries in too.
"Did she forget I was still in here?" Jimin wondered aloud as he saw that even the front door was closed too.
He got out of the car, slowly sauntering up to the door before knocking. His mother didn't come to the door, so he slowly turned the knob, realizing that it was unlocked.
"Mom?" Jimin called as he stepped inside, but he didn't receive any answer of sorts.
He walked down the hall until he reached the kitchen, his heart nearly jumping out of his throat upon seeing all of his friends standing there.
"Surprise!" They all cheered, rushing over to hug Jimin to welcome him home.
"Aww, you guys..." The boy's eyes started to well up with tears as he peered around the kitchen that was cutely covered with 'welcome home' decorations.
"We missed you so much. Glad you're feeling better." Jin said as they let go of him.
"I missed you guys too." Jimin nodded, noticing that Yoongi was shyly standing to the side.
Jimin smiled softly as he rushed over to him, gladly swinging his arms around his neck to hug him as Yoongi tightly wrapped his arms around the smaller's waist.
It felt so nice to fully hug him again, he almost didn't want to let go.
"I'm sorry I was ignoring you, baby. I was afraid I'd ruin the surprise. I'm bad at keeping secrets." Yoongi chuckled quietly.
"You idiot." Jimin giggled. "It's okay, I just really missed you. I know it was only a day, but still." He murmured.
"I missed you too." Yoongi smiled to himself.
He peered up at the rest of his friends who gave him a thumbs up excitedly.
"Jimin, we're going to get going." Namjoon began.
"Aww, you guys aren't going to stay?" Jimin asked.
"No, this was all Yoongi's surprise. We just helped him. We'll all come back over after school tomorrow." Jin explained.
"Oh, okay. I'll see you tomorrow then." Jimin waved as the four of them headed to the door.
Jimin turned back to face Yoongi, smiling contently as he continued to hug him.
"You planned all of this for me?" Jimin chirped.
"Mmhm." The older hummed, pressing a kiss onto his forehead before letting go.
"I got you something too." He began walking over to the fridge and opened it, reaching in and pulling out a small cake decorated with strawberries and little chocolate candies.
"Your mom told me this was your favorite, so I bought it for you." Yoongi said as he placed it on the counter.
"And..." Yoongi left the room briefly before coming back with a small gift bag.
"This is for you too." He said as he handed it to Jimin.
They both sat on the chairs next to the counter facing each other, Jimin reaching into the gift bag and pulling out a small velvet box.
He opened it, beginning to get teary eyed as he held up the pretty diamond pendant necklace.
"I wanna try and do anything I can to make things up to you. Whether it's buying you gifts, or taking you on dates, or even just telling you repeatedly how much I love you." Yoongi said, his heart fluttering in his chest as Jimin looked back up and met eyes with him.
"Aww, Yoongi, I love you too." The younger smiled faintly.
Jimin set the necklace down, standing up and tightly wrapping his arms around Yoongi to hug him, unable to stop the tears from falling.
"T-This means a lot to me." Jimin whispered.
"Shhh, don't cry, baby." Yoongi whispered as well, arms snaked securely around the smaller's torso.
"I c-can't help it." Jimin laughed, leaning away slightly to look into Yoongi's eyes.
"I'm just really happy." He nodded, Yoongi reaching a hand up to wipe some of the boy's tears away.
He let go of Jimin for a moment, retrieving the necklace and carefully wrapping it around Jimin's neck.
"So pretty." Yoongi breathed out as he stared at him in adoration.
He was really happy too.
